Makara glanced around every so often, and eventually caught sight of a rather young boy who appeared to be watching him. Makara had a good thirty years on the boy, but less than half a foot in height.

Despite the fact that Makara looked dead, he didn't actually look dead because he was dead - he'd just always looked dead. Even before he'd actually died he'd looked skeletal and thin, as gaunt as any undead. It meant people often guessed the truth about him without him having to say it, although people rarely guessed the nature of exactly how he was dead.

He let himself drift over to the boy, looking down at him curiously. Alone. Alone and quite young, which wasn't terribly unusual. Most students seemed to arrive not long after they hit puberty, or when they were closer to becoming adults. Plenty of powers and species traits only woke up then, in what was no doubt a survival mechanic. A sixteen year old could protect itself, a baby couldn't.

"Are you liking the sea?" He asked, his voice quiet.

Roman realised he must have been staring rather rudely when the teacher began to walk towards him. He tried to pretend he hadn't been looking at him, but it failed. Why had he signed up for this? He supposed it wasn't his fault; he wasn't to know he'd be nauseous. Small talk might take his mind off it. Roman mentally told himself he was overreacting, everybody seemed fine but him.

At the question, Roman realised he probably looked as anxious as he felt, and with that thought embedded, he gave the teacher a small smile. At least the man wasn't too tall. In fact, he wasn't tall at all. "Umm... in some ways," Roman couldn't say yes because watching it was weird but he couldn't say no. He did like the boat, and the idea of sea life, but the water itself was worrying. "I mean, I like the cruise." He wondered how the teacher felt about the sea. Probably not the same way he did, since he watched it. "Do you like it?"

Makara had never been particularly interested in what was or wasn't rude. For a teacher, he was too passive. His eyes were down a lot of the time, and he rarely met someone's eyes. He was almost permanently silent, speaking only when he felt the need. He did not make small talk - not even with students. If he was talking with someone, it meant he had some purpose behind it, even if that purpose was 'making sure a young student didn't feel left out'.

"I don't know. I had never been on a boat like this before - it's unusual." It was certainly strange. He had not arrived on the island by boat as most people had, arriving on the Manta Carlos islands under his own power, literally flying in.

"It's strange to walk." He admitted. Even after several days at sea, he'd not quite gotten his sea legs. He'd have been far worse on a smaller boat.

Roman was glad that he wasn't the only one who wasn't really to be on a boat. Walking wasn't his problem; it was the way his stomach went as he watched the waves, no matter how gentle they may be. He had to admit, after running round each of the storeys, marvelling at the sheer amount of entertainment, and (his personal favourite) enjoying the food to offer, Roman was surprised he disliked the sea itself. He could live in this cruise ship if it just stayed still.

"Unusual in a good way?" he asked when his elder finished talking, his mind wandering once again to his previous adventure, as he liked to think of it. It definitely wasn't what he imagined when he thought of a boat. It was better, in Roman's opinion. A hotel on water. Complete with pool (better than swimming in the sea). A perfect first holiday. "I think it's awesome," a grin formed on his face, replacing the small smile.

"Name's Mizuko," the Japanese girl introduced herself to Alice, taking a bow, before turning to Tanau and taking a slight bow as well. "Nice to see you again, Tanau-san."

The other guy that had shouted and caused the three to gather seemed like he was still asleep, or half-asleep, so Mizuko's attention was quickly pulled away from him. Right now, she was focused on her new acquaintance and her friend. Who knows, they might decide to go with her later to find the casino. "So. Field trip. This is really nice, don't you think?" she addressed the two. The breeze was pretty strong, so she kept one hand against her right ear, holding her hair there so it won't cover her face.

"Unusual in a... different way." For him it was neither good nor bad. He couldn't take advantage of many of the accommodations on board. He didn't sleep, and had no need for a fancy bed. He ate rarely, and had no need for that either. So much of what a cruise was remained lost to him. "It is simply not what I am used to." He admitted.

"But what matters is that the students are enjoying it." And it did sound like he was enjoying it. "The food is good?"

'Different is good,' Roman thought to himself at the comment handed to him. It wasn't exactly something he was used to either, so he could understand where the member of staff was coming from. He never let the grin falter, wanting to prove he was enjoying himself. Out of the corner of his eye, he could see the other group, not really doing much interesting.

"Yeah," Roman nodded, "That's the best bit." He couldn't wait to see the actual triangle though. From stories he'd heard, this was going to be exciting. How it was going to be educational though, he couldn't wait to find out.

Grant sighed to himself as he leaned against the railing, looking out over the seemingly endless sea. Grant smiled to himself as he patted the cruise ships railing with a hand, he had always suggested that they should take the students out on a cruise, and enough teachers finally agreed with him. The nostalgia for him was strong, though he wasn't allowed into the helm. He was fine though, he enjoyed the spray of the sea, the light salty taste of the water.

He chuckled to himself, glancing around at the sky. Nice and clear, thanks in part to Grant's power. Not that anyone else would know, since he kept it under wraps. Grant was a tad worried though. He knew that the Triangle was mystical in origin, and he wasn't sure he'd be able to disperse the weather as well as he had been. Oh well, he'd deal with that when it came to it.

The captain sighed, tilting his hat up. He seemingly looked past clouds that were in the sky.

"Ah'm still 'ere boys. Thinkin' about'cha." He said quietly, a sad smile on his face and a far-away look in his visible eye.

It really wasn't Sorin's style. Taking time off like this, putting aside his schedule for some cruise trip. Yes, the Bermuda Triangle was interesting and he was certain to get extra credit for the report he planned to fill in on the supernatural activities of the area, but he would personally prefer it if the school hadn't poured their resources into an inter-dimensional cruise ship...

Either way, the young man could currently be found on deck, sunbathing. The strong rays on his skin kept Radiant quiet and since his bonding with the creature, he had honestly come to enjoy the feeling of the rays on his skin. It almost felt soft, or liquid in a way. Soothing. He could practically feel his body strengthen just by being here. He didn't wear sunglasses, sunglares were a thing of the past for him, but he showed many signs of the young tourist otherwise. White shorts, barefoot, a short-sleeved black buttonup which was currently, well, unbuttoned, hanging down freely on the sides of the sun lounger he currently found himself on.

Ahh... It was going to be a while before they actually got to anything worth seeing, wasn't it?

He was not so convinced that different was good. Different was just different. Sometimes good, sometimes bad. The Manta Carlos Islands were a different that was so often good, but it would never give him the taste of prahok on his tongue. There were peppers, but rarely the right kind. The islands were not his home, no matter how much easier life might be.

"I have heard rumors about the triangle, but I've never been." He'd never experienced it. He didn't know what to make of it, if it was true or not. He let his eyes wander for a moment over the deck, over the other students. Mostly adults, or near adults. No one to be friendly with such a young boy.

"My name is Makara. I'm a teacher here." He paused, then gave a little bow. It was his custom. It had always been his custom, and holding hands to shake them had always been strange.
