Well, that was the end of her popularity and, by extension, her life.

Chloe was injured, so Marina supported her as they made their way to the wall. Marina made sure she was comfortably settled against the it before lining up in the wall herself. She placed her hands at the back of her head as a sign of surrender.

If she was bothered by getting caught, she didn't show it.

Kimiko was a lot more disobedient.

She was twitching and kneeling due to Carl punching her square in the gut. She could've stayed out of it, but that wasn't her nature. She forced herself to stand up, an arm circling her stomach, and she looked at the authority figure with wide, disbelieving eyes.

"This wasn't any of our faults! I don't know what happened, but that guy was throwing a meteor at those girls and the dragon just came here to stop him! Why should we all be in trouble for him destroying the cafeteria!?" Kimiko turned to Marina. "Cheerleader! You know what happened! Tell her!"

Marina was silent.

"If it isn't your fault, then line up on the wall. It won't anything but a minor inconvenience to listen now and save yourself later," Aurora said.

She didn't trust it one bit. Adults said stuff like that all the time, and they would all get punished anyway. Kimiko grumbled and lined up next to Marina despite her injury.

Kim In Suk

The thing about the cafeteria was that, in general, it was a pretty decent place to take a nap. The seats weren't that uncomfortable when they were put together but In Suk still preferred to simply slump over the table and use her bag as a pillow. For one, it was simply how she was used to sleeping at home, only it was way better than facedesking a pile of screws. For another, it kept people from stealing her stuff. Not that she felt like there was much worth stealing but whenever she started to tinker with something, she would begin to feel a little protective of it. Even if it were something as small as a top. She worked on it, so it was hers.

In any case, In Suk had chosen the wrong day to take a nap. The scene that greeted her as she woke up was something so horrendous that she had a blink a few times, wondering if it was just a bad nightmare. She stumbled to her feet, fumbling to get her bag on her shoulder when she noticed that nobody else was sitting anymore.

There was an angry looking lady with a pretty staff standing menacingly amidst it all. In Suk wasn't quite sure if she was a teacher or a student because the lady was in this awkward boundary between looking young and looking young. There were a bunch of angry looking people, actually, but only a few of them looked especially intimidating. Plenty of people appeared to be hurt, too.

Was there a fight then? Wait, maybe it was still going on? What was she supposed to do? Feeling a little panicked, she reached for some broken cups by her feet, molding the glass into a makeshift shield. Some people were lining up against a wall but In Suk wasn't sure she wanted to do that until she had an idea of what was going on.

And just where did her dragonfly go to, anyways...

RE: [EVENT] ATTENTION, LOSERS (open)

She didn’t want to hurt him. She didn’t want to hurt anybody. Scratch that, she couldn’t hurt anybody. Especially her master, who just so happened to be her husband. The form she took was just to get his attention. Because really, what else could she do? Loralei just wanted some goddamn peace and quiet. That’s it. She just wanted to meet with her husband everyday after school and go about their own business, free from others.

But this didn’t seem to be the case.

For Carl, as soon as Lori stuck up for the others, seemed to turn against her. She wasn’t afraid of much, but for some reason the glare on her husband’s face really unnerved her. Even as she would look at him with the same cyan-colored eyes as in her normal body as this illusionary one, in a body much more threatening than her own. Because this wasn’t like him. At least, when she was around. What was his problem, anyway? Why was he so angry?

Well, all that anger would seem to turn against her for the worst. He wasn’t phased by her wakeup call. In fact it only seemed to fuel his fire even more, as he would go so far as to… Agree to fight. She bit off more than she could chew only so that he could realize just what he was doing. To hurt others, and hurt her. But he wanted to challenge her. If she couldn’t put her heart where her mouth was?

Well apparently, she would become one of his slaughtered as well.

Her presence visibly deteriorated. Wings folding in a bit, as she looked at him in clear disbelief. He was speaking out of anger but this… This was uncalled for. "Carl..." She tried to keep her appearance up. To not look weak in front of him. Because in a sick way, she almost believed that was what he wanted. "I’m only doing this to stop all this from happening. I can’t let you get hurt, remember?" Her voice was calm for a moment, before hinting a bit of anger. Why didn’t he see what she was trying to do? "But obviously you don’t care about that. Or care if I get hurt, either." She didn’t know exactly what was occurring. But if his past had indicated anything, something had to do with his pride being stained and one person pushed the wrong button. That’s how this sort of thing always began.

Inevitably help arrived, to which Loralei shook her head. She was in trouble for a fight she was trying so hard to prevent, but of course, she’d be the bad guy too. When the teacher stepped forth to reprimand them, she rolled her eyes. No use trying to defend herself or anyone anymore. "Whatever." She huffed. Another cloud of smoke, and she was back to her normal small self. Looking up to Carl’s face, almost blank. She sighed, turning her back to do as Aurora said, standing by the wall with her eyes anywhere but the scene before her.. "I can’t believe you’d say something like that..."

Chloe wasn’t speaking much. Breathing hurt. She was grateful to Kimiko and Marina for protecting her, but she was either coughing too much or in too much pain to comment.

Marina wasn’t about to speak up, but Chloe would. She at least owed Kimiko that. “Aurora!” she called out, “Carl was m-AUGHUHGH” Her last word devolved quickly into a fit of coughing. She wasn’t able to lift an arm to cover her mouth, and her blood spattered onto the floor.

That probably wasn’t good.

Chloe shouldn’t have acted like she owed anything to Loralei. She had the chance to kill this bastard, or at least to turn him into a quadriplegic, and she wasted it.

“Can I just go to the infirmary?” The words came out softly, which was about as much as she could manage. Aurora might not have even heard her, might not have even noticed. When Chloe looked around, she saw several students who couldn’t even get up. Without Marina’s help, she might have just been lying around on the floor like one of them.

She was still hungry, too, on top of everything else. She had been looking forward to lunch today.

Kim In Suk

Suddenly, she was glad that she had made her shield. Now that it seemed like the fighting really was continuing, In Suk found that she was that much less sure of herself. But it had never really been in her nature to run away from situations -partially because sight was her most valuable asset when put into danger. If she ran away, it wasn't like she would be able to hear anybody trying to come after her.

She still didn't have any idea what was going on but since the man with the blonde hair was clearly the aggressor in this situation -maybe? Yes, no, something?- In Suk figured that for the time, he was probably the enemy. As the lights by his head changed color, instinct immediately told her what she should do. Which was to throw the shield she had made like a frisbee and try to stop some of the lightning. Maybe hit the guy, too, but mainly she wanted the lightning gone and she knew that glass, at least, would be able to help with that.

Probably. That was how it worked with her creations, anyways.

With all of her strength, which was actually a pretty good amount, she hurled the glass into the path of the lightning. And even though she couldn't see it, she made a signal to her dragonfly, hoping that it had eyes on her.

And then she was back to frantically scraping up glass fragments, belatedly realizing that it was a very bad idea to stay.

Despite her immediate control of the situation, Aurora desperately wished that Aurum was there. Although the mage had incredible amounts of temporal and entropic magic at her disposal, there was something to be said about a little bit of good old fashioned intimidation. Aurora was barely the better part of 63 inches tall. Aurum on the other hand could have been mistaken for The Incredible Hulk...if only in blue.

Reactions to Aurora's order was expectedly mixed. While a few students did as told, however hesitantly, one on the other hand did not. Although those lined up against the wall were not happy about the situation, it did make clear who had started this entire mess. Chloe confirmed the whole deal, and while she couldn't just let everyone go, her student's coughing and blood fit degraded everything.

Injured students, and a lot of them. And there was just herself.

Aurora beckoned at Chloe, and then the others on the wall. It was clear they weren't necessarily at fault in this whole ordeal, and it wasn't like Aurora to needlessly keep them hostage when there was a more dangerous student to be quelled.

"If you want to make yourselves helpful, get people to the infirmary. All of you."

Aurora turned her attention to the long-winded student ahead of her. Carl, or so Chloe mentioned his name.

"Except you. You're staying. You don't have to stand against the wall, if you prefer, the floor will do just nicely."

Aurora was just as defiant as Carl was, although maybe without the hint of megalomania that he had. It almost felt like there was some deja vu going on, except that Aurora could not pinpoint why. It didn't matter however. Carl wasn't backing down. Shame really.

Force would be met with force. But not Aurora's force. No, that wasn't necessary. Carl would be his own downfall. The mage warped probability around her, searching into the future for the next few seconds, and found her opening. Another student had thrown something of a glass shield.

Perfect.

"EMP!"

Aurora didn't even appear to move. As the shield flew through the air however, it caught two of several bolts of lightning. One was dispersed into the ceiling. Another was inexplicably launched right back at Carl. As it approached however, students may have been able to catch a split second as Aurora seemed to shift a couple of steps.

The "attack" was brutally precise. There was a knife in Carl's chest, with no apparent bleeding.

The bolt struck the blade.

And Carl's heart stopped, body dropping to the floor, completely stunned; as well as quite dead.

"Mother!"

Aurora didn't respond to her own daughter.

"Someone help me take him to the infirmary. Quickly, if you value his life."

The first time Aurora had used her abilities in front of students. And it had basically been for an assassination. Of course it wasn't that cut and dry, but at least the man might think twice about valuing someone else's lives under a petty squabble. Ohhhh boy, was her reputation about to take a fun turn.

-OOC: Had permission to be as nasty as I wanted here. Ambrose gave me a 5/5 on the brutality scale. Blame that.-

RE: [EVENT] ATTENTION, LOSERS (open)

Marina watched Carl's body drop dead to the floor with dead eyes. She let them go once she understood the situation and she just watched Aurora brutally murder this asshole — all in all? Best staff member ever.

"Aurora... Thank you," Marina said sincerely, with no facade or hidden agendas. She made a mental note to have a gift basket delivered to her desk tomorrow, filled with fresh fruit and the finest wine and cheeses in the island. She was really, truly thankful to her, Kimiko and Chloe, and she felt incredibly sorry for Loralei for picking such a terrible husband. Loralei was a diamond and that fool didn't deserve her.

She needed to get Chloe to the infirmary, stat. She wrapped Chloe's arm around her shoulders and helped support her out of the cafeteria. She could've carried her on her back, but considering the damage made to her ribs, that was probably unwise. "Come on, Chloe. Let's get you help."

Marina wondered if Kimiko needed help as well, but when she turned around, she was back to bouncing on her feet again.

Kimiko didn't trust adults, but she did trust in the goodness of women, and Aurora didn't disappoint. When she told them to make themselves useful, she didn't need to tell her twice. "I'll go get some medical people in here! Don't worry, Aurora, we'll get to all of them!"

Kimiko didn't summon it, but she felt the armor from earlier flash back onto her body and, just like that, she was supporting two injured girls on either side of her arm. They were a difficult to prop up, but Kimiko assured them it was going to be all right.

Loralei didn't want to look up. She wanted to block the whole world out, and let things work out as they should. People were hurt. Carl was in such a state that he couldn't care less about anyone else's well-being. Her friend probably hated her now for almost letting him do such a thing. Instead of just assisting her in taking down her husband.

But she couldn't do that. She absolutely couldn't bring herself to drain any sort of life out of him when she was supposed to be the one thing that warmed his cold heart, at least when he wasn't around others. That wasn't the only thing holding her back though. If something happened to Carl-

Her thoughts were cut off by the further degradation of her judgement. So her friends were sad, huh? Another blow to how she felt about herself. How much she realized how beneath him she was. Or at least as he made her seem. He... Couldn't have really meant it. She begged to herself that was the truth. He would snap out of it soon, and they can go home and-

A flash of lightening halted whatever false assertions she had. It only took a second. A second that felt like forever as she watched a bolt of lightening deflect off a shield. And with it, a knife. Loralei blinked at the wrong time. For as she opened her eyes, it all seemed to be over.

For him.

She stood nearly frozen. There was a knife sticking out of his chest, pumped with electricity. No bleeding, no screaming. But his body did fall to the ground. And hers stood put. It was like he casted one of his invocations to her, because she was stiff as ice. Lori didn't know what to do. Everything had happened all at once. Regardless of her opinions on him at the time, or his apparent disgust of her, one thing was certain-

Her husband wasn't moving.

No, scratch that, her master wasn't moving.

A small gag could be heard, as a searing pain could be felt in her chest. Her hand drew over it slowly, as time seemed to play from pause once again. Her heart felt like it was under the same unfortunate fate as his. Because it was. Not from the potential loss of him emotionally, but physically... Her health was linked to his. It was her sworn duty as her genie to protect him at all costs.

And she failed. Horribly.

She failed to protect others and keep her husband healthy. Even as his wife she knew she failed, for it was her job then to quell his sorrows and anger. But she did nothing but stand idly by as he would meet his fate for refusing to stand down when he was outmatched. It was an offense punishable by death.

And really, with him gone, she wouldn't want anything else at the moment.

For it finally sunk into her. Yea, he said some nasty things just a few moments ago. But the day she was wed to him was the happiest in her life. And every moment spent alone was something glorious. So would she throw all of that away because of this one moment? She couldn't. She couldn't afford it. For if he died there would be no one to mourn his loss. That much was evident, for the students in the cafeteria seemed to be more excited and triumphant that the magus had fallen. And why wouldn't they? He hurt them. For no good reason. Even she could see that. But she had something more special than what people thought of him from the obvious. He could be better. He just chose not too. So yes, no one would mourn him.

Partially because she herself wouldn't be there, except to be buried next to him.

So as those thought raced through her head in less than a handful of seconds, Loralei ran over to her fallen husband to heed Aurora's instructions. Her arms grabbing around his back. Lifting his head from the ground. Her breathing was fast, and her voice was trembling. "P-please m-my love... Stay with me... Please..." She hoisted him up. She was shaking like a leaf. Petrified she'd be, if she could afford it. But his breaths were drawing to a close. And in turn, so would hers. She leaned down to kiss him on the lips. As if to give him more air to go on. If Aurora wasn't pressed to help her, which she wouldn't blame her if she wasn't, but... Still. She lifted him for the most part, carrying part of him on her small shoulders to take him to the infirmary. "Hurry!" She yelled in a panic, her anxiety more high than she ever felt it to be. Her magic wasn't working. In fact... It was draining from her. As she ran out the cafeteria, so was her life force.

They both had mere moments before they'd both meet their untimely demise.

Kim In Suk

Horrible, horrible confusion. One second, everything was happening all at once but then she blinked it seemed like it was all over with. What was that? In Suk hadn't seen what had happened after she had thrown her shield, because she had been too busy trying to make another. Just in case. But now it didn't look like she needed it.

Her head felt a bit strange as she looked around. The blond man was down now. Does that mean he's dead? She could see a knife in his chest but this was Starlight, wasn't it? People weren't supposed to die from things as mundane as a knife to the heart. Right?

She turned back to the woman with the staff, forgetting about the glass she had collected. In Suk was sure she had done something. That meant that she was a hero, right? Or did she have the story entirely reversed?

"What happened?" The girl signed in KSL, because there was nothing else that she could do. She couldn't understand a thing if nobody told her. She didn't even catch that one of the other girls had rushed forward to drag the man to the infirmary. "I don't understand, did somebody die? Just what was this all about?"

RE: [EVENT] ATTENTION, LOSERS (open)

"Don't thank me for ending a life. It's not a fun thing to do by any stretch of the word."

It was the first time Aurora had ended a life since awakening her current lover Pavonine. The dragon had been livid at the Aurora's methods, but the Good Death was a requirement in the Chakravanti method of awakening. With any luck, Carl would reawaken with a newly found value for both human and other species lives.

Aurora tossed her staff slightly in the air, and down returned Terrene from her more metallic form. As asked before, Terrene started attending to other students while the mage, almost devoid of emotion, walked up to Loralei and knelt down by Carl's body.

Apparently Aurora's example setting had induced an unwanted side-effect. Or maybe it would serve a lesson to her as well. Life was fleeting. Don't ruin it by ruining others. Meanwhile, the other girl that had thrown her shield was still around, and while Aurora was about to speak, she held her tongue, realizing that by signing, it was likely she couldn't hear, nor could the mage understand the signing. Instead, Aurora busted out her phone and typed to her:

"Go with this lady and Carl, make sure they get to the infirmary quickly."

And to Lorelei, she actually spoke, quickly, as the unintended effect of a symbiotic relationship was becoming quite clear to the mage. One life could not be taken without another in this case.

"Take him quickly, this girl will help you. Find Dr. Laurie, and don't touch the blade. Tell her to reference page 248, journal 1718. She'll know what to do."

Dr. Laurie was literally the perfect assistant for some of Aurora's more troublesome scenarios. She forgot everything, and probably didn't have a subjective bone in her body. Thirteen could quite literally tell Grace her life story and ways of magic, and she wouldn't have a clue the next day. It was perfect. Just reference one page, and everything could be fixed.

"Go."

Aurora herself headed for the Headmaster's office. There was likely going to be one hell of a talk.
