She had no training. No practice. No performances. Nothing. Nothing was going on today that would keep Miya from doing nothing but run to her room. There was no need to head back to her room so early though. Miya felt alone and didn't like the feeling. Might as well head out to the field and see if it was abandoned enough to start practicing making fire shapes in air to help form some kind of control.

Till she heard whimpering and laughter which drove her mad. She knew all too well the laugh that came from people tormenting someone. The air around Miya began to heat up as she followed the sounds of the whimpering and the laughter. Eventually Miya found where the torment was happening, a couple of teen boys and girls picking on a pair of students, one boy and one girl. The air grew extremely hot as Miya walked towards the group.

From the courtyard a fire rose into the air as a group of students ran away from the source. Miya sat on the ground in the middle of the scorched earth. Only a tiny circle was there around her but there she sat with her belongings scattered about, her hair a mess, and a few drops of blood running down her face. This wasn't a way to start the afternoon.

Adelene just got back from downtown that time. She just went through the gates and was heading back to her dorm when she sensed commotion coming from the courtyard. Usually, she'd let it go and ignore it, since she still hesitated trying to pry in other people's business, but today, her feet moved to the courtyard without hesitance.

Her instincts told her she should go.

She was planning to roam around to find out what caused the commotion, but she immediately caught sight of the burned ground and the girl in the middle. She felt something turn in her stomach as she momentarily stood struck and frozen.

She was worried. More than worries, she was scared. She was reminded of all those people that burned when the man trying to capture her burned down a whole village, sparing no one. The images flashed before her as she looked at this girl right now.

But she easily snapped out and ran to her. She was genuinely concerned.

"Hey, you okay..?" She stopped in front of her. It was obvious that the girl wasn't okay, but it was an SOP for her to ask before trying to do anything. "You're bleeding... We should go to the infirmary, I'll take you there."

Miya barely came out of her daze when she saw a figure coming towards her. She almost immediately threw a fireball when she heard a voice of concern. Her hand had raised back as not even a spark formed as it slowly lowered back to the ground. The tone...Wasn't fake. The girl was concerned and it wasn't a lie from what Miya could tell.

"I'm....Don't know. Remember stopping some bullies then...Shit."

Miya took a look around and saw the scorched ground around her with only the small circle of grass untouched where her and this girl were. She lost control again? Or did...No she was protecting herself and it got out of control again. At the mention of blood Miya touched her face where she had felt moisture and brought her hand out. Sure enough there was blood on her fingers. Running them up to her hair she finds the source and winces. As she poked it her dark black hair gained a crimson hue as the wound began to bleed more.

"Bleeding? Did...Could you help me get my things first? I...Thanks by the way. Man my head hurts."

Miya started to stand up only to get up about halfway and fall back on her ass. A second time she tried to get up but fell over once more. She figured the blow to the head did more then she thought. Miya raised her hand to touch it again and winced as she poked around it. Yeah it felt like quite the wound. Seeing as she could stand Miya instead looks about and starts crawling to her things. There was a crimson backpack, a black purse, and what looked like a bigger yellow purse with papers sticking out if it laying about.

"Sorry if it's too much trouble. You could just go get the nurse and I'll sit here if you don't want to bother."

Letting out a small sigh Miya sits up with her knees bent and rests her arms on them as her hands come together and she stares at the ground. She felt helpless at the moment, knowing full well that she could still lose control with the wound on her head.

Adelene was already on it when the girl asked help for getting her scattered things. She put them on her side, before kneeling in front of her, checking on her head until she tried to stand up, twice, only to fail, twice.

"Careful, now," Adelene said softly, keeping her seated on the ground by putting her hands on her shoulders. The bleeding seemed terrible, especially since the blood could be seen on the girl's hair.

"I guess calling the nurse here is a better idea if you can't stand. Don't force yourself to do anything while I'm not back." Adelene stood up and stepped away. "I'll head over to the infirmary. Whatever happens, don't sleep. I'll be back before you know it."

She darted towards the infirmary, leaving her own backpack on the ground just a few meters away. Actually, she just threw it while she ran, so she could lose extra weight and gain speed. Just like she said, she didn't take long before coming back. It was like she didn't even leave the courtyard. But she did, and she brought back the nurse with her.

"M-Miss, are you still okay? I'm back."

The nurse wasted no time, as she immediately went closer to the girl and applied first aid on her head most especially. And after patching her up, the nurse would then use some healing magic on her.

All the while, Adelene stood behind the nurse, watching worriedly.

Miya sat there only turning her head as the girl's bag hit the ground near her. Guess she really was going to get the nurse. Miya didn't blame her. The girl didn't look like she could help her to the nurse's office anyway. Miya was glad the girl decided to help get her things and that brought a small smile to her face. Least some people were nice and not stuck up at the Academy.

After a few minutes one of the nurses and the girl returned. The nurse started to clean the wound, which got a hissing noise from Miya from the alcohol being poured on it. A cotton ball was put onto the wound and gauze wrapped around Miya's head, underneath her bangs and her hair that could hide it, to keep it from bleeding anymore. It had been a while since Miya had felt the warmth of healing magic and continued to sit in the same position as when the girl first left. After the nurse finished she stood up telling Miya to come by later when she could walk or if she felt sick or light headed, not to push herself before walking back to the Academy.

After the nurse left Miya looked up to the girl, her hair already pulled back and tired into a long pony tail for the nurse to work, and Miya did nothing but stared. She didn't know what to say. This girl took the time out of her day to help. Then again Miya had done just the same not a moment ago.

"....Thank you. Sorry if this was a bother. Still worth the pain and blood if I can teach a few bullies not to pick on a pair of kids because they wouldn't fully manifest their powers yet. Wouldn't you agree? Oh and....I'm Miya. Mind if I get yours? Understand if you don't want to and just want to continue your day."

Miya tried to sound like she was fine and didn't mind if the girl walked off, but her eyes and tone told a different story. That she wanted the girl to stay and chat for a bit. Miya knew she wasn't going anywhere from this spot anytime soon and would enjoy the company. If she ended up alone, well, least she didn't have to worry about overheating someone. The area was starting to get slightly warmer but Miya was managing to keep it in check since she had to keep focus a lot more then normal so managing her body heat was easy. That and she kind just exploded a lot of it and burned the grass.

Adelene let out a really heavy, really long breath, when the nurse was finally done. She went back to the girl's side when they were left alone again, sitting down beside her.

Miya. Her name was Miya.

Miya didn't even have to ask for her to stay, she had no plan of leaving her like this.

"It's not a bother, don't worry. I don't have important stuff to do anymore, and it's not like I can leave you like this." She sighed, shifting closer. She was eyeing the bandages, wondering how Miya's wound was. She hoped the healing magic closed it well.

"I think it's just right that you tried to stop the bullies. It's just unfortunate that you had to get hurt." Worry was all over her face. But when Miya asked her name, she tried to shoot her a soft smile, before turning her head straight to look at the skies. "Name's Adelene. Really, I don't mind staying until we can go back to wherever you need to go so you could rest well."

"You're a strange one. In a good way."

Randomly keeping a stranger company was weird. Then again Miya did walk into someone's home and basically keep a stranger company so she didn't have much room to speak. Speaking of which she had to call Eve later and see how things were going.

When the girl, Adelene if she heard right, sat next to her Miya relaxed herself a bit. Miya noticed that she was eyeing the bandages and was glad that it was easy for her to hide later. Right now though she didn't want to mess up her hair or reopen it on accident so she left it alone.

"Wasn't expecting one of them to wield Earth magic. Fire can do many things. Against a flying rock might as well be nearly useless. Well....Unless you purposely hold back to keep others from getting sprayed with flaming rocks. They didn't get off scott free though. Can't wait to see what kind of wigs those girls wear. That'll be funny to see."

Miya smiled and realized that she sounded a little too...Violent. She didn't want Adelene to think she was some kind of brute or anything either. She seemed to be a nice person and didn't want to frighten someone off. Letting out a small sigh Miya looked at Adelene.

"So what's your story? Everyone is brought to the Island for a reason after all. Understand if you don't want to share. Mine isn't exactly all that pretty. To put things short and simple I wield a vast reserve of fire magic but have difficulties controlling it. Let's just say....Having excessive body heat from that reserve tends to draw attention to spontaneously setting things on fire. By the way if it gets too hot let me know and I'll try to lower my body heat. Even with all these wards and special clothing it still leaks out time to time."

Her normal warning to people who are near her. Well, she didn't want to harm anyone either and didn't know if she could focus well enough to prevent her body heat from rising. Seemed okay for now though nothing was smoking from what she could see...Expect the grass she just burned.

"Oh." Earth magic was hard to beat. While Adelene had no direct experience to it, it wasn't too hard to imagine what it would be like to fight against it. Fire can't beat earth, as far as she knew. Flying rocks would just turn into meteorites, which would be more dangerous.

She laughed when Miya added that she scored on the bullies as well. She didn't think it was violent or disturbing, those horrible people most likely deserved it anyway. Adelene had a more violent side, to be honest. But she wasn't going to reveal that she can become trigger-happy with her guns when she loses control over herself. Thankfully, it hasn't happened in this island yet.

"Most people come here to study their abilities, huh? Don't worry, I'll tell you when it gets hot. I don't want you feeling guilty about another incident," she said, giggling. Miya was asking how she got here, maybe it wasn't so bad if she'd tell her the surface of her story at least.

Honestly, Adelene wasn't the type to get along well with other girls, she always found herself irritated with most of them, but Miya had a good impression on her. Hopefully they'll get along well, even after today. So on her next birthday, next year, there'll be another girl with her celebrating. "It's not a good story either, how I got here. I was... running away from someone who wanted my power... Only after six years, I received a letter from the academy and thought I could hide here from him."

After loosening up around such a great guy like Leon, and after her drinking contest with Lochlann, it's become a little bit easier to talk about and remember the past. She's become less paranoid about people.

"I understand that anxiety... That we might hurt people because of our powers. But that's why we're doing our best to be better at them, right?" she chuckled.

Miya smiled knowing that her heat wasn't bothering Adelene, or that she wasn't bothered but laughing at how Miya dealt with the bullies. Man that name sounded weird in her head. Too... Proper for Miya's tastes. Miya listened in as Adelene started to talk about her own origins to the Island and Miya simply raised her arm and wrapped it around Adelene in a small and quick comforting hug before her arm returns to the where it was previously resting on her knee.

"Wanted your power? Well not surprised there are people out there who could steal another's power if they wanted. Must be pretty special to warrant that type of attention. Then again I have a room that's in solitude away from the rest of the dorms with enough magical wards to prevent a super nova."

The way Miya talked showed she was still trying to accept her own dangerous nature, while bragging at the same time. She was proud, but still afraid of her flames. Till she could fully control it, well, she'd always be afraid. When Adelene brought up anxiety Miya looked at her bewildered.

"Ya know I never thought of it like that. Makes more sense then the loads of crap my private instructors have ever given me. Seriously, thanks. This is weird. You're the second person I've met in a short time whose made me feel welcome. Speaking of powers, what do you do? As I've mentioned all I got is this."

Miya held out her hand as a small flame began to form and dance in the palm of her hand. The flame too from a wild frenzied shape into a question mark. The flame disappeared not long after since she had started to feel a little light headed from trying to show off. Reaching into one of her back pack Miya pulls out a bottle of water and takes a drink from it. Replacing the cap Miya lets out an annoyed sigh.

"Know what sucks? Not being able to drink cold water. Unless I'm sucking on an ice cube anyway. Oh and not to be a bother but uhhh, you got a nickname of sorts? Adelene just sounds...A little too proper and I feel weird saying it. Don't get me wrong! It's a nice name! Just when I say it, it kind of feels weird. Hope you don't take it the wrong way."

Adelene tilted her head at Miya when she said it wasn't anxiety. "Oh." That was just her then. Because Adelene was anxious. Very anxious. Constantly anxious. Even while trying to have fun.

She started to fidget on her own fingers. She made sure she'd listen to Miya carefully, and she would laugh at the casual stuff, like when Miya pointed out that she can't drink cold water normally. "Aww, you're right. That sucks. Especially after training and that's all your body's craving for."

While she wasn't entirely comfortable right now, she wasn't feeling terrible or awkward either. Adelene didn't get along very well with other females for some reason, so this level of easiness around Miya was already quite a milestone.

"Ah, some of my friends call me 'Addy,'" she took note that these friends were all guys and Eph, which was probably weird. She gave Miya an apologetic look after that, shaking her head a little. "Sorry but... I don't like telling people about my powers right away. I did mention I have anxiety about it."

Leon was the only person she opened up to about her powers after only a very short span of time, and that was because their powers were similar and she didn't have to worry. Counting him, there were only two dear people who knew so much about her.

"Maybe I'll tell you about them next time. Hey, how are you feeling?"
