Black's gentle side woke up sitting on a bench, he buried his head in his hands "Not again." he whispered. "L-light?" Lavi asked with caution, if he was wrong then Black's twisted personality, Dark, would punish him for speaking, punishment that could break Lavi completely. "Yes, it is me" with Light's response Lavi shifted into his human self, into herself.

"Run! Save your self" After every time he time lapsed Lavi was hurt in new ways and for every wound his timelaps became bigger and bigger meaning that Lavi would get more and more wounds. The second Light had said that he was slapped and hugged "No! I refuse", what the two didn't know was that they needed each-other to strengthen Black's light side.

Jace scowled to the moon as he walked, the crisp night air doing wonders to clear his jumbled thoughts. He'd had another nightmare about his insane father, and while Arren used his magic to ease his slumber, this particular dream always seemed to slip through the cracks.

And so, he'd decided to take a quick walk to shake off the remnants of the bitter, bitter fear-- not that he'd ever admit that he was scared of his crazed father.

He was just about to curse the man out in mutters under his breath when he heard voices coming from the pathway before him. Curious, Jace snuck his way forward, stopping to hide in a nearby bush. He saw a man sitting on a bench-- Jace was no aura reader or empath, but even he could sense that the man was upset-- and a woman moving forward to hug the man.

He was about to roll his eyes and leave the two alone, thinking them to be normal citizens or students out for a little late night rendezvous, but something made him stop. He frowned a bit to himself, red gaze studying the man a little closer; there was something... off about him.

Nightmare forgotten, Jace tried to decide whether he should confront the two-- a risky move if either one or both of them were truly a danger-- or just return surreptitiously to his dorm after more observation.

His curiosity apparently got the best of him, however, and Jace stepped forward. He offered the two one of his trademark cocky grins, all teeth and fang, and while his mannerisms came across as casual, he kept his guard up.

"You guys are really touchy-feely, yeah? Mind if I join in on the fun part?" He asked with a lascivious wink even as his enhanced senses tried to determine what it was about the man that was familiar to him.

Lavi jumped in between the two vampires, not that she knew what the other one was but she knew that he was bad news. She growled, well she tried to cover it up but some of the sound still escaped her mouth "Lavi", it wasn't a command it was more of a request for her to be nice and she knew it "But he... Alright.". She backed away just enough to let the two see each other but was still ready, just in case.

"To answer your question: No, we weren't indulging in lewd activities" He tried to smile but his eyes where sad, Levi was on his mind, how could she escape what surely must be hell. "Young man, you shouldn't be out at this hour. With dangerous and crazy people who comes out after dark, not to mention animal attacks." Knowing that there does indeed exist vampires and werewolves other then himself and Lavi he wanted to warn the man without sounding like a maniac.

"Excuse my manners, my name is Constantine Black but you may call me Mr. Black and this is Lavi" as he said that he stretched out his arm to point at her. "There is no need to be so formal." Lavi frowned "Manners and etiquette are pillars of humanity and as such they should be follow, even if only a little".

Jace brought up his arms in the universal gesture of 'peace, I mean no harm' upon hearing the woman's growl-- it reminded him vaguely of Ace whenever the boy felt someone was threatening his two special people-- and softened his grin so it wouldn't appear at all threatening.

He tilted his head as he listened to the man speak and could clearly see he was distracted. But then, the man started talking to him as if he were a naughty child caught with his hand stuck in the cookie jar. This feeling has only ever sprung up when he conversed with Arren and did something Not Good to his own health, or teachers. Could this guy be...? He wondered idly. It would explain why the man was trying to ward him away from the dangers of the night. But then that begged the question of what exactly the man himself was. Sure, he could be an Academy teacher-- he'd never seen the guy though, but his own schedule was jam-packed with classes for his studies in visual communications and fashion design, so it made sense if the guy was a science teacher or something.

Jace hummed quietly at the introduction, the name Black ringing a distant bell in his mind, but he couldn't recall why. The verbal clues the guy--Mr. Black, he reminded himself-- was giving pointed to him not being human. Maybe... Maybe Black was a vampire? It was possible, as Jace's senses could make out something familiar about the man.

Mentally shrugging, he offered in return as he ran a hand through his somewhat spiky red hair-- he'd dyed it again recently, so the color was still fresh and didn't show much of his natural inky black hair--, "The name's Jace Nightray. Call me anything but Mr. Nightray." Now that title reminded him too much of his father, someone he'd rather forget existed at all.

He stood up to offer his hand and to escort the man home or to a more secure location when his head suddenly felt like it exploded, he feel back to the bench. Once again he buried his head in his hands "Light!" Lavi almost yelled "You can't leave me now, we only briefly meet again", she held back and didn't came any closer and she did her best to stay quiet. Black finally removed his hands from his head, showing a fiendish grin and revealing dangerous eyes, he stretched his body, just before standing up as if to claim that it was now his.

"Dog." Black said angry yet without raising his voice and Lavi shifted into a werewolf quietly and backing up behind Black to stare at the ground and trying to hide the trembling that Dark's appearance had brought. "I am hungry" revealing his vampire fangs and looked at his pet who was to terrified to talk "nrghh" he frowned and curled his nose in disappointment, that thing tastes rotten and is only good for an emergency. His pet was no good, but wait who was this that stood next to him "You certainly doesn't smell like food, who are you or should i ask what are you?".

Jace took a step forward as Black stood, though his eyes widened as the man all but collapsed into himself and fell back onto the bench. A small, somewhat distressed frown tugged at his features as he watched the scene play out, wincing internally at the woman's-- Lavi, his mind provided-- visible panic. He was confused as to what was happening, but then the aura around Black changed so completely that Jace took a startled step back.

This Black was dangerous, Jace could see very clearly. The flash of fangs in the darkness gave him an answer as to why Black seemed familiar-- as a pure blood, Jace could instinctively, if rather vaguely, sense other vampires--, but the drastic change in personality threw him for a loop. What in the world was going on?

"I..." His frown deepened a tad. Hadn't he already introduced himself? "I'm Jace Nightray. Now, what the hell happened?" He murmured, his own playfully teasing mood vanishing in light of the predator that Black had turned into, even to someone like Jace. This reaction only told Jace that the man, this vampire, had to be old.

He offered Black the same grin he'd given before, hinting at his own fangs, though the expression was a tad shaky. He had the feeling that he was treading thin ice, but the man's current personality reminded him too much of his own father's attitude, of the pure blood supremacy spiel his father had tried to drill into his head the moment the man had decided that Jace would be his heir.

The man before him wasn't prey but was he vampire, perhaps one of those second rate that where born human and mixed blood with a vampire. He too had the ability to make a vampire however he used this ability sparingly and only when he were in dire need, which rarely happened happened. No, he wasn't second rate, he was a pureblood, maybe he could be useful in taking back the island, Human cattle should after all know their place.

He loocked at the werewolf why had Lavi trnsformed into her human self he wondered, a dog should be a dog, he needed to punich her however later as it would be unsighty to do it in the open. He turned his gaze towards the man, who was he and why did he time lapse "When did you walk here". Lavi couldn't let him know and lifted her eye to Jace with begging eyes "No, don't say anything!", she knew something and Nightray as well wether or not he knew it himself.

Positive reinforcement was a form of manipulation, twisted into his needs to make slaves. He grabbed the fur on Lavi's head to force him to look into his eyes "I offer you forgiveness if you tell me.", he knew what would happen if he didn't take the offer however his love and loyality towards light prevented her, all he could do was nod in defience. Black threw him unto the ground, now he was just as strong as an average human however that was the price for his abilities, with his strenght he couldn't have pulled his face towards his or throw him away like that but again Lavi followed the rules as much as possible without betraying light.

He turned over to Nightray "What is it hiding!" his voice was dark if slight hurried, he needed to know. Nightray seemed the guy to rebel and as such Black's taming skills would go wasted on him but maybe his will breaking power would do the trick however these where just speculations since he did want Nightray at his side when taking control over Manta Carlos however supeficial it may be to want him because of being a pureblood.

Jace swallowed thickly, not so arrogant to refuse admitting to himself that this Black intimidated him quite a bit. It had been difficult to tell earlier, but now Jace could tell that Black was a very old vampire; with age usually came power. He didn't show his intimidation, however, as the other vampire would obviously take it as a sign of weakness, that Jace would be easy to exploit.

"I don't know what you're talking about." He murmured in response, unnerved by the interaction between Black and Lavi. He might act flippant and uncaring, but he never truly meant any harm. Seeing Lavi being treated in such a way was, at the very least, rather upsetting.

"Look, I have no idea what you're talking about!" He repeated quickly, once again bringing his hands up in the universal sign of 'peace, I mean no harm' as he tried to explain himself, "I just came out here for a walk and saw you and Lavi. You introduced yourselves and offered to escort me home. Other than that, I don't know."

He was heavily confused, that much was apparent, and he wasn't sure if he should've just kept quiet, as Lavi had clearly wanted, but the baser vampire instincts in Jace all but screamed at him to comply with Black's demand. It was how things worked in the vampire world-- the weak follow the strong. It was the reason that Jace had immediately averted his gaze once this new side of Black emerged, though once he finished his explanation, had finally looked back into Black's eyes, as if trying to gauge the other vampire's reaction.

Of course, Jace had spent most, if not all, of his life attempting to deny his instincts. If he had given in to them all those years ago, he'd be following his father around, acting like the crazed man's perfect heir, after all.
