<br> - Born and raised on the island, with both parents being graduates of Starlight Academy who had travelled and seen the world both before and after they have met, which only made them decide that for people like them, there was no safer place than the Island; the decision to settle there was met with disapproval of both of their families, which, atop of the fact that they have decided to merry each other in the first place (mixing bloodlines is frowned upon because of the cases like Samael, where a child inherits both shapes, but one is almost painful for them to bear) has resulted in radio silence, so despite having a lot of cousins, Samael and his brother hand never met any of them
<br> - After they had returned from their travels, his parents had bought a small bar in the city, Of Angels and Demons, and still live in the apartment above it; Samael planes to inherit the bar from his father, has so far no plans of leaving the island, and is actually attending college only because he knows his father would never allow him to drop out in order to work at the bar full time
<br> - As a child, Samael has been very curious and independent; at first, though, they had thought that there might be something wrong with his powers, since after seeing his mother shift a few times, he had learned quite quickly how to do so himself, which had caused him serious pain, that being his minor power; after a few months of worrying, however, his parents have discovered what was really happening to their child
