Broen chewed on his lip again, thinking hard. He crossed his arms across his chest and leveled a cold stare right back at Aslan.

"We finally fuckin agree on something at least. I want this ass tournament to be over, so I can get on with my fuckin life. So I'll make you a deal. You do what you can to help me get back on top of things and I'll make sure this tournament is over quick and make sure people leave you the fuck alone. I don't care what it is. Find me a Regalis that's worth a damn. Give me some loopholes to exploit. Fuck, pact with me for all I care. But that's my deal and that's what'll get me out of your fuckin face."

Broen's lip curled into a scowl. He very briefly considered how good it would feel to punch this guy in the face. But no, he wasn't going to risk that. Getting arrested was not on the agenda.

He thought quickly, trying to use what little he knew about Aslan already.
"Well you're not exactly a ray of fuckin sunshine yourself, Marth. In fact I'd say I'm actually your best bet for a partner. You don't wanna deal with assholes trying to come pact with you all day every day. And quite frankly, after I'm set on some powers to make it so I can challenge peeps on equal ground, I frankly wouldn't want to deal with your ass. So call it a mutual fuckin benefit of exclusion. You get a free pass to tell people, 'no thanks. I'm with someone' and I get a partner I don't have to actually talk to or interact with once we're bonded."

"I don't half-ass anything. I started this thing and I'm going to see it through. Whether I win or lose, I'm not gonna puss out like a bitch."

Broen clenched his fists and fought to keep his own emotions under control. He let out a long, slow breath. "This tournament is a chance for me to take back control of my life after I lost fuckin everything. You might not give a shit, and I might be super fuckin pissed, but it is important to me that I see this through. I gotta prove that I can do this. Not to say any of you fucks, but to myself."

He paused, relaxing just a little bit. "But I also know I can't do it on my own with nothing to even the odds between me and the superhumans who also joined."

Broen stared back just as intensely at Aslan. Chewing on his lip hard enough that it bled. Was this guy fucking with him now? No, he didn't seem the type. He nodded once, very slowly.

"Aight. I can work with that. We do the pact and bond shit and then we don't ever have to fuckin even look at each other again. You get me out of your fuckin hair and I get to keep doing this shit."

Broen pulled the hood of his hoodie up, following beside Aslan without a word. He was going to keep his word and not bother Aslan while they went to do this thing. He was, however, going to smoke on the way there.
