The concept of Secret Santa was foreign and exciting to Glockenspiel. It seemed a rather quaint means of exchanging gifts, and they were intent on participating to the best of their ability. They didn't know much about the individual they had been assigned, as the youth was too young to be in any of their classes yet — but they did as much reading into the listed suggestions as they could. Jewelry and accessories were something they could tackle personally...And tackle it they did, spending quite some time in the hours leading up to the exchange working on the items. Thankfully they finished just in time to get things nicely wrapped and presentable.

Given that their gifting partner was a student, they decided on an on-campus meeting location for the ease of it. They lingered in the courtyard, off to the side of one of the stone paths near a lamppost decorated with festive greens. Gently they fidgeted with the package in their hands, smoothing out the paper delicately and fixing the bow that was attached to the top of it. Hopefully it looked correct, they had spent a long time researching how earth gifts usually appeared.

Braided tail swishing lightly, they shifted their weight from one booted foot to the other, waiting patiently.

Logan had signed up for Secret Santa far, far earlier in the month. And a lot had changed since then. It'd switched from a casual way to show himself as a model student-- Vice President of the Student Council was expected to set a good example, and he wanted to be known as nothing but the best! — to something that made him feel almost nervous. It was just another bit of pressure on his plate. But he knew he'd be fine. Been through too much, and far worse, for anything that caused mild stress to faze him.

His partner was a teacher, though dealt with college level classes, so Logan wasn't familiar. Quick research told him one of their subjects was aura reading, and that… shook him up, for a moment. He knew he had something significant going on with his aura, knew that it lied to people for him and kept them out of his head. It'd been very beneficial. And that led to him wondering how that would feel to someone focused in this field of magic. Would something give him away? Would they only be more affected by it? He wasn't certain what to expect. There was only one way to find out.

Logan was a polite boy, and not as cowardly as he sometimes looked. He got together a proper gift and went to meet Glockenspiel.

They weren't what he was expecting. Which was silly to still be able to say, after a lifetime spent in Manta Carlos. But, one could also take into consideration that Logan was from a conservative family, and that diversity for him had come in the form of it being spat on in his stepfather's dinner rants. While he'd been able to grow away from it in school and his own popularity, his first reaction still tended to be a caught off guard one.

There was a lot going on with Glockenspiel, who was inarguably an alien, but most striking was the height. Logan's cheeks were pink when looking at them, and he clutched his gift bag to his chest almost shyly for a moment when arriving, before collecting himself again. Introductions were important. Logan's six feet was nothing next to the teacher, but he stood up straight and spoke as if he wasn't looking at them from below, but on equal ground. It was a learned, practiced skill.

"Good afternoon!" Logan chirped, flashing a smile. "You'd be Glockenspiel, yes? A teacher here and my Secret Santa match. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance. And I have to say, your classes sound quite fascinating-- I may look into them when I graduate high school and move on to college. I'm Logan Delacroix, as I'm sure you've guessed."

Sensing someone approaching, they immediately perked, casting their gaze around in search of the presence, whom they soon spotted. Their many eyes blinked slowly, head canted a fraction as they watched the youth come near and introduce himself. While they were often curious about many of Manta Carlos' residents for one reason or another, it wasn't appearance or apparent demeanor that struck Glockenspiel's curiosity with this one — it was their aura. It appeared...off, somehow, though they couldn't quite put their finger on why it was off. It was so abundant that it made them want to reach out and push away the fluff to see what was beneath...And it smelled, too — saccharine with the faux sweetness of certain kinds of candies.

Perhaps this was simply how the boy's aura was like naturally? They would have to put concerted effort into deciphering what they saw at first glance and that seemed rude on a first meeting. He had been so polite, after all, it was only appropriate that they respond in kind — not stand there and gawk. So, they simply filed the information away for later curious investigation, and coaxed a smile onto their dark lips. Their stance

Delicately, they reached out with their telepathy, just enough to establish a pathway for communication.

{ Salutations. I am Glockenspiel, yes. It is lovely to meet you, Logan. } Their psychic voice held a tone similar to small bells — higher pitched but not unpleasant. { I would be happy to have you in my classes should you choose to take them. }

Their smile widened some, as they held out their gift, clutched in their long fingers.

{ Secret Santa is such an interesting custom. I hope this will be satisfactory. }
