Bartholomew has been one of Madame's constant companions during her lengthy existence — he has been with her for at least three of her 'cycles' (so roughly 1500 years). Presumably she took him under her wing for one reason or another, and she has grown quite fond of him over the years. Since he is a constant variable for her and has been around when her memory resets, he often helps remind her of things she has forgotten in the past (or "forgets" to remind her of certain things to save her pain and heartache — you know, like that time she was almost burnt at the stake for being a "witch" ... better to keep that one under wraps??). Lately, he has settled into a sort of bodyguard / close confidant role. While he likely has his own home somewhere on the island, I imagine he spends as much time as he can living with Madame in her little "home web" / pocket dimension. He is extremely overprotective of Madame and has the tendency to be somewhat suspicious of people she gets close to (given her most recent track record). He can be a proper gentleman, but I imagine him to be more rough around the edges than Madame. There is a lot of potential for backstory plotting and character development between these two. Also...Ship potential!!! Hit me up if you'd like to plot or brainstorm.

So! Alice was Madame's protege back when she ran the Doll Bordello in Paris. Darling girl, very loving, you know until she had to ruin Madame's life's work to...well, save Madame's life. They parted on extremely poor terms, and because I love me some angst, I think it'd be fun to reintroduce Alice into Madame's life somehow (I'm sure Bartholomew will have some choice thoughts on this matter, too!). Alice was human though, so for her to still be alive after she separated from Madame, something had to happen to her between then and now. Perhaps she was turned into a vampire, or perhaps she lived and died a normal human death and was reincarnated?? The possibilities are pretty wide, here. Lots of angst, lots of drama, ship potential possibly?? This will require a lot of plotting and brainstorming to hash out so!!
