Tuesday hadn't spent a whole lot of time hanging out with Sunday despite them both being part of the same coven. Personally Tuesday felt like maybe she should have tried harder to get the woman to go out more, but this was a good first step maybe. They planned to meet up and work on some rituals for each other. A sort of witches version of holiday gift giving.

Sunday had mentioned that her strongest magic circle was at her apartment so it made sense for them to do it there. That was why she found herself heading up to the apartment she had never before seen, carrying a moderately sized duffel bag full of her own candle making ritual supplies. Sunday hadn't given her the impression that what she would what from her candles would be too crazy.

Slumping the bag to the floor she stepped forward to knock on the door. She was dressed plainly in skinny jeans and an old shirt beneath her large winter coat. Better to be prepared in case she spilled while working. Before the door could open though she took one step back and pulled out a lighter to illuminate her face for Sunday. Probably not necessary, but oh well.

Sunday's apartment was lined with candles - perhaps dangerously so - and void of as many reflective objects as she could manage. In fact, there were actually less lit candles than normal as she knew that she would be receiving Tuesday soon and that the younger woman would need more room to move. Otherwise, in her living room, the furniture was sparse - only her main forge, a much smaller dining table, a set of four chairs, and many, many shelves lining the walls, all filled with various reagents and books. The blinds had been pulled up for once, allowing much more light into the room. All of it, of course, was useless to Sunday.

Hearing the knock on the door, she went to open it. In the hallway, she found Tuesday. The younger woman had helpfully illuminated her face, which was good because it meant that she didn't need to bend awkwardly towards her to get a quick look. "Tuesday. Come in, please." She held the door open, standing back a little.

Tuesday gave Sunday a warm smile, still illuminated by the light from her magic flames, before dispersing the spell. Unfortunately she had only the one hand so carrying her back took priority. "Hey Sunday, kinda looking forward to working in the same room as you some more," she greeted the woman warmly but did not offer to shake her hand. She figured Sunday would appreciate just skipping that in favor of getting inside to focus on their work.

The apartment was larger than hers, though it was pretty hard to tell because of all the many, many ingredients, materials and books the woman had stockpiled. Then there were the candles- far more than even Tuesday kept in her apartment. Of course she knew that Sunday needed them to see in her home so it made sense, but damn.

Tuesday stepped in, carrying her bag in with her and looked around as Sunday closed the door. Turning back towards the woman she smiled again, though she wasn't entirely sure it would be visible. Oh well. "Looks like you're ready to make just about anything in here... Where can I put my stuff that'll be out of your way?" she asked, not entirely sure what areas Sunday needed clear for her work. Aside from the magic circle that made up her forge of course. She recognized the magic of that area instantly.

Sunday gestured to the dining room table, currently kept bare of anything besides a cup of pens. "You may take the table for your work. I am a little short on furniture, however, so if you need more than that, I might have to do some improvisation. That said, any free space you can find is yours as well." She tilted her head towards a closed door. "If you need to store your supplies anywhere, you may use the bedroom for that."

The smith felt no particular need to point out her forge; any witch worth their magic should have been able to sense its power and know to avoid tinkering with it. Having said all she needed, Sunday turned back to her own work.

Tuesday followed the gesture to see the table, plenty of room for her to work with. "That's ok, the table should be perfect for me," She replied as she set her bag down and began carefully unloading her ingredients, moulds and tools. She spread a roll of brown paper across the surface so she could draw her own circle on the table without harming the table itself, or risking spilt wax on it later.

Had this been the apartment of someone other than one of her sister witches she would have probably made a provocative or risqué remark about being offered the use of the bedroom. Even if she had, it was a pretty safe bet Sunday would have shut her down quickly. Something about focusing on the work at hand, which would have triggered another cycle of innuendo until Tuesday was kicked out. So she held her tongue.

"I'm not sure how your forge works exactly but if you could use any extra magic from me let me know. I know we're all stronger working together on a ritual than apart," She offered as she began drawing out her intricate magic circle. Not nearly as in depth as Sunday's forge, but then she was only doing a fairly routine spell on the candles today. "Otherwise, I figured you could use a few candles enchanted to burn twice as long and twice as bright?"

Hardly much of a question given Sunday's need for candles and how pragmatic the offer was.

Sunday

"Candles are always appreciated, especially if they're enchanted to last, thank you," Sunday said, beginning to look over the items at her forge. She knew very little of her brother and sister witches and of Tuesday herself, the smith only knew that whatever curse her family had inherited allowed them to mostly live normally. By all outwards appearances, anyways.Their contact before the ritual which had taken away usage of their true names had been limited; this was probably the most amount of time Sunday and Tuesday had ever spent with real interaction.

"Some help might be appreciated later but it is not entirely necessary," she continued. "Please let me know if you require assistance."

Perhaps something simple would suffice for her sister witch. Everybody had to look out for their own health so Sunday thought maybe she would make something along the lines of a charm for good health and immunity from disease. It did seem like the time of year when that sort of item would be appreciated.

Thoughtfully, Sunday took up a spool of spun sunlight. A necklace seemed to be the obvious choice but that was too cliche. A ring was easily lost, an earring even more so. A bracelet, then, maybe? Already she was beginning to hammer out the thin, metal-like material, intertwining it with strands of silver.

Tuesday nodded as she traced the symbols needed into her circle, concentrating on getting them perfect. Otherwise the spell would fail, and her candles would be ruined. "Sure, I don't mind lending some help later. Once I mix and enchant the candles it'll mostly be just waiting for them to finish hardening anyway," she replied as she mentally tallied up how much of each ingredient she would need to make the four candles. The spell for this was at a pretty basic level, so she didn't have to worry about not being able to help her unless she went overboard with the number.

Tuesday wondered what it would be like to only see by firelight. Granted, her family had always kept tons of candles around but still. It wasn't goo to try comparing though, she knew. In time if she didn't break the many curses on her she'd perish just like the rest of her family. Speaking of which though... "Hey Sunday, do you mind if I put on some music or is that going to bother you? I have some headphones if I have to use 'em," she called over to the woman. Even with them talking there was the creeping sensation of quietness in the room through the pauses.

She finished her magic circle and began to measure out small powders and grind up herbs and flowers into a very old looking bronze bowl with a crack running down the outside of it. Tuesday glanced over at Sunday's work with honest fascination. It wasn't every day you saw something as beautiful as the work Sunday could do at her forge. Not even just in terms of the end product either- the process was more interesting to Tuesday than anything else.

Sunday

The materials took shape under her hands, silver and sunlight with twinkling bits of gems she had found on discount through suspicious websites which had turned out to be just legitimate enough for her purposes. Health, longevity, protection against disease - she wove the glittering strands around them to create a pipe-like piece of jewelry with the gems caged inside.

"Music is fine," Sunday remarked absently, deep in her work. As the craft was still half done, she began to infuse her magic into the item at her fingers, making sure that the components all bonded fast.

Tuesday nodded even though Sunday wasn't really paying attention to her, and then started playing some music from her phone. Nothing too disruptive, just the sort of calm, psychedelic style rock from groups like Tame Impala and Melody's Echo Chamber.

For her part she was crushing up several herbs and roots while her hotplate began to melt the chunks of raw wax. This root for the oils that would help he candle burn smoother. That herb to make the light brighter, once the magic took hold. The precise amount of each ingredient was important or the spell would fail. Her magic wasn't flashy looking, and it was fairly slow and deliberate- in stark contrast with her personality. But candle magic was all about creating the slow and even burn. Like wax gently melting and dripping, the magic couldn't be rushed or things would collapse.

"Tell me to shut up if it bothers you, but would you consider getting out and about more if I offered to take you around to a few places?" She asked while she worked. Hoping Sunday wouldn't be too disturbed.

Sunday

Sunday's hands stilled like stone at Tuesday's question, making sure not to disturb her work. "It does not bother me," she said, because it did not. Having the presence of somebody else around was still somewhere between disruptive and soothing. On one hand, it was a body to fill the empty space. On the other hand, it was a body with desires and impulses of its own.

"I have never seen the point in going out," Sunday said slowly. "It has always been a hassle to go alone and I could hardly leave my apartment at night." The terror was in the back of her mind, in her shadow, always waiting and watching. "If you have any places of interest that could be frequented during the day, however-"
