Fenn's visits to the community center were usually pretty uneventful. On the walk over, that was.

This time though, he'd spotted some strange... angel. Just laying down a melted circle of green-brown grass amid the snow. Staring intently at the ground, or on second glance, at some teeny tiny little ants.

Fenn wondered faintly if Honey Candy was getting around more than he'd intended it to. Or maybe this guy was just a weirdo; he was giving off some weird vibes. Or maybe the ants were weirdos.

"Yo, guy. Whatcha doing over there? "

"I'm... decent?" Fenn said, ears and antennae drawing back in unease at the terrible gaze that was upon him. There was something radiant about it, but also slimy. Like a rainbow in an oil slick. Felt almost as if the gaze was cutting right through him. As if he was irrelevant.

As usual, when faced with things that seemed... beyond his ken, it was easier to try not to think too hard about it

Welp, since he'd started this odd conversation, might as well plough ahead. The fae shook off his apprehension the same way he'd shake snowflakes off his wings. "Mmm. I mean, I don't pretend to get human folk myself, not entirely. But I dunno 'bout saying they're like the little bugs. I actually like the little bugs. People're something else altogether. So what's it that you see?"

Throne Lisianthus

"Small things," Lisianthus said absently, attention drawn back to the anthill. "They always aspire to be something bigger than they are but do they ever realize the futility of it? An ant will always be an ant." He mused quietly to himself, "I suppose humans might be different as the Father did create them in His image. Or perhaps not?"

Fenn was pretty sure the "Father" and "image" thing had something to do with Christianity, which wasn't really his area of expertise. He sure could try to make sense of it, though. "Maybe. Guess they gotta be some kind of special to do what they do. Y'know, they can level forests and replant them with enough determination. Got a thing for shaping and growing things, they do."

The fae gave a buzz of his wings and frowned down at the ants. "And I mean, even the ants change the earth a 'lil bit, don't they? Just one teeny tiny hill at a time."

Man, this was usually the sort of conversation that he had after sampling his wares; not in the middle of the park on a decently sober afternoon. It was weird to think about it all so consciously.

"I grow things too, though," the moth said, finding himself rambling on a bit. Everytime this guy looked directly at him, some deep and prey-ish part of him puffed up in a frightened mockery of pretending-to-be-tough, which was not the easiest bit of him to ignore. "Lots of different things. Still getting used to all the weird different things here, like all the plants and stuff? Not used to working with magic plants. Not before here."

He hesitated, wings buzzing. The other guy looked like... he was lost in thought or something. "You grow stuff too, or nah?"

Well, this was a wild ride.

"Uhmn..." the fae trailed off, staring blankly at the angel. His mind had first flicked over to his... "special" plants, and subsequently internally screeched in fright at the thought of bringing them up. Instead, his mouth began trailing off in a very different direction. It was lucky that his mouth was trained enough to stay away from reflexive lies.

"There are lots of things. That you can grow. Just need some, like, dirt, and a place for the dirt, and some seeds or a little starting plant. Then water. Gotta keep the environmental conditions right — you know, the whole shaping-environments thing is definitely a sentient-human-ish trait — and I guess most plants need sunlight. Some do alright with meat, too?" Because of course, his mind had to stray to venus flytraps. Some part of him was thinking that the calculated movement of this guy's wings reminded him of flytraps spreading out after a good meal, but he didn't say that. Because that would be rude.

If this guy even understood what rudeness was. Fenn wasn't exactly picking up "social competence" vibes here.
