Personality Description:
DJ is dedicated and motherly. She likes to make others feel safe and take care of the people she cares about. She is also very curious and inquisitive, especially scientifically.

Nothing means more to her than her music and her son, Tevyntr. She doesn't like having to choose between the two, but if she must she will choose to care for Tevyntr before going out to a gig. It's not uncommon for DJ to cancel shows because she was unable to find an acceptable babysitter. This has hurt her reputation, but she cares more about her son than her reputation.

DJ is easily spoiled by praise, and one must be careful to temper compliments with criticisms, lest she start to think too highly of herself.

She is not particularly flirty, and has been known to play hard to get. Except she'd not really playing--she believes that her son is the only guy she really needs in her life at the moment. Getting close to her pretty much requires passing the Tevyntr Approval Test.

DJ has control over most forms of electrical device, easily able to cause them to malfunction, break, or use their wiring and currents as a means of defense or attack. This ability also gives her an incredible aptitude with creating something that uses electricity or wiring, with her mixdeck being something she built and customized for herself.

This power is weaker than her technomancy, but she can give her music a certain sound, like she can make a song sound amorous or dangerous. DJ can implant suggestions into her songs to convey ideas or messages to a large crowd. These are no more than suggestions though, and do not convey any overarching or complicated ideas.

Biography:

• DJ was born in Brazil in a fairly middle class family with two sisters.
• Got involved in organized crime, when she was arrested.
• She realized her technomantic abilities while in prison, when she shorted out a room full of TVs because she didn't like their news.
• DJ came to Manta Carlos as a high school student where she was fairly studious and learned a lot about her powers.
• Got involved with a boy in her class around her 11th grade year of high school.
• Their relationship became sexual, and DJ became pregnant.
• DJ graduated high school and had her son shortly after, who she calls Tevyntr.
• Since her son was born, she's moved into an off-campus apartment and has had very little time for school. Because of this she rarely attends class.
