[AGoDR] The Ballroom

An ornate, gold trimmed message was delivered early one morning, naming this one of several meeting spots. What appeared to be a young man with teal-colored hair stood nearby with a blank stare and calm demeanor, waiting.

"Dear sir, ma'am, or any other address of your choice,

You have been nominated by an anonymous source as a worthy partner to one of us Regalia, a race of guardian spirits. One of our number is willing to form a pact with you in return for taking part in a magical tournament across the island. Please see the rules listed below.

Note: As compensation, we will grant you with new abilities for participating. Please meet with the pact maker at one of the following locations at the appointed time."

The letter had arrived at her hotel room the evening before, she had essentially meant to toss it. However, that morning Zora had slipped it in her bag, put on her high heels and made her way to the Ballroom. Curiosity had gotten to her... even after all she had been through, the attacks, the craziness of the weeks before.. instinctively, Zora knew she should be more wary... but instead, here she was, standing in the middle of a beautiful ballroom waiting to see what happened next. Yes, she was slightly crazy it seemed.

With the letter in her backpack, Elisa made her way to the ballroom. It was one of the closer areas to her dorm, so she didn't take long, and soon she was inside.

I wonder if I'll ever dance in here, she wondered. Either as male or female me.

He had been waiting only a short time before his would-be contestants arrived. "Welcome," Cornelius said, his voice echoing a little in the vastness of the ballroom. "Are you prepared to make your pacts?"

"Pact? What kind of pact?" Zora asked the young man, who appeared from nowhere, very curiously as she eyed the other young woman who had moments earlier entered the empty ballroom where Zora had been waiting.

"This isn't something dangerous, is it? she asked somewhat hesitant about making pacts with people she didn't know.

She heard the man, and the idea of a pact seemed cool, but what did it entail? "I'm with her," Elisa said, pointing to the other woman in the room. "I'm not going to be in any danger, am I?"

Elisa did want to join though. they had made the effort to contact her, after all. she just needed to make sure.

Cornelius Choróin

Inwardly, Cornelius sighed a little but could not begrudge their distrusting nature. "The pacts are temporary," he said, repeating something he had already explained in the last day or two. Maybe even less time. "They will only last for the duration of the tournament and will fade unless you and your Regalia agree otherwise. No harm will come upon you. In return, you will gain Divine Right and temporary ability from the Regalia who chooses you. This, too, will fade unless you and them agree otherwise."

"Divine right?" Zora murmured somewhat uneasily. That sounded like something that could be potentially dangerous or powerful. Granted, her own powers were fading fast, and the idea of, even temporarily, having the ability to use magic properly sounded too good to be true. Looking at him, she felt no evil or malice coming from him, and decided to take the chance. Trusting that he meant them no harm.

"Okay, then. If it's not dangerous or permanent," she said, agreeing to everything as she took a step forward, and throwing caution to the wind, ready to make a pact with the strange man.

With out further prompting, she stepped up to the Man. "So how are we getting this pact?"

Cornelius Choróin

At the question, Cornelius raised his staff. Light haloed around the two students, spiraling lazily. After a moment, the momentum picked up, swirling like a golden tornado before dissipating into mist as the Divine Right settled. Cornelius shifted planes then, calling up the Regalia who had expressed interest in the pact to now go to their new partners.
