An ornate, gold trimmed message was delivered early one morning, naming this one of several meeting spots. What appeared to be a young man with teal-colored hair stood nearby with a blank stare and calm demeanor, waiting.

"Dear sir, ma'am, or any other address of your choice,

You have been nominated by an anonymous source as a worthy partner to one of us Regalia, a race of guardian spirits. One of our number is willing to form a pact with you in return for taking part in a magical tournament across the island. Please see the rules listed below.

|

Note: As compensation, we will grant you with new abilities for participating. Please meet with the pact maker at one of the following locations at the appointed time."

Shale was having more than a slight bit of trouble navigating to this supposed meeting spot, exceedingly grateful to the people he'd encountered along the way that managed to eventually direct him where he was supposed to go. Honestly, he had some pretty intense jitters, not knowing exactly what to expect. A fight was a real possibility, in which case the fact that it was daytime would hinder him immensely, considering he was fully blind right now. The gargoyle leaned against a light post and hummed nervously, waiting to see what would happen.

Klef was looking for something to distract herself from the fact that school would start tomorrow. Sure, she could gather up supplies for tomorrow or read up on books for her internship at the law firm, but it was pretty hard to pass up on the opportunity of new powers. Plus, games were fun, who doesn’t like fun. Juniper was not too keen on the idea of her navigating by herself, playing some strange game, so he walked her most of the way before taking a call. After literally everything that had happened the past few years with the virus and the monsters, her uncle did have a point. Nevertheless, she would walk several more blocks, clutching the letter. After turning left as instructed, Klef knew that she should be at the promised location. Not more than a few feet away was someone humming, his voice was familiar, but not familiar enough for her to immediately recognize.

“ Hey, you.” She said in an awkward tone, not wanting to jump to assumptions. “ You’re here to meet the pact maker too, right?.... I must sound crazy.”

Shale's ears were fairly sensitive, nothing truly supernatural, but certainly moreso than the human average, so he was able to heart Klef coming from a fair bit away. He tensed just slightly, more than ready to take on a fight if it came his way...or, well, that's what he told himself to remain calm. Her voice disarmed him somewhat, though; she was vaguely familiar to him as well. He was just about to greet her when Cornelius announced himself, and he turned towards the voice, obviously on edge. "I, uhh...I mean...yeah, I am. Am I fighting right now, or...? In any case, I think I'm ready."

Just as she was going to say yes, Shale mentioned something of fighting this man. She raised her eyebrow, wondering if Juniper missed a part while reading the letter. Her confusion was followed by a shrug and a “ why not?"

Cornelius Choróin

"There will be no physical fights at this time," Cornelius said. "In any case-" He raised his staff and light erupted around the two. As Divine Right settled with the new pacts, the magic sank into their bones. The light faded, leaving the two looking the same as they did but different. There was a certain air that Divine Right gave, perhaps only noticeable to the supernatural, but it was there nonetheless.

I will PM you your Regalia now.
