Miya wasn't bothered with how Addy was reacting to seeing all her scars. Very few have actually seen them so someone staring at seeing them wasn't all that bothersome. Actually it made Miya feel special and not a freak. Like the scars weren't even there and she was normal. Well normal person who can use fire.

"Thanks for the vote of confidence."

Miya smiled and loved the confidence being given to her. Miya had another reason to make sure to master her flames. So she could provide a show for Addy what she could do and make the flames dance for her. She couldn't wait.

As Addy talked about her own scar, Miya just watched intently and listened. Wow...this person wanted her powers that badly? Enough to destroy an entire village. Wow this guy had to be rather powerful and well off to have mechanical animals. Sounded like some weird anime or manga and a battle scene in it. Miya had to admit the scar Addy had looked good on her. Like a small accent to her form.

"Wow. Evil villain with mechanical animals? Then a knight in shining armor to the rescue? Wow that's amazing! Makes me want to ask if you got a prince you can go all love eye at. Man wish I had a knight or prince I could stare at. Oh well guess Mr. April will have to do still."

Sarcasm was in her voice at the end about Mr. April. Well, it was true but she wasn't going to let Addy know that. Well, it wouldn't hurt. Girls needed stuff to stare at too after all.

"Thanks. For not going all weird after seeing my scars I mean. And everything else too. But mostly that. It's comforting to know people out there aren't disgusted this sort of thing. Know the shitty part about them? Taking a shower hurts if I don't adjust the water right. Too cold and it stings. Too hot and it makes me feel like that day again."

"Ahahaha... It wasn't a knight or anything... Just a special agent after the guy trying to capture me. They took me in for a couple of days and then I received the letter from the academy. Ah... I suppose I do have knight figures here right now, haha!"

It wasn't a good story. That night, she was in a village and was caught in a festival. Everyone was cheering. The fireworks were beautiful, but then they were followed by explosions from Seth's weapons and they attacked the village and destroyed it. People were killed, and it was because of her. She shook her head to shoo away the images. The images of her knight figures were better things to think of.

"Anyway... don't worry about it. Scars aren't really weird or anything, they're just memories etched in our skin." She chuckled, wondering if what she just said made sense. "...I wanna watch you train some time. Don't worry about me, I'm pretty sure I know how to avoid flames."

Miya let out another "Aww", though a bit more jokingly at the change from knight to agent. Miya couldn't help making things sound romantic at times from her own loneliness. When Addy mentioned she had her own knight figures Miya's eyebrow raised and she leaned in closer.

"Knight figures ehh? What kind of guys are they? They cute? Handsome? Muscular? Mmmmm muscular hunks."

Miya's eyes would be hearts right now if they could. She was just a normal teenage girl with her own little fantasies of handsome men who would sweep her off her feet and let her live a normal life. Alas that's all they were till she got control of her powers, fantasies.

Miya was worried at the mention of watching her train. It wasn't that she had terrible control, it was just sometimes she didn't understand the phrase "too much." She would just keep going and going till she couldn't control her flames and....Well things tend to happen after that. She wasn't going to say no, but didn't exactly want to say yes. Well...What's the worse that could happen?

"Thanks. I just don't know what people will think when they see a fire user with this many scars inflicted by their own powers. Leaves one to wonder ya know? That and, well, you see the lengths I go to keep them hidden right? I don't want to end up scaring off someone who might take an interest in me. As for watching me train, well, we gotta wait till my head is all fixed up. Healing magic does wonders, but the human body is the best at healing itself. Scars are a big proven part of that ya know."

Adelene's face instantly turned its reddest when Miya asked about her knight figures. Wide eyes show she wasn't expecting that.

"Th-They're... They're... yeah, they're good-looking..." Good-looking was probably an understatement. She was talking about Leon and Lochlann, two people who have always been there when she needed company, and to her eyes, they're more than just good-looking...

They were never going to know about that though.

On a more literal sense though, Adelene thought Leon could always be more of a knight than Lochlann can ever be... considering he really was one. Inevitably, she was taken back to that moment in the picnic event when Mr. Trinidad slapped her, and Leon raised his sword for her, and that was probably one of the sweetest things she's ever experienced.

When it came to gauging who was better though, Adelene would just be left confused because honestly, no one was better than the other. They were both her best friends, and she cared for them the same way.

She snapped out when Miya went back to speaking about scars again, and she patted her on the shoulder in a reassuring manner. "I agree, you should get yourself healed first. But you already know you don't scare me, so just call whenever, and I'll do my best to see you. Hmm..."

She grabbed her phone from her pocket and waved it beside her head. "Can I have your number? At least this way, I can also just check on you if you're okay or not. You might need some help renewing those bandages if the injury makes you dizzy."

Miya got a playful look on her face as Addy stammered about when talking about her "knights." It didn't take much for Miya to figure out that Addy cared about whoever she was thinking about. In the manner though was something different, but Miya had read and watched enough romance to tell it was more friend-like then lover-like.

Miya herself had never dated. While she wanted to, her powers frightened her. After that one afternoon with Stefan, Miya had never been treated like that before. It was new to her and the feeling she had got was wonderful. She wanted that feeling again, but with someone who wasn't just being generally nice. Or just really, really handsome. Her mouth would start watering soon if she kept thinking about Stefan in a bathing suit like she was.

When Addy pulled out her phone, Miya grabbed her own in response. Despite all the black Miya was wearing, her phone case had a chibi looking dog on it inside of a heart. Miya displayed her number for Addy and already had everything set up to place Addy's into her own phone.

"Sounds good to me. Be weird having someone in my room. Normally I let my heat flow freely while inside as the magic wards prevent it from causing damage. That and my dorm is entirely fire resistant. Though kinda sucks because it's away from the normal dorms. You ever walk past what looks like a lawn keeper's garage but just prettier? That's my dorm. Was made after....I almost burned down the dorms in my sleep when I was younger and had barely any control."

The memory was a horrible one that haunted her to this day. The scream of the kid she almost killed. She was never more afraid of herself till that day. It also was a driving force for her to push herself to be better and control her powers more. Now she had another reason to add on to that.

A friend she could call her own.

Adelene had gladly exchanged numbers with Miya, and after that, she made sure to save it right in her phone. Her head tilted to an angle when Miya told her about her dorm, keeping her quite intrigued as she tried to recall if she ever encountered such a lone building. Maybe once or twice.

She'd say it was interesting, if only Miya didn't tell her about a dark memory. Her brows wrinkled upwards. Miya didn't look too dejected or hateful towards that memory, but she went ahead and held her hands anyway, giving them a gentle squeeze.

She understood the feeling of being afraid of yourself. While she's never really tried losing control of her powers, there had been times when she's ended up on the brink of it, and people had been there to snap her out before she could lose herself. But she's studied about her origins and she knew how dangerous it was if she ever goes berserk. After all, how can one stop when someone has infinite ammo of guns and explosives?

"I'm pretty sure you're much better now than you were before. And you'll keep getting better and better." She put on a smile for Miya, to tell her 'hey, it's okay now'. And then she pulled her hands back.

She frowned a little, realizing that the nurse has already taken too long being away. She looked towards the door, waiting for the said staff. After all, they were here because Miya needed more treatment. Also, how can they be reassured that she'll be fine if the nurse wasn't around?

"...Maybe I should look for the nurse..? She should check on you better."

Miya was...Taken back a bit by the small gesture. Miya was alright with the memory and no one blamed her. It had taken years to accept everything and she saw it as a learning experience. But the comfort of someone who truly understood was wonderful and Miya wouldn't replace it for the world.

"Can only go higher and higher. Well in skill. Pretty sure I can make my flames go pretty high already. I really do appreciate what you're doing Addy. I really mean it. Everyone needs someone to help cheer them up from time to time. Glad I met you, ya know?"

To be honest Miya was getting a little bothered by how much attention she was getting from Addy. Miya felt fine, but that could be her just pushing herself to not feel anything. That and her naturally high body heat made it difficult for her to feel things from time to time. Miya just nodded.

"Yeah. Might be a good idea. Can't tell with my heat if I'm alright or not sometimes. Best left to the expert I suppose. I'll wait here then."

The shorter girl admired that positive thinking. If it were her in Miya's shoes, she'd probably be doing the same thing, although she won't be so optimistic about her abilities anymore. Although technically she was in similar shoes in actuality, just not exactly the same.

She nodded when Miya said it was okay for her to go. She hopped off the bed, patting Miya on the shoulder again. "Don't sleep, okay? But it might be best for you to lean on some pillows on the headboard. I'll be back faster than a sniper bullet travelling a mile!"

And so she left, hoping she'd find the nurse immediately. Thankfully, she didn't have to search for her anymore, after immediately seeing that she was walking back to the clinic's direction just after she went out of the door. Adelene waited for the nurse on that spot, before coming back inside with her. She waved at Miya once they were back

"Ma'am, can you do a more thorough checkup on Miya here?" she asked the nurse. "The treatment a while ago in the courtyard was technically just first aid, right? So uh... yeah. More checkup. So I can maybe take her back to her dorm before it gets dark outside."

"Better if I stay up. Better to not risk the chance of me falling asleep that way."

Miya watched as Addy left the room and suddenly felt a little lonely. She had only known the girl for a short time, but int hat time she felt like she had known her for years. She wasn't being judged, or told off, or anything negative. It was weird. Hell Addy even seemed to enjoy seeing her scars and thought of them as pretty badass. That made Miya's day.

Miya started to think about how many more years she'd have to train to master her powers before Addy came back in with the nurse. Miya looked up at the nurse, who had placed her hand on Miya's forehead to feel for a temperature. Miya at that spoke up mentioning about her body heat, which the nurse nodded before walking over to a nearby computer and looked up Miya's medical records.

During this, Miya's gaze returned to Addy wondering what had blessed her this day to meet someone so nice and cool. Well, she hoped when she felt better that they could do more together. For now, Miya would have to take what she could get.

"Ahh, the Fire Girl. Well, since normal methods won't work on you because of your body heat, I have to go get a few things from the main office. Give me a few minutes."

The nurse walked out in a hurry. Miya had forgot they had to get special things made to help her and later fire wielders who had the same problem she did. The nurse came back with a bag and set it down on the small desk in the room. It didn't take her long to find a thermometer. After cleaning it the nurse walked over and asked Miya to say "Ah" and placed it under Miya's tongue. After a couple minutes it was removed and the nurse took a look.

"Hmm...Well your records show your natural body temp is roughly 142.1 with all the wards and your coat on. This came out reading 151.4. Given how the room doesn't feel like a sauna with your coat off I think it's safe to say you are running a fever. You should be fine going from here to your dorm as long as Miss Cross stays with you. I could call for an escort as well if you girls want."

The mention of an escort was tempting, but Miya had to think for a moment before remembering that actually getting inside her dorm would not only be a pain but dangerous for most people. She kept no wards nor anything while inside the dorm. To her it felt like a nice summer day while others it felt like over 100 degree weather. Like way over 100 degree weather.

"Umm....About my dorm."

"Oh right. Can't have that not that I think about it. Can't let you stay alone either, and there isn't anyone here at night who can keep watch over you. I'll go make a few calls to see if someone wouldn't mind staying here tonight to keep watch. Excuse me girls."

The nurse walked out of the room and Miya let out a frustrated noise. This is why she hated herself when she got hurt. She couldn't be left alone, yet she couldn't have someone watch her. Her stupid body heat was a pain in the ass and it pissed her off so much. Miya was able to keep her cool for now fortunately.

"As you see, that's the misfortune of my powers. I live alone and when I'm hurt, it becomes difficult to take care of me if I might need to be checked in on. Most people unless they have the same heat resistance can't stand being in my dorm for more then ten minutes or so unless I'm wearing my wards. My life sucks."

Miya hung her head as she stared at the ground, not really sure of what to do now.

Adelene settled herself beside the bed. The talk about body heat was enough to make her anxious, and even though the nurse confused her with all the talk, she understood the fever part, and the part that Miya can't be left alone yet no one can stay for long with her either.

A frown crossed her face, and as she sat down on the bed again, she patted Miya on the shoulder in hopes to lighten things up. The nurse left again, and Adelene thought she could grab this moment to speak again. "I'm sorry, Miya. I bet... I can't watch over you in your dorm then? But if you can stay here for the night, you can count on me to be here too! I have no important stuff to do tonight anyway."

She did her best to replace her frown with another smile. Can't let the negativity thrive. While she was doing this to comfort Miya, she also genuinely wanted to help. It didn't matter that they just met.

"When the nurse comes back, I'll tell her I'll stay, so if she was able to get anyone, then we can take turns watching over you. If she haven't, well... then you'll be stuck with me straight until morning." She giggled.
