In Honor of Anniversaries

Those normal, lazy days have a habit of creeping over even the most unusual of places and Manta Carlos Island is no exception. Eventually, no matter how many odd things happen, life simply settles into a usual sort of pattern. It becomes calming in its own way. But then magic becomes a factor again.

The growing population of Manta Carlos consists mainly of people with some sort of power, some sort of advanced technology that can break most known laws of science. It's only natural, then that it all starts to seep into people's lives in other ways.

When people go to sleep, they dream. Sometimes they remember, sometimes they don't. But gradually, the dreams start to cross over into one another, sometimes ignoring even spans of time...

As most of you know, SA will have its tenth anniversary this summer and many of us would like to see the site reach a hundred thousand posts by then.

In order to help achieve this goal, I have decided that I am going to challenge the longest RP thread on the site. It is called "Sightless Wandering" and currently clocks in at 1,185 replies between only two members, written over the span of just two months. We can totally outpost that.

Unlike other events, this will be a single thread that consists of a long drawn out, collective dream. Characters may come in and out as they please, at any time IC or ICC. You may write your character from backwards in the timeline- meaning that you use an earlier version of your character and drop them in. (It's a dream, after all.) Inactive characters can be easily skipped over and explained as having woken up. Speed posting is recommended (maybe around a hundred words is all). Although I hear from our Motherlord Kyros that even shorter is acceptable. There is no post order.

As for how characters react to the dream, you can choose to have them ignore it completely if you'd like. Or have them forget about it afterwards. It's your choice. As for other characters in the dream, you may ignore or interact with as many as you'd like. If you want to join in but have no idea how to, literally just drop your character in at random. Dreams aren't supposed to make sense, after all.
