Appearance Description:
To say that Walks casts an intimidating silhouette would be a rather large understatement. Standing at 6'7" he looms over many individuals, human and non-human alike. His stature is bulky and overtly masculine; he is broad-shouldered and wide chested. Well-defined musculature fills out his frame — he is not necessarily grotesquely huge, but extremely fit. As massive and sturdily built as he is though, he tends to move with a certain careful grace, as if he's aware of his size and power.

His complexion is dark and sun-tanned and his facial structure has a distinctly middle eastern cast. He wears his black hair long, pin-straight and cut to frame his facial features it reaches his shoulders. His eyes are dark gold and occasionally lined with kohl. When it comes to clothing, Walks would prefer to go without most of the time, but since modern society frowns upon that he's gotten used to clothing himself. He defaults to jeans and t-shirts or other simple clothing and generally avoids anything made with animal hide. It's too much like wearing food, and he dislikes it.

Walks' natural form is that of a nile crocodile. His body shape follows the standard for the species, a reptilian figure set low to the ground covered in scales of various thicknesses. While in his beastial form he measures ~15ft/4.5m long from the tip of his snout to the end of his tail and weighs approximately 1,162lb/527kg.

Personality Description:
• Honor-bound
Extremely old fashioned in mannerisms, concepts like honor and respect are very important to Walks. If he owes a debt to someone, no matter how small or large (e.g. borrowing money or saving his life), he will do his utmost to repay it. Not doing so is viewed as an affront to not only his honor, but the person he owes. Repayment is a matter of respect.
Devoted
He is a very dedicated fellow and believes relationships should be long-lasting commitments. Once he forms a bond with someone, whether friends or otherwise, he's a fiercely devoted individual. He will protect those he cares about to his dying breath, even if they don't want him to. Walks will raise his figurative hackles at anything he deems threatening to his dear ones, to the point that it might be annoying for those close to him. But in his opinion, it's better to be over-protective than have something bad happen due to negligence.
Pious
Though it is generally not practiced any more outside of the stray pagan, he still pays homage to the religion that fed him ages ago.
• Stubborn / Slow to adapt
Extremely headstrong, it's hard for him to change his mind once he's made a decision. Likewise, he is extremely set in his ways and resistant to change.
• Instinctive
Having been feral born rather than raised as a human, Walks is more prone to listening to and following his animalistic instincts. This leads him to being somewhat dense at humanoid social cues.
• Reserved
Walks is often quiet and thoughtful. Part of this is because he's a believer in the concept of 'don't speak unless you have something purposeful to say' but also because he struggles with the common tongue.
• Uptight
Due to his adherence to honor and respect combined with the general serious aura he exudes, he has the tendency to come across as uptight and needing to loosen-up. However, he oft feels as if he has to be on the watch, so relaxing isn't easy for him.

• Hand-to-hand combat
Walks is adept at close quarters combat and grappling. It is something he excels at.

Species Abilities:
• Shapeshifting
As a werecrocodile, Walks' naturally can shift between a human form and a crocodile form. Unlike some other werecreatures, he does not have a hybrid middle form between human and lizard. The transformation is neither subtle nor easy. He starts to grow in shape and size, his skin tears and he loses teeth, eyes, hair, flesh, etc. as the beast within claws its way out of his human body. The pile of viscera left behind is often eaten to remove evidence. In reverse, from beast to human, the process is much the same. Walks can change form freely and is not bound by lunar cycles like werewolves.
• Natural Abilities
In his beastial form, Walks has many of the standard gifts of a crocodile: extreme bite force, skilled swimmer, etc.
• Heightened senses
Like many werecreatures, Walks enjoys an above-human sense of smell and hearing. He is also stronger than average in his human form.
• Sleep of Ages
Werecrocodiles can enter a hibernation state where they bury themselves in the ground and enter a state of suspended animation. They often do this when they are being hunted or otherwise need to remain hidden for a long period of time. It can be very hard to awaken from this state and thus many end up oversleeping.
• Sturdy but not Immortal
While many werecrocodiles appear immortal, living extended lifespans especially due to their sleep of ages, they are not immune to death. Enough physical damage/wounds, poisons, or sickness and you will kill a werecrocodile.
• Allergy to Gold
In contrast to werewolves and other animals that follow the moon, werecrocodiles are in alignment with the sun and thus have an allergy to gold. Wearing gold jewelry is extremely uncomfortable as it burns them and gold weaponry striking vital areas will rapidly kill a werecrocodile.

Biography:
Shedet / Crocodilopolis c. 370-340 BC - ish
• Feral-born, Walks is hatched during the setting sun within the wading pool of a temple to Sobek. The priests claim this cements his destiny as a guardian.
• Hand-fed from an early age, he is raised as a cherished temple pet. For the first years of his life, all he knows is the wading pool and natural life as a crocodile.
• Walks experiences his first change upon reaching adulthood. Confused and disorientated, it takes him many days to learn how to pilot his human body. The temple priests, naturally alarmed, view this as a blessing and bestow upon him the name of Pryhersobek (roughly 'walks with sobek').
• Over the months, the priests help acquaint Walks with human life. He takes a keen interest in the religion he's been raised under and starts viewing the priests and followers around him as family.
• Walks settles into a comfortable status quo of spending 6 months out of the year in his human form, tending to temple tasks and learning how to better control his human form.
c. 341 BC - ish
• The hunters come in the night, with no rhyme, reason, or warning — Walks is startled awake and thrown into the fray, tooth and claw, but it's not enough.
• The temple is razed to the ground and Walks is forced to flee with no time to tend to his fallen comrades.
• Shortly afterwards, Walks buries himself in the ground and enters the Sleep of Ages to escape rage and sorrow.
Recent Times
• Walks awakens and rapidly discovers he has slept much longer than expected. It's hard for him to blend in and it's not long at all before one of the Academy's scouts finds him and ushers him to Manta Carlos.
• Slowly, he settles into modern living on the island, and eventually takes up a job as academy security.

Additional Information:
Native speaker of a dead language
Given the time period during which he was hatched and raised, Walks' native tongue is ancient Egyptian. He has learned English and is adept enough with it to communicate but it still feels clumsy and awkward to him.
Genetics, not infectious
Walks' breed of werecrocodile is spread by genes and he cannot change another into a werecrocodile via bite.
