From July 2 to August 16, I will be in Tokyo studying Japanese. And preparing for GREs. And generally just freaking out over the fact that 1) school and 2) the adult world is pounding down on my door right now.

I have absolutely no idea what internet will be like in Japan, although I hear it's way better than China. Also, we called our phone company to get an international plan. It is. Five dollars. Per phone. For unlimited texts. And unlimited calls. And unlimited internet browsing. Without wifi. Internationally. Like dude. Japan doesn't even require an American Visa if you're staying for less than, what, three months?

It just goes to show. You (fellow Americans) should all come to Japan.

I am almost done with clearing all my owed posts as the time of this thread. After that, I'd like to offer my apologies to everybody I'm plotting and threading with.

On the bright side, this should be the last "Emy's Adventures in X" thread. I mean, well. Okay, yeah, it should be the last. At least for this year. No more study abroad come the fall.

I spent my second night in the dorm and realized on a whim that you actually do need to punch the pillows to make them not stiff. Suddenly I can sleep well. Thank God I figured that out early on instead of on the last day. I did my placement today. I'll have the results tomorrow, just forty minutes before we all have to haul ourselves off to our first set of classes. Which are three hours straight.

The people with no knowledge of Japanese already started classes today. They have two quizzes tomorrow. I fear for my academic future.

The place is like. If China was a 5, this place is a frickin 15. JUST LOOK AT IT. I live on the left side of this room.
