The personality of the water spirit, named Naunet, within Amaya:

- Mature, kind, and helpful. Tries to keep some pressure off Amaya. Responsible, and attempts to find ways for Amaya to release all her stress without being dangerous about it. Very motherly and attached to “her girl”. Reasonable. However, she has a slight mischevious streak just like Amaya – but certainly less intense. Her idea of evil is “oooohoho, yes! Drink straight out of the carton! SHOW HIM WHO’S BOSS!”. Can sometimes be persuaded by Amaya to let her do her crazy activities as she is certainly less stubborn than her host, not that she has a choice in the matter. A general big sister figure.

Powers:

<details><summary>Spirit of Water:</summary>
- Is able to control and manipulate forms of liquid water, with slight ability towards ice and gaseous forms of the element as well
- Control is not great, but she is improving quickly and has a teacher in her mind
- As she hasn’t reached her full potential yet, can only create small water manipulations and constructs
- A few examples are small, hand-held ice sculptures; small globes of water; and bubbles underwater to protect non-waterproof items or give breath to someone without kissing them (explained below)
- Is able to breath underwater
- By kissing someone, she can temporarily give them the ability to breathe underwater as well. This lasts the duration of the thread and fades after it has been officially ended
- Occasionally has power surges that result in various mishaps and accidental power usages, ranging from small drink splashes to full-on water pipe explosions
- Can communicate with the Water Spirit within her, an intelligent being later introduced as Naunet

<details><summary>Marine Telekinesis:</summary>

- Can only communicate with them; currently cannot control them or shift into them, etc. </details>

Biography:

<details><summary>Credit to Sashi for this Intro[/i]</summary>
For many years, elemental spirits were born from various nature sources to assist the gods. They did not have names, but they could create bonds based on when they were born and how much experience they had. Thousands of years ago, there were three such spirits. These spirits were formed via the same cloud. They would be the Storm Siblings; their job was to assist the weather gods by bringing about their respective talents. They each had powers in relation to storms and worked in correlation. They did their jobs for thousands of years with ease. However, in recent times, they got...well, bored.

There were so many elemental spirits that they barely needed to do much, and they had been doing the same damn thing for thousands of years. They just about had enough. That was when the lightning spirit suggested something: as spirits, they could possess someone and live their lives as someone else. While they technically weren't supposed to do this, they eventually agreed to the plan after some debating. They would spread out across the world and find a person worthy of being their host. Then they would find a way to meet together in the same place. With the agreement sealed, the spirits separated to find a host…

—-

- The Water Spirit’s host was named Amaya Caldwell
- Born to a pair of very successful parents
- Parents were always busy with work and rarely home/spending quality time together and with Amaya; generally distant
- Pressured Amaya constantly to keep her grades up and loaded pressure onto her. Degraded her for bad grades and scolded her constantly for being less than perfect
- Was also an only child and had no pets outside of a large fish tank. Became fascinated with marine life
- Due to the stress at even an early age, Amaya had to find an outlet before she broke the door from slamming it or crashed under the weight of her expectation.
- Found this outlet at a very young age, and it was the life of a dare-devil – the catalyst was successfully ramping a toy truck on her tricycle
- Slowly got worse over the years, though she also managed to stay alert and top of the class in her school work
- Kept up a responsible demeanor during the day and a rebellious one at night
- Became interested in sports and found the physical exertion to be good for lighter, less dangerous stress relief. Eventually joined the swim team and was very good and competitive in this
- Continued to be intrigued by marine life
- Commit small petty crimes, such as graffiti and stealing sodas and chips
- Arrested once for illegal driving (and while speeding considerably, at that). Parents bailed her out, the arrest was kept under wraps due to parents’ money and status, and the pressure on Amaya increased tenfold
- However, the arrest scared her, and she stopped her stunts cold turkey for a bit, fearing for her academic record
- The only reason that the school didn’t let Amaya skip grades is because of the input of a guidance counsellor. Amaya had visited with the woman a few times for brief things, and she knew that – especially with the pressure of her parents – the increase in level would not be wise
- Still, couldn’t handle the pressure, and she slowly relapsed into old behavior
- One of her groups of “friends” – this one mostly delinquents – were just beginning to pull her into alcohol at age 14 when the incident happened:

- Snuck out with friends to cliffs at the beach, very late at night. Were planning to go cliff-jumping even though it was so dark
- Amaya was first to jump, wanting to show off
- Friends insisted it was deep enough – and it definitely was, at over 20 feet deep – but didn’t account for the incoming storm nor the waves and strong currents it caused
- Amaya was to give friends the signal to jump when she was out of the way
- The signal never came.
- Friends panicked and called 911
- Police helicopters and boats soured the beach for her until the storm made it too dangerous to continue
- No sign of Amaya the entire time

- Amaya had been saved by the Water Spirit entering her body, which happened just as she was desperate and sucking in water, the waves having knocked the air from her chest very quickly.
- Spirit had been watching her for a long while and had deemed the child a satisfactory host due to her determination to do great things and her fascination with water – and also because she thought Amaya could really use some intense mother-henning
- Water couldn’t save Amaya completely because a mischievous wind spirit was playing too, but it was able to give the girl the ability to breathe underwater and keep her safe from sharp stones
- Police found Amaya 2 days after they began search and miles farther down the coast, washed up on a beach. Was breathing easily and had only sustained minimal rock-induced injury
- Well-being was miraculous and Amaya made a full recovery – and quickly, at that
- Previously brown hair had turned an intriguing shade of grey-blue after, even hair that had already grown. Public story was that she had dyed it just prior to the accident.

- Was a couple months before the scout found her
- In that time, Amaya had countless “unexplainable” situations that she caused, from blowing window dampness into a sphere by accident to having the school water fountain explode in the hall as she passed by, a wave of water thus flooding the halls and postponing classes for 3 days (score!)
- Finally, just as it was getting too hard to hide, Amaya received the invite to Starlight Academy. Parents let her go due to education and control potentials of it.
