BASIC INFORMATION:
I am a lion and I want to be free
NAME:
He doesn’t remember his real name. He doesn’t even know if he ever had one. A long time ago he thought that he must have had a name by which his parents had called him, but during the years, he had all but forgotten about it. While he lived on the streets, the people there called him Rat, a name all but few children on the streets shared and in the hundred years that he had him, the previous Leo had not once called him anything but Boy. He had also forbid him to choose a name by which he would call himself either. Now, he simply introduces himself as Leo.
AGE:
He does not know this either. Years tend to blend together when you’re simply trying to survive and even before the functionally immortal that came with the Zodiac powers he stole from the previous Leo, his life had been prolonged by the powers he had stolen from his father as a child, making him age slower than it was natural while also giving him stronger health. He had stopped again completely almost fifty years before he became a Leo, his appearance still that of a twenty five year old rather than the old man he should have been. The best estimation he had come up with so far is that he is somewhere around one hundred and twelve years old.
BIRTHDAY:
From the faint memories he had from before he had ended up living on the streets, alone, he always guessed that he had a summer birthday. He never knew for certain, however, and soon stopped caring completely. Once he had assumed and learned more about the powers of the Zodiac however, he guessed that his birthday must have indeed been somewhere between the dates of 7/23 and 8/23 as this is Leo’s time span, and he was able to assume the powers of the Leo when he killed the previous one.
GENDER:
Male. During the years right after he had freed himself from the previous Leo’s grasp he had slept with both men and women but had never felt much of anything with either. He is too broken to have to have a proper emotional relationship and is too disconnected from the world to even enjoy the physical side of sex properly. He can grasp it up to a certain point however, unlike anything that has anything to do with emotion.
CATEGORY:
Citizen, drifter. He lives of the money he had earned through killing and similar jobs. That money is thinning out, however, and won’t last forever, which means that at some point he will have to find a job he can do somewhere on the Island. What he could do but kill however he doesn’t know, and he refuses to go back to that.
APPEARANCE:
Do you see a lion when you look inside of me?
Unlike his predecessor, Leo looks nothing like the sign he is supposed to represent. The man who had picked the boy called Rat from the street had had the body of a mountain, strong and tall, able to snap a man with his hands alone. Leo himself however, had always been thin himself, thinner than a child his height should ever be, and had kept being thin even after he had freed himself from the tortures of the previous Zodiac, and though he can more than well hold his own in a fight, he lacks the raw power the other man had, relying on his speed, powers and intelligence to keep him alive rather than on his strength. His hair is dark and short, though it curls slightly towards the end. His eyes are clear and grey in colour. People usually can’t keep eye contact with him for too long however, as there is always something off about them, mostly that that it sees like there is nothing behind them. No person looking from the other side. They are empty, too cold. Too emotionless. His skin is lightly tanned and covered in scars everywhere but on his face. A scare on the face is too easy to remember, the previous Leo would say, as he tortured the boy, leaving scar up on scare on his skin as he tried to break his spirit while teaching him the art of killing.
PERSONALITY:
How can I sleep at night, there's a war inside my head?
Before he met the previous Leo, the boy living on the streets might not have had a real name or an identity of his own, but unlike many of the others sharing his name, he was not unkind. He helped other children living on the streets when he could giving them food and telling them where they could go to get warm while still thinking and putting himself and his own life first. He was shrewd and fast, able to survive. He was, however, still a child, and thought he did not trust easily he was drawn into the previous Leo's trap. And once the man caught him, he broke him.
The previous Leo raised the street rat to be a weapon and nothing more. He punished each mistake with violence and pain, teaching him how to control his powers through terror and tears. When he was not needed, Leo was locked, unable to leave the dark room barely big enough for him to sit in it, let alone stand or move. Food was rare, and stale, except when given as a reward for a successful kill or a job well done. Despite all of this however, a long ago stolen ability he did not even know he had kept him alive, for as if by luck, all of the powers the previous Leo had him steal were active rather than passive, replacing the ability he had gotten from his mother rather than from his father. This however, meant that it also took longer for his spirit to break, but break it did. He became detached, emotionless. Soulless, merciless, he was a tool rather than a person, though not as much of him was gone as the previous man had thought… The first chance it got, the weapon turned on its maker and went onto a rampage.
Now, because of the way he lived, tortured, forced to kill he is empty despite not wanting to live that life any more. Even when he tries to feel something, he is emotionless. He does not understand people or how to live a normal life. He only knows how to kill. He can't grasp the simple ideas as going out, having friends, buying groceries, biting your tongue so not to insult someone. He is disconnected from the world and when he tries to live a normal life, he mostly mimics what he sees from other people, doing it because he thinks that's how it's supposed to be done, rather than really understanding the world.
He, is however, mostly harmless when he is this way. It is when he is triggered by something that he becomes dangerous, that he becomes the soulless weapon again. This state is not triggered easily however and for the most part the only person that can trigger it is he himself. It would take a rather extreme action for it to be triggered from the outside, by another person.

POWERS:
Tear it all to pieces
What he was born with:
An ability to steal other people's powers by killing them. This ability is a blood line ability he inherited from his father. Upon birth this power is passive. It becomes active between child's fifth and seventh birthday. When it becomes active, it manifests as an ability to drain life energy, allowing the child to kill passively. When the child steals an ability, the life drain disappears. If no ability is stolen by the time the child turns seven, the child becomes powerless. This powers allows its user to steal one active and one passive power and possess them at the same time. Each time the user kills the old ability gets replaced by the new one, and the old one is erased. In order to get the same ability again, the user has to kill somebody with that ability again. Each time an ability is acquired, the user has to learn how to control it, as the knowledge of how to do so does not transfer when he kills. Not every kill must end in transfer of powers. He is able to kill a person with powers without stealing their powers if he wants to. This, however, had to be learned.
Zodiac abilities (all Zodiac): Functionally immortal
Immortal if left alone. Small wounds heal immediately, larger ones heal slower. He cannot get sick and can live a technically forever unless something extreme happens like beheading, blown up, burning so extreme it cannot be healed, etc.
Explosions (specific to Leo):
Leo is able to set things on fire and make them explode from distance. He cannot do this to any object. He needs to have touched the object he needs to set on fire/make explode before hand, as if he were setting a detonator on it in a way. The detonators have no time limit, once the object is touched it cannot be detonated at any time. How big the explosion will be depends on how much power he infuses when he touched the object. It also depends on the size of the object. He can make a whole person go out in flames or just a hand if he wants to torture somebody. Same goes for cares and other transportation up to the size of the truck. Anything above that size cannot be exploded at once. Walls, for example, also vary. Thin walls will explode completely at one go. Thicker walls may not explode completely, but just made a whole in. Of course, not every touch must carry a detonator. He is able to touch things without infusing them with detonators. This however, must be learned.
Assassin skill set:
As it says, this is not a separate power but rather a skill set of speed, strength, fighting tricks, knowledge about poisons etc that he had been 'taught' by the previous Leo.
Leo still has his inborn powers and would be able to steal another power if he wanted to. However currently both his active and his passive 'slots' are taken by his Zodiac powers which means that if he killed and gained another power he would lose these ones.
Biography:
Cause I am a lion and you are dead
• Born somewhere in France some one hundred and twelve years ago to parents neither poor nor rich who both had bowers but did not know it.
• The life stealing blood line was carried by his father's family, who once used to be rich and noble. The ability was a family secret, used as their most powerful card in all of the political games they played, for who, after all, would believe that a child as young as five or seven could be the murderer?
• However, at some point instead of multiple heirs, only two were born. One was killed, the other did not acquire a power by the age of seven, becoming powerless. The family fell apart and from power during his and his child's life time. Several generations later, Leo's father was born, with the same power but unaware of almost 90% of his family history. As a young child, he used to be very sick and because of this met a man working as a doctor of a kind who possessed a passive power of prolonged life and strengthened health. As hid visits to this man continued, Leo’s father grew stronger, and the poor doctor grew weaker, until, upon his death, Leo’s father acquired his ability rather than becoming without ability himself like the children of the several previous generations. He had married a girl at 17 who had an active power: she could charm people with her song. They lived a happy life together, and soon had a child.
• Leo's own life drain abilities activates when he was around six or seven. They had killed both of his parents slowly, their abilities transferring to him.
• Due to the prolonged life and enhanced health he had gotten from his father, he survived on the streets alone for almost seven years becoming more and more capable of it with each year he survived. At one point he even discovered the power he got from his mother, using it to his advantage when steeling or having to run away, making it so that he had never been caught in all those years.
• He was, however, still a child, and no matter how careful he was, he still fell into previous Leo's trap. The previous Leo saw him charming a woman into giving him food at the market one day, and thought that an ability like that would be more than useful to him on his current job. He lured the boy into helping him by promises of food and money all the while planning to kill him once the job was done.
• He did not plan for everything however, and the young street rat ended up killing someone while the job was still going. Once it was all done and the previous Leo tried to kill him, the boy tried using his song on him only to discover it no longer worked. This stopped the previous Zodiac for a moment, which was enough for the boy to lash out at him in anger and fear and use the new ability he had gotten from the guard he had killed: he froze the man's arm. It took the man some time to figure out what was going on, but once he did, he immediately gave up on killing him, deciding to 'raise' him instead and use him as a weapon.
• For the next hundred years he tortured the boy, both mentally and physically, both to break his spirit and teach him a various set of skills. He forced him to kill each time he needed a new power for a specific job, rewarding him for each kill and punishing him for each mistake, until he no longer needed to neither force him nor punish him. Thinking he had finally broken the boy's rebellious spirit, he made a mistake and allowed him to kill a person with a power similar to his own. The moment he had the control over this power, however, the boy turned on him taking his power, title and name. Finally, after almost a century, he was free.
• He was also broken. He went on a rampage after getting rid of his predecessor, losing himself in all the things he could not have before: food, wine, sex, drugs, gambling. Anything and everything he could touch and think of. He did jobs, as that was the routine he was used to. The anger after each time he had to do this only started the cycle of losing himself again, until at one point, he grew tired of it all. He did not want to do it. He did not want to do anything.

I'm sorry daughter but your father's not the same
I can look into your eyes and I'll swear that I will change, but...
I can look into your eyes and I'll swear that I will change, but...
• At this point, he was tracked down but one of the women with whom he had slept with. She had become pregnant after sleeping with him, and she had kept the child. It was a girl, and was then two years old. She came from a life similar to his, but had gotten out early, even before she knew she was with a child. At her invitation, she came to see the child, the girl, his daughter, and had ended up staying with them for six months, living mimicry of a normal life. He couldn't do it though. He was broken. He did not understand people, and it was obvious in everything he did. He was destroying the woman's life, slowly, but surely. Then, on top of it all, some old debts came to find him, and almost killed them both. He saved them, and left before she could kick him out.
• He drifted for a few years, doing nothing, just travelling, spending money he had earned in his previous life. Somehow, after almost three years he ended up back in the same town from which he had started, only to find out that his daughter's powers had kicked in and that she had killed her mother, stealing her powers. He was not sad about this, but only because he did not understand how to be sad. Or happy. Or anything. He knew it was his fault though, and his responsibility. He knew about the Academy, and Island. He made sure his daughter was sent there, that she was safe as a ward of the school. He even hoped she would find a new family. He himself continued wandering, trying to figure life out, until recently travelling to Manta Carlos for the lack of anything else to do. He's living on the Island now, keeping an eye on his daughter. She does not know him and wouldn't recognize him if she saw him. He doesn't let her see him though, but he keeps an eye on her. Makes sure she is safe. Sends the school money for her occasionally.
• He doesn't know what he wants to do with the rest of his practically immortal life, but he knows he doesn't want to be what he has been before again. Other people on the island, however, might have different ideas...
...I am just a lion and a lion I will stay.
Additional Information:
Sometimes I worry about myself. I was also very tired when writing the latter half of this app. Somewhere around powers it may start showing signs of that.
