@paradox (Man I forgot about this one I'm sorry dude >_<)

"Thanks for the compliment. Always nice to hear someone say that about my music!"

Miya brought the piece to an end and started laughing to herself. Even an audience of one was all she needed and man was it fun when that person enjoyed what she was playing. Made everything so much better and like her hard work and effort really meant something.

Seeing Alec dancing to her piece was a nice thing as well. She didn't just stick to a single style of music and preferred to change to different ones from time to time. Though getting a good piano peace that isn't sad sounding is difficult without other instruments.

"Of course that's a yes! I've always wanted to do one but, well, I tend to scare people off mostly because of all the enthusiasm I put out towards music. I can't help it! Music is the most passionate thing to me. With cooking and sewing after it. I just want to take my music around the world and let others hear it. Not all the stupid rap and crap that comes on the radio these days."

Miya took a seat and began to think. What type of piece should they compose? Well she hadn't actually heard Alec's voice so she didn't know what a good idea to start with. Actually didn't know what the guy liked doing to begin with or his styles. Well might as well find out.

"So what type of things do you enjoy singing most? Slow, fast, upbeat, sad? Need somewhere to start and I can adapt to many styles and genres. Just need to know where to start is all."

(Haha! It's fine, it's fine =u=)

Alec stopped his swaying as the music stopped. He understood the passion and enthusiasm Miya had, he understood that others would probably think that it's too much to deal with, but he didn't mind. Music is music. He has the same love for it, even though it seemed that his preference was different from Miya's.

"Nothing's wrong with enthusiasm, you just gotta find people who are just as enthusiastic and passionate as you," he said with a shrug. "Honestly, I don't think I can be as energetic as you, but I know I love music just as much."

"You mean you love your voice just as much, right?" Paradox was still there, listening to everything, and reminding him something he couldn't deny. But that didn't mean he loved other music any less.

"I like slow music, honestly. If it's something I'll perform, I don't think I can do upbeat songs. I mean... I can but I can't imagine myself looking and singing like an Idol. It doesn't really suit me, does it?"

"You caught me on a good day. Only reason I'm in such a mood right now."

Miya did tend to be on the other end of the spectrum most days. She was in a good mood and was enjoying it. Alec just happened to make the mood better. Always gotta look at the positive side of things when you can. Something Miya took to heart most days.

The bit about an idol made Miya chuckle a bit. Well not all upbeat songs would do that. But she did have to admit with the way Alec was presenting himself he'd do better performing slow songs or least those not super upbeat.

"Long as it sounds good up here I don't mind what I play. In the end though even if I love the piece, if people do not then...Well it wasn't a waste of time but it means something needs to be changed. Sides you never know if it suits you till you try it ya know? Not pushing for it just saying is all."

Don't knock it till you try it. Something Miya tried to tell everyone but it always came off in the wrong way. And mostly was about her cooking and the many, many things she cooked and ate.

Alec then laughed gently, the image of him singing upbeat songs still etched in his mind. And then he nodded, in agreement to what Miya just said.

"I suppose you're right. I can try an upbeat song, and to be honest I don't think I'll sound so bad," he replied.

He looked around the room for a paper he could write on. He always had a pen in one of his uniform's pockets, so he'd never need to ask for one when he needs it. Miya's music sheets were a no, so he headed to the drawer in the corner and rummaged through it. Thankfully, he found a couple of papers with one side still blank.

After finding them, he grabbed his pen from his chest pocket and showed the objects to Miya. "Hey, let's write our ideas here! I'd rather write on a scrap paper first to start things off, and then we can rewrite them later. I'm up for any idea." He grinned and set the papers down on the small table near him. His hands were slightly fidgety, as blood suddenly rushed faster through his veins. Excitement. "Guess I'm cool trying an upbeat song, too. Maybe we can do one upbeat and one slow? That would be awesome, don't you think?"

"Never know till you try and get feedback on it from someone outside of your head. A saying I was once told is 'You are your own worst enemy.' Basically people judge themselves harder then anyone else does. I know that one all too well."

Miya watched as Alec began searching through the room for something. Seeing a pen in his hands she quickly gets the idea. Or rather her idea was "Oh my god we're composing right now *girly squeel*" Hearing it was just to brainstorm it quieted down but still was there in the back of her mind.

"One of each huh? Alright that sounds wicked! Thing is composing the music to sound good is one thing, but the difficult part is coming up with lyrics that fit. It can't just be you making lyrics to go with a song I compose or you making lyrics and I try to make it fit. Both of us have to work together and figure out what type of song do we want it to be. Dramatic, love, forceful, sad. You know that kind of thing. Like....Ever play video games? Where certain characters have theme songs that fit them? Something like that. It has to fit together, can't just be made apart."

"Ohhh... I see." Alec's face was stained with a grin as he nodded and wrote some stuff down. 'Theme songs for me and Miya,' he wrote on top of the paper, his hand writing slightly messy but in an artsy elegant way.

He was standing as he wrote, his head bowed down to the table where the paper was. "Soo... Theme songs... I suppose the upbeat one could be yours and the slow one would be mine," he muttered. He looked up at Miya, smiling. "Do you want to start with yours? Would you be more comfortable like that? I don't mind if we start with mine a bit later."

And so he went on to write 'Miya' two spaces below the first words he wrote, and then drew two lines under it. "Let's list some stuff about you," he said. He already started though, writing '1)' and then 'passionate' beside it.

Miya watched as Alec took what she said to heart. He even named it theme songs as well. She couldn't tell if he was being serious or mocking, but she figured it was the former. Miya grabbed a couple of chairs and brought them over to where Alec was, setting one behind him and taking a seat in the other. She had to think for a moment. Well, she was upbeat right now but that wasn't exactly how she was. It was just one part of her. Generally she knew she was a loner but right now it was for fun.

"Passionate is a good one. Fire is also another thing I'm rather well associated with since that is the powers I possess. Just going to point out now deciding which to do first isn't exactly as easy as it sounds. My composing style is....Strange. It starts with an idea, a general theme. Let's take Fire for example. Fire is wild, dangerous, uncontrollable under most situations. But it has its own beauty to it. So the piece would start out showcasing that wild and dangerous side transitioning into a more beautiful side, with it ending with a mix of both parts."

Well that was a little rant, but it was how she did her compositions. Miya was trying to figure out the best way to explain what she meant by not being able to just choose one to start with. looking at the paper she got up and walked over to her bag and rummaged through it till she found her pen. Despite how she looked, her attire, and how she acted the pen looked very out of place. It was a bright pink with a rabbit design. The eraser was completely worn out with a dollar store bought eraser tip in its place. The pen showed bite marks on both ends, clearly showing she has used this pen for a long, long time. Or quite a lot.

"If we push ourselves to make one then it won't be special. My music thus far has all come from heat of the moment, each section taking me weeks just to finish a single line. A slow, somber piece needs the right mood to write it better. Like you ever just sit down for a comedy in a bad mood and find you don't enjoy the movie? Or you're really hyped up for that new slasher flick, cringing and getting excited at each death that passes by? It's the same with music. You need the right feeling for it. I need to stop ranting before I start charging. Now let's see this list...."

Miya slid the piece of paper and started writing down things under her passionate. Fire, strong willed, beautiful, mysterious were just a few things she's heard about herself in a positive light. In a negative light she's been called dangerous, a threat, uncontrollable. She left out threat and uncontrollable and instead of putting dangerous wrote down wild and crazy. The gears in her mind began turning as she slid the paper back over to Alec.

"That's what I got for the moment. Now, what about you handsome?"

Alec only paused his writing to watch when Miya started her own. As she did, he already began thinking of good lines that will suit her.

"Heed the sparks that spread from my fingers,
I create beauty with the piano's wire;
Burning away shadows and bringing light,
My passion burns through just like fire."

He chuckled as the lyrics formed in his head. He quickly wrote them as Miya spoke, and finished just in time to answer for his turn for sharing. "Can you check these? I'm sure they need some polishing. Not really that good trying to come up with lyrics for others. Not much just yet, but that's a start," he said, handing her the paper before taking his turn.

"Well..." He smiled. The 'handsome' comment was a bit flattering, but he didn't focus on it too much. "I'm usually awake at night, so I guess I'm a man of the moonlight. Usually easygoing, chill..." he began writing on another paper, "Though sometimes I can be a little rash and obnoxious and naive. We'd rather a slow rhythm though."

"H-Hey, you're not talking about me, are you?? And you be careful, you just said 'we'!" Paradox spoke in his mind. He was obviously guilty of the things Alec said just now, though concerned about his slip of the tongue.

"What do you think?" Alec asked, obviously it was directed at Miya and he ignored Paradox completely.

Miya looked at the lyrics and just let out a small gleeful noise. They were pretty much dead on! She just looked at him and let out another gleeful noise. This was going to be awesome! A real collaboration with someone who could write lyrics! Miya almost started rocking back and forward in her chair. If this was an anime, stars would be filling her eyes right now.

"Those are pretty awesome! Pretty damn close if not spot on to how I can be combining both my piano playing and my fireplay. Good on both counts."

Miya tuned in as Alec talked about his habits. A night owl huh? Well writing something for the night would be fun. Nothing like dancing wild fire, but a slow somber piece with the moonlight as the spotlight. She could picture everything in her mind already. A set stage, the moon lighting up a single spot with Alec standing there and the outline of Miya and the piano right behind him.

And there she went getting too far ahead of herself.

"Oh I agree, a slow rhythm would fit better. The night's beauty feels better with a slow rhythm. Embarrassed to admit it but I sometimes take a night stroll in my PJ's around my dorm just to dance in the moonlight. Then get all crazy just when the sun comes up and...Well hopefully not set things on fire. A blazing sun combined with a blazing girl makes for one hell of a sunrise."

"Thanks." It was nice to hear compliments about his lyrics, but both Alec and Paradox thought the rhythm of the words were still pretty awkward, and it would need some polishing, and that was just for the chorus of the song so they'd need to work on a few more stanzas.

He stifled an amused laugh when he noticed that Miya was starting to drift away into deep thoughts, deep imaginations, as he told her his stuff. Paradox, on the other hand, was confident that Miya wasn't going to hear him so he wasn't holding back his laugh.

"I like her, Alec."

Me too, she's fun.

"That's a pretty beautiful sunrise, I gotta say," Alec said as he imagined how Miya would dance to the sunrise. He could see her walking around, surrounded by sun rays as small sparks from her own fire surrounded her, creating a majestic, picture-perfect scene. Never mind the pajamas, it seemed to fit well anyway. Fortunately, the early morning sun wasn't as harmful to his eyes as the the sun for the rest of the day, and he still gets to enjoy its light. "Sunrise and sunset are beautiful. Sadly my eyes are too sensitive to brighter light, and I can't really go outside during this time of the day. It would hurt. Uh... Now what?"
