An ornate, gold trimmed message was delivered early one morning, naming this one of several meeting spots. What appeared to be a young man with teal-colored hair stood nearby with a blank stare and calm demeanor, waiting.

"Dear sir, ma'am, or any other address of your choice,

You have been nominated by an anonymous source as a worthy partner to one of us Regalia, a race of guardian spirits. One of our number is willing to form a pact with you in return for taking part in a magical tournament across the island. Please see the rules listed below.

It was almost inevitable they'd all end up going together. After all, they were all (at the moment) literally living in the same house, and each and every letter had been delivered at more or less an identical time.

Jude was suspicious. He supposed that kind of went with the territory, but he was also curious, and the meeting place was public, so why not go? It wasn't like they were being asked to wander out into the woods or into a shady part of town. It was the Academy.

But the moment Jude spotted the teal-haired man Jude literally jerked to a stop, his brain processing everything that had just slapped him in the face.

"Oh," Jude said, his voice very quiet. "Yep. He'... he's definitely the real deal." He could tell. This wasn't some random person with a bunch of shady conman powers or anything. He could feel that they were the contract master, could tell it as clearly as he could tell that his hair was a very silly color.

He was a Regalia apparently.

Broen was more skeptical than Jude, if that was possible. But he wasn't going to pass up a chance at getting some kind of power.

He glanced at Jude when he pointed out the teal haired guy. Following his gaze, Broen muttered under his breath. "Well that settles that, I guess. The fuck do we do now?"

Rory considered the teal-haired man, glancing at both Jude and Broen. Yep. This was odd, but it felt like a chance. This was... a little more like back home.

"Next most logical course of action is to introduce ourselves." She told Broen. Which felt a little silly but, hell, what else, right?

Rory wasn't really the type of person who waited around forever. She'd never been. Her solace was, if it didn't work, at least the other two would see why it didn't work.

So, with only minimum hesitation, she stepped over to the teal-haired man with, "pleasure to meet you, I'm Lorelai Phillips."

Regalia of the attending saint. Jude filed that away for later, glancing to Rory before back to the figure.

Alright, no time like the present.

"My name is Jud- Jude Genovese," he said, correcting himself before he'd gone too far. "And I guess I'm ready."

Broen shoved his hands in his pockets and went to chewing on his lip absentmindedly.

"Broen. And sure, as long as I'm not like gonna get mind controlled or some shit." He paused. "Or getting my soul sucked out."

"Very well." With a quick, split-second plane shift, he signaled to the other Regalia that the three had given their consent. Then, he waved his staff, enveloping the participants in light. It faded soon afterwards, bestowing both Divine Right and pact.

"Good luck."
