Name: Chitose
Age: 18
Birthday: August 1st
Species: Animated Figure
Gender: Female
Category: Student
Class: College Freshman

Appearance Description:
Fullbody 1
Fullbody 2

Chi is best compared to a special type of 'golem' creature; her body is made of a resin polymer and is only six inches tall, yet she is capable of walking, talking, blinking, feeling, thinking - all sorts of things. The tiny woman's body itself is best compared to a natural human, clothing isn't sculpted as part of her body. Even so, it was also not designed with any explicit detail or even a navel. Chitose's skin is cold and not soft like real skin, yet unlike real resin the surface of her body (skin) is not hard entirely hard either, as she is able to move her limbs and the like.

Chi's body is very vibrantly colored, to the point that it looks unreal. One might say it makes her look vaguely like she was nearly animated from an anime and pulled into the real world. This vibrant color seeps from her body towards anything she touches as well, staining it to look like it's from the same unreal world that her body appears to be from. The most notable example of this is her eyes; a close inspection shows that they are likely two-dimensional as if they were painted on, yet they blink and look around like real eyes would.

The living figure's raven black hair is always long and is made of a resin like the rest of her body, so she doesn't have individual strands of hair. However, her hair is more flexible than the rest of her body and clumps of hair can be merged and split, allowing it to at least mimic real hair.

All of Chitose's features are identical to that of a Japanese video game character of the nearly same name, Yasui Chitose. That is, she has petite facial features with very evenly 'cut' bangs to make her look proper and well composed. The figure of her body matches this same facial build. Chitose even walks with the same grace that her character did, but that has more to do with how Chitose has always been controlled with her movement and emotion.

Personality Description:

Likes: Indoor sports, swimming in particular, drawing, painting, digital tough-ups, hanging out, stargazing
Dislikes: Bullies, dirt, gardening, bugs, blood, loneliness, losing, most kinds of animals
Weaknesses: Stubbornness, germaphobia, finicky, overly competitive, math, puzzles, attention craver.
Strengths: Gentle, visually artistic, well spoken, graceful, fashionable, highly motivated,
Fears: Germs, blood, most animals (especially dogs).
Habits/Hobbies: Animating/drawing manga, watching anime, reading manga, collecting things from her favorite stories.
Skills / Talents: Drawing, painting, photoshopping, animating.

While anyone might be a bit surprised to see a living figure trying to make a living for herself and may even question what future a figure has, Chi is determined to prove that she's just as human as anyone else. She most typically does this through her art - she has always had a love for painting and drawing. Determination is a notable trait of the tiny woman's personality, too - she is stubborn to a fault and relentless whenever pursuing her interests or making a stance. This can make Chi a bit... ungraceful when she refuses to concede that a thought or statement of hers may have been wrong. While she won't explode in your face, it doesn't take a genius to tell that she doesn't take defeat lightly.

This determination has lead itself to a pretty obsessive personality as well; her most pronounced obsession is with Japanese animation, comics, a few video games and Japan in general. Even so, she readily admits that she needs to learn a lot more before she understands their culture much more. This aforementioned obsession has lead to a somewhat odd contradictory desire with Chitose; she can't help but like getting some of the attention a figure would get from someone else, such as being dressed up, being maintained or even being posed in various ways. This isn't because Chitose wants to be treated like a figure, however, but instead finds it exciting and even a little exhilarating to be a part of the 'anime scene' as she is now.

Chitose is generally full of energy, very motivated and social with those around her. However, that isn't to say she is energetic, though. In fact, 'bubbly' is something that almost nobody would describe Chi as! She may be a bit ungraceful when it comes to being proven wrong, true, but she acts in a very controlled and gentle manner. That is; she always walks with a purpose, she is not prone to emotional outbursts even when her stubbornness is showing, she speaks in a refined, smooth manner and she always strives to keep her appearance in orderly fashion. Chitose is expressive, but what she expresses is only what she wants to express; she doesn't actually open herself to others very easily.

Like mentioned before, Chitose is full of energy; she doesn't like being in one place for too long and likes being athletic, even though she isn't that good at it, especially so now that she's 6 inches tall. Chitose is, however, a bit of a germaphobe, so she tends to lose her composure when she gets dirty or is in a 'gross' sort of environment. What's more, Chitose is very squeamish - she faints at the sight of blood, for example.

Powers:

Paint the World

Chi is a very tiny individual, so it helps that her body is layered with a special paint that changes the world around her via being an extension of her life force.

Typically using her fingers, though any part of her body can do, Chi can literally paint into existence something for her to use by drawing in the air itself There are several notable limitations to her capabilities, though; the first is her size. It takes a very long time for her to draw things bigger than herself, so that's a problem in of itself. Furthermore, the tiny woman's drawings don't function if they move more than 12 feet away from her, and they only last for as long as Chi doesn't fall unconscious due to sleep or other means. What's more, the detail that she adds to her constructs plays a large part to how powerful and/or durable the construct ends up being.

Things made by Chi can be magical or technological in function, though, so at least her options are very open-ended. She can even draw additions to her body to modify her physical capabilities, such as cat ears to gain some feline characteristics or wings in order to fly. Chi can also expedite the drawing of certain constructs by willing a line to extend beyond her reach while drawing it. This would most typically be used for creating things like bridges, ladders or other such things. It can't however, be used to hurt people - her constructs are not sharp unless they are drawn with a notably detailed cutting edge or at least a proper point.

The effectiveness of magic or technological things painted by Chi are reliant on her willpower; she will actually be mentally weakened the more her constructs are used or damaged. It also doesn't help that Chi can't create things that think for act for themselves like computers or living things.

Figurine Body

  • Animated Aura - Chi's life force causes the world around her to look 'fake', as if it were part of an anime rather than real life. This effect emanates from her body like paint seeping from it, so naturally anything that touches her body is 'stained' by this aura. Luckily this stain only lasts a few minutes and can also be washed off with water, but it's still very noticeable.

This aura is usually harmless, but if someone or something gets too much onto themselves something odd happens. If an object or person is covered ~50% in stain they will actually shrink down to Chi's size, unless they have a power to nullify such changes. Once shrunk, the person or object needs to be completely cleaned of any stain on their body to return to their original size. Water can do this instantly, of course.

Chi is actually safe to go into water herself, it doesn't wash away her life force or anything.
  • Artificial body - Chi is an animated figurine. She doesn't bleed or need to breathe, though she does feel pain. Abilities centered around causing bleeding effects or affecting breathing have no effect. on Chitose
  • Color Absorption - Injuries never heal naturally for Chi and she can't heal them by herself. Instead, someone has to heal them for her. The way this is done is by another person using any kind of colored art utensil such as pastels, crayons, paints and the like to 'paint' over the injury in question. So long as the correct colors are used for the wound, it will completely heal the wound in question. This can even help replace entire lost limbs!
  • Platform Freeze - Small platforms designed for figures like Chi's are one of her greatest weaknesses! If she sets foot on one such platform, she become more like a figure in that she can no longer move by herself. Her feet freeze to the platform as if glued, whether or not she has any shoes on. Luckily anything stronger than gravity will be able to knock Chitose off of the platform, freeing her from its grip.

Biography: Chitose was born initially as a normal human named Chad. Chad and Chitose are the same exact person; Chitose is just Chad stuck as a figure, essentially.

Chad grew up in L.A, California, so he's a city guy through and through. His father was typically always working in the movie industry while his mother worked day in and day out as a waitress to help supplement the family of five when the father's paychecks hit a dry season during dips in his career. Chad was the oldest of his two twin sisters, Jill and Elly, but only by a few years.

Chad's Father worked with script writing and story-boarding for films, though he never truly worked in really high budget films or anything. Meanwhile, Chad's Mother had always loved art, but she earned very little from commissions and sales in general, which explained the waitress job that she was running as well. Regardless, the two interests of his parents 'merged' together with Chad, helping nourish a child who liked thinking about fictional stories but was more of a picture-focused sort of visual artist than a word-based one.

Chad was typically made fun of in school at first, as he wasn't exactly the most 'typical' boy who adhered strictly to his gender role. This is because his two most defining traits even back then could be defined as 'graceful' and 'picky', two things that many other boys and girls classified as girly. It came as a notable surprise when the young boy showed his unique talent to take bullying in stride rather than react badly to it, something which can throw a lot of those kinds of kids for a loop. Chad was treated a bit different by people as a result; he was and is to this day someone who doesn't let others define him or give them the satisfaction of putting him down. He was able to slide through most circles of friends and get to know all kinds of people from an early age, giving him a pretty wide perspective as time went on. Even so, Chad didn't have a perfect school life; he struggled in most math and natural sciences classes and there were plenty of classmates with support who continued to berate the kid at every opportunity. On the other hand, though, there were other people who supported Chad and looked up to him, so he always had someone to help keep him afloat.

Chad got interested in anime and manga at a very early age, well before middle school. This was mostly thanks to some exposure from some of his friends interests and their families. There were plenty of bad ones to see, but the anime and manga of higher quality truly caught his interest - ones that told interesting stories with deep characters, or ones which focused entirely on the characters and pitted them through various life scenarios. It was only a matter of time before Chad got really interested in anime, manga and even Japan later on.

As such, Chad grew up to refine his artistic style as a mangaka, or basically what he ended up calling himself for being an artist who focused on the same sort of style associated with Japanese animated and comic entertainment. Chad grew emotionally empowered and even spoiled by his group of friends as time went on, becoming a bit haughty and even a bit of a bully himself towards those who weren't quite as lucky as he was at the time. This became most obvious by high school when a new girl in the same class as him showed the same sort of talent that he did, making her competition of a sort. Chad was the only one in his circle of friends who actually drew, and compared to his other talents drawing was his only 'big' strength. As such, he felt threatened. He used his circle of friends to try and bully the girl a bit. Just like Chad, though, this girl wasn't the type to give up easily.

This rivalry reached its peak during a strange scholarship that opened up; there was someone willing to sponsor an artist a healthy sum of money if they created a ~20 minute animation of any story of their choosing. It was a notably vague goal, but the two 'warring' teenagers used it to compete. Chad himself created a miniature fan-made story featuring one of his favorite characters at the time, Yasui Chitose. It was an animation that used only visuals and some music, no voice overs or script to speak of. Yasui Chitose was from a video game that used heavilly anime-derived graphics to showcase a RPG with an emphasis on character development and some romance in the form of some date sim additions. The plot got pretty deep too, so it was something Chad was into a good deal. It was good enough that it even got a relatively short anime created after it, so Chad wasn't the only one who knew of Yasui Chitose.

Chad's animation happened to win the scholarship, much to the girl's dismay. Wanting to be the bigger person of the two of them, though, she was going to congratulate her rival. The girl was about to approach Chad after school when he was invited to an impromptu dinner by the sponsor of said scholarship. When Chad agreed, The girl ended up following him.

This worked out in Chad's favor, because the scholarship was actually one big sham. It was hosted by a supernaturally gifted human who had powers related to art to life, who at one point was in love with one of his own creations that came to life. Things didn't go so well when his love died in an accident, though, which caused him to lose a good deal of sanity when his attempts to revive her failed. Eventually, he wanted to make the world look like the same animated world that his love had come from, in some vain attempt to get any of the joy he used to have. In order to pull such a huge feat off, however, he would need a lot of help. The delusional man created his living and forcibly real art by enchanting his art supplies, such as paints and pencils. Long explanations cut short, he could turn another person into an endless source of enchanted 'art' if he could find someone compatible to be effected by his powers.

Chad became Chitose at that point, with the plan of brainwashing Chitose into helping with his goal of subverting the world. Part of the brainwashing process had already taken effect, which is one of the reasons why Chad now goes by the name Chitose rather than her birth name. Things didn't go according to plan when the very girl that used to be Chitose's rival butted in. The deluded man ended up being transformed into a type of art himself, allowing Chitose and her new friend to escape.

Chitose improved a great deal as a person thanks to her rival's heroism to save herself from an even worse fate. However, That was a pretty minor point to make when confronted with the fact that Chad was now a living 1/7 figure of a girl from a video game. Luckily, it didn't take long at all for the Starlight Academy to catch wind of the two missing people and the strange rumors of an odd figure lurking around the school shortly thereafter - Chitose wasn't going to return to her family in the condition she was in now.

Offered a place at the academy, Chitose accepted.
