Appearance Description: An old lady with a sense of style, Amelia is the embodiment of all that was hip...in the 1930s. Amelia's family was a rather poor one, and so clothes from a decade ago were sort of the in thing for them. This fashion strategy of sorts carried through all the way until now, where Mr. Gelling can often be found in a 1935 tweed suit and a short-brimmed hat, wearing those silly fully circular glasses from the same time period.
Personality Description: A cool cat and customer if there ever was one, Mr. Gelling is the epitome of class and etiquette, something that has been long lost to the youth of the world around her. Although something of a prude, Mr. Rhodes is meticulous, cunning, and more than happy to share her skills with those who are bettering the world. She will stop at nothing to make sure her clients are safe, sound, and well taken care of, so long as Starlight Academy stands to make the supernatural of the world better people.
Of course, being 70+ years old is bound to make you at least a little bit senile, and although she occasionally will give you the "back in my day" speech, you can count on her being just as self-depreciating in the name of humor. She is not a dry humored woman by any means, but simply very dedicated to her craft. Dry humor is all she has time for in the field.

Apart from a couple of innate magical senses that all mages have, Amelia has no externally manifesting ability, a rare problem for awakened mages. These magical senses include time and prime sight, giving her the ability to see a couple of days in either direction of the timeline, and detecting those beings that have magical potential, including the nature of that potential.
Her major ability includes fine mana control, allowing the mage to handle and understand magical artifacts with an understanding usually given only to the creator. Her avatar automatically tunes to these artifacts, letting her use them, even she has only used the device once. While living creatures are artifacts of sorts, Mr. Gelling can only understand their ability, but not use it. Most often, the devices she uses come from the Chronologist library at Starlight Academy, and at safehouses around the world meant for the safe harbor of magical beings and items.
Biography: Mr. Gelling is a naturally born mage from Horizon, born in 1942 at height of Hitler's Third Reich, and at a time where magical influence was at its greatest extent, and not necessarily for the better. Although never directly involved, Amelia's parents were, helping to shape occult and supernatural policy within the Allied nations. This political family is what would drive Amelia to become involved in magical policy over her life. Despite their position of power, the Gelling's were not exactly what one would call rich. Not poor by any means, but definitely not in an advantageous position.
For almost all of her early life, Amelia was a student of Starlight Academy, as well as one of its residents in the early 50s and 60s. Having come from a political and magical family, Amelia knew quite a few things about the world that other kids may not have. Despite this knowing, Amelia did not have much magical power overall, and no Tellurian tradition wanted to train her, thinking their resources would be wasted. Academically, Amelia was great in her studies, but from an abilities perspective, she may as well have been powerless.
A few mages however, family friends and, Aurora Silivasi included, worked to at least include Amelia in their magical studies on Horizon occasionally. Although they confirmed that once again, Amelia did not have much in the way of actual magical ability, she had an affinity for handling quintessence and mana better than many accomplished mages.
She simply didn't have an outlet for the gift. Amelia was given two opportunities. One, become a Chronologist, and hunt the world for magical artifacts, using magical artifacts, or two, take a job with the academy.
She took both offers, becoming a recruiter for the academy, collecting artifacts for the school. Living artifacts. Students, teachers, problematic citizens. Anyone the academy could use to further the magical world.
Mr. Gelling has been at it for over 45 years, and she is now supremely good at it.
