Private Finished [AGoDR] The Woods

An ornate, gold trimmed message was delivered early one morning, naming this one of several meeting spots. What appeared to be a young man with teal-colored hair stood nearby with a blank stare and calm demeanor, waiting.

"Dear sir, ma'am, or any other address of your choice,

You have been nominated by an anonymous source as a worthy partner to one of us Regalia, a race of guardian spirits. One of our number is willing to form a pact with you in return for taking part in a magical tournament across the island. Please see the rules listed below.

Alexis had been feeling very much like he had no real purpose for most of the summer break. So when the letter showed up offering, well, something for him to do he hadn't needed to think too much on it. The tournament would keep him occupied a lot better than just running his frustration out.

Of course he had been a little pissed off when he accidentally touched the excruciatingly painful gold trim on the letter but there he was walking out into the woods anyway to meet whomever it was. With a pair of gloves in his pocket just in case.

"Alright, i'm here for the tournament thing," he called out. It's not like there were too many people around. The reason for being there had to be pretty obvious. Maybe he wasn't as polite as he should have been but at least he had shown up in human form. That was something right?

He had been planning to go on patrol, but with the note, it appeared he had other plans. Going into the woods might have been a bit dangerous, but he might find something interesting instead.

There was another person there, who appeared just as clueless as he was. so there must be some sort of puppeteer about.

Cornelius Choróin

It was always nice to see somebody so prepared to join the tournament. It meant that they normally had less questions to ask. After going through the process several times, Cornelius had to admit that he was getting a little tired of it.

"Welcome," he said to the two people who had appeared. "Are you prepared to make your pacts now?"

Alexis glanced over at this other kid. He must have been there for the same thing. Alexis gave him a nod but his attention was quickly grabbed away by Cornelius approaching them.

There wasn't much hesitation on Alexis' part. He'd already made up his mind to join this tournament. "Yeah, I'm ready. What do we have to do and when do we start competing?"

He didn't even need to think about it. Jaxon was already in. This was defnindefi going to be some sort of adventure. They already had the weird mentor character right in front of him! "I''ll do it." He said quickly. He then paused. Maybe it would be good to hear what he had to do first.

"Simply standing still is enough," he said, already drawing forth his staff. The magic manifested itself as little, spiraling balls of light converging on the two participants. As the pacts and Divine Right settled, the light dimmed until it could be held fully within their mortal skins.
