An Nam Il
Nam Il stared up at the book far above him. With big navy blue letters, it proudly announced itself as the chemistry book that he needed to finish his project with, in the most blatantly taunting manner. Not that he really needed the information in there. All that he wanted from it was the citation information so he could say that he had six legitimate sources. There was just one problem. He was very short. The shelf was very high. There were no stools around and the shelves were too thin to be used as ladders. The books would just fall out through the back and the librarians would get angry at him again.
This was why he did not very much care for school.
Logically, the boy knew that he wasn't supposed to use his powers for something as mundane as retrieving things from high places. But this was actually a bit frustrating and what exactly was the attraction aura going to do in a place where the supernatural was already out in the open? Just make people look at him a few seconds longer? He didn't think anybody particularly non human was within eyesight, anyways.
He grabbed the biggest book within reach, some kind of science text with lots of big and pretty pictures, and it immediately turned into a green Asian style lantern. As he let it fall from his hand, a silvery pole began to extend out until it was drawn at about three feet long. More than enough for his purposes.
Very, very carefully, Nam Il touched the non lantern end of the stick to the top of the chemistry book's spine and gently tugged it back.
