- Coral stands at a height of 5'6ft with a slim build, and wings spanning up to 5'9ft each, having grown with her own body growth. Without feathers on her body, Coral is skinny and abnormally light. Normally, this would be unhealthy but it was part of the mutation from her modification and helps for her to be more aerodynamic.
Coral always tends to look a little unkempt. She keeps her dark auburn hair with a headband but her fringe sticks out in every direction. Her hair strands are rough and thicker than normal hair. Her green eyes are a little dulled down by working tirelessly, framed by her long feathery eyelashes. There are freckles that are scattered around her cheeks but they're almost invisible behind her glasses.
Coral's most notable feature are the wings on her back. Her feathers grow soft beige to coffee browns with little streaks of black here and there. Down feathers sprout behind her ears and around her neck. She has a growth of feathers around her collarbone and from around her from her elbows down to her wrists which peak out even when she wears long sleeves. Her hands have grown to resemble bird talons with its hard skin and rounded nails but the joints still remain human. Underneath all the clothes and feathers are stressed out blood vessels, scars from experimentation, and remnants of bad allergic reactions from chemicals.
Coral doesn't quite have a sense of style. She usually wears long-sleeved clothing but with wide neck openings so she could breathe. She avoids zip-ups because her feathers keep getting caught. Coral dresses pretty lightly on most days though because the down feathers irritate her skin when it gets too stuffy.

- Quick-witted, systematically curious, observant, and dedicated are a few words to describe Coral. Two years out of the biodome had also made Coral opportunistic and a little irritable. She's also become a little more assertive than before but she's still not used to huge crowds.
Since Coral was bullied when she was younger, she is often anxious around strangers and wary of anyone who is bigger than her. She would be even quieter than usual until she gets the opportunity to make an escape. She's the type of person who keeps her thoughts to herself unless she's already familiar with a person. She usually takes a bit to respond because of her internal monologues. Oftentimes, she'd be thinking while conversing so there are times the conversation gets constantly derailed into something else entirely.
Around her friends, Coral is just completely relaxed. And by completely relaxed, she actually lets her thoughts speak. She'd say anything without much thought even if it's nonsense. She spends too much time over-thinking but she allows herself time to just let loose. Coral's train of thought is cluttered but only because thinks of a lot of things at the same time. She spaces out very often and sometimes misses a conversation. She's also prone to mood swings which sometimes makes her hard to handle.
Coral has an unconventional world view, and often questions the norms and conventions of the contemporary society. Despite that, she remains passive towards it or dismissed them completely. She acts on her own based on her own judgement and opinion.
Being in the biodome, bullied and with no one to turn to for help, Coral was already responsible in her own way. After being thrown into the surface world to fend for themselves, Coral turned herself into someone who could support others and developed a motherly instinct. As a person, Coral wouldn't be able to strike as anyone interesting (unless people would mistake her for anything else but a human experiment gone wrong) but as a friend, she is reliable and dedicated. She pours in everything she can even to the point she would spend nights thinking what to get for a birthday gift. Loosing people is a concept not alien to her, which makes her the kind of person who believed that there is no time like the present.
Coral is bit of a pack-rat and usually keeps good finds to herself. Since she grew up bullied and often the one stolen from, she also loves gifts, in whatever form they are in. But for whatever purpose, quality time was the best gift she would ask for. Coral enjoys everything she gets in Starlight from the comfortable bed to good food she doesn't have to break her back for. But what interests her is the resources she has access to from computers to the entire library. Coral would be up for anything in school as long as it doesn't involve physical training.

- FEATHER-MOD: BETA --The factory used Coral as a guinea pig to test one of their body modification experiments, FEATHER-MOD: BETA.
Coral doesn't actually have enough muscle strength in her wings to get her off the ground without exerting herself. Even with two years of having the modification, she is still not able to withstand rigorous flight for extended periods. Coral suffers constant back pains from the wings on her back so other than her designated medication, she also takes pain-killers. Her body developed an immunity that she usually takes them in high dosage.

- At the bottom of a deep trench, sitting among deep sea creatures and giant abominations, sits an underwater biodome with three massive buildings inside it. The first building is the nursery. This is where “subjects†are mass produced by the dozen every month and raised into late childhood. The next building is the observational building. This where subjects are installed their mods, observed 24/7 and practice their powers.
This is where #59467896871 was mass produced. #59467896871 was a clone among many. #59467896871 was the one that kept away from the crowd and played by herself. She was the kid who was always spacing out, thought a little too hard about things and asked too much questions.
#59467896871 was sorted to be installed with the FEATHER-MOD: BETA. For her, it was the worst type she could ever get. She had to go through months of agonizing pain from the mutations it came with. Her body didn't react positively but it was not enough for her to be removed in the program. Her wings took longer to grow into its ideal size in comparison to the others which greatly affected her performance during training.
#59467896871 , then called "Specs" (for her old fashioned glasses), excelled in her academics, but Training was a different department altogether. Even at the point when her wings had grown to befit for her body's size, her progress was still painfully slow because of her poor coordination. Her average rating wasn't looking up because the system placed a high priority on the results of the modification more than anything. To avoid any further problems, Specs had to pull out all the stops and worked harder than anyone by taking extra credits and working as an assistant to the offices.
But her problems didn't stop there. She was naturally smart but her being unassertive made her a target for bullies. Specs would be cornered by bullies to do their school work or sometimes just to pick on her. She got shoved into lockers on a daily basis and there were times she never got to eat what was already a petty meal for a low-level MOD like her. Because of that, she enjoyed her alone time when no one could hurt her. Specs couldn't fight back at all; not against the bullies, nor the entire system. She hated the system but she had to put up with it because she didn't know any other life outside the biodome. Specs was constantly plagued by depression to a point she had she grew dependent on the medications.
In the midst of all that High School drama of bullies and "academic" struggles, she met a BRUTE MOD named Ace who was probably the first person who was actually decent towards her. She would later be introduced to his friends, and ILLUSI-MOD they called Chloe, and a BINARY MOD named Digit.
Life seemed a little easier. She changed her name to "Coral" after Ace commented how she almost acted like one when she recoils. (He might have been referring to another sea creature though.) After the next batch rolled in, Coral met Torch (later rebranded as "Joker"), a TORCH MOD, whom she came to adore unconditionally. It was unrequited, unfortunately.
As her life was a constant change, things soon spiraled down into chaos. While all things fell apart around her, she found a glimmer of hope for her life that was only filled with disappointment and discontent. She joined Ace, Digit, Joker, and Lady in the break out. They lost Lady immediately which mentally scarred Joker and Coral was grief-stricken because she couldn't do anything to help him.
For the few months they spent on the surface, Coral was the one who had the hardest time to find a job to help out. Even so, she tried her best efforts to be useful. Coral found time to learn how to make trinkets and accessories by hand and sell them for money. She was even willing to take even the most oddest jobs as long as it could help.
Coral was just about used to that life when they received letters for Starlight Academy. While Coral wasn't looking forward to be in a school again, she was worried about Joker that decided to follow him there and look after him even if he doesn't want to.
