This room was nice. No full-wall mirrors, no unnecessary space, no Dominik, no war right outside the window. For once, Augustus was actually content with his room, or at least the room assigned to him, even though there was no assurance that he was going to enjoy this alone. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad, he thought. He'd just have to learn how to control his temper around his future roommate, if ever there was going to be one.

After a few silent minutes, he decided to try resting on his bed on the left side of the room. It was on the corner against two walls, a closet to its foot and a nightstand beside the head area. His nightstand had a few papers there, his phone, an alarm clock, a night lamp. And the three drawers were already filled with his things. Beside the nightstand was the window, draped with a thin and translucent blue curtain that ended three inches above the wooden floor. To the right of the room was the mirror of Augustus' side. But it wasn't occupied yet, so that side was a lot more plain. Augustus never touched that part of the room. It wasn't dusty anyway, and he wasn't one who knew how to do cleaning anyway.

Taking a good look around the whole room, Augustus retreated to the soft surface of his bed and laid down comfortably. But that was quickly disrupted by a sound from the hallway outside, as Augustus had more-than-usually sensitive hearing. Getting up, he stared at the door, suspicious of the noise outside. But he wasn't going to open his door to check.

Some days ago, Dreizel was assigned to an empty dorm room. This morning however, he had gotten a note to move to a different room. One, the note said, where a roommate would be waiting. A roommate Dreizel had been looking for and had requested to room with.

He took his bag and made his way as he closed the door to his old room. Dreizel hadn't had much to bring to the Academy. All he really owned were a pair of slippers for the rainy season, three other shirts (all of which are second-hand and worn-out) and two pairs of pants. There was a brand new toothbrush and accompanying tube of toothpaste in his bag among those old things as well as some packed junk food Dreizel had gotten for the journey.

They were the cheapest food he could get and the only goods he could afford from the pier before the trip. They were still unopened and untouched in his bag however, as he had mostly been kept asleep by the rocking. Even until now, he hadn't felt the need to open them. After all, the food served in the Cafeteria and the dorms were much more appetizing than artificial products.

When he arrived on the island, Dreizel was immediately greeted by none other than... normality. It was confusing at first, since he thought this would be a special place for special people. He was half-expecting other fallen angels to be dwelling here as well. So far he hasn't met any.

Yesterday, Dreizel met a kind shapeshifter in the woods called Samael. Samael and he had a long talk as they made their way back and got acquainted pretty quickly. Samael had also told Dreizel before that he could ask the Administration building about the old friends he had been looking for. The good news was that one of the said old friends was indeed enrolled in the Academy.

The ex-angel had been filled with felicity when he found out. He had immediately requested for a transfer. So now, here he was, giddy as he approached the dorm room with the right number. Upon reaching the correct door, Dreizel took a breath. And then he raised his fist to knock on the door lightly.

The knock was a different kind of noise, and Augustus had to force himself to treat it differently. He was being addressed, being called out. Who knows who it might be. As much as he didn't want to, he had to get up and with a lousy and careless turning of the knob, opened the door.

"What is i..?" His voice trailed off to silence. There, in the hallway, right in front of him, was a familiar face that he honestly didn't want to see. Why in hell was he even here?? Augustus could only think that Driezel somehow followed him or the hybrid to this planet. Which to him wasn't good.

"What are you doing here?" His voice sounded like its usual cold and hostile tone, just like during their encounters before. He never really liked the angel, especially after he had compared him to the other Clarets some time ago. Driezel would've been an interesting being if not for that. Augustus wouldn't have changed his mind about Dreizel being different.

Dreizel's smile widened. His glee was visible as he jumped in place once. Had he still possessed wings and had he been in a more open space, he would have swooped in the air in circles. "I found you!" he exclaimed with mirth. "Gus, you have no idea how lonely I've been without a familiar face around. This is so great!"

"What are you doing here?"

The cold tone didn't faze Dreizel. He simply shrugged. "Well, it's a long story, really," he drawled, pausing for effect before eagerly continuing anyway with too many hand and body gestures. "After you and Cean disappeared, they took my wings and they kicked me out. It kinda hurt--You know, I didn't think being kicked out of a world would hurt. Well, I actually don't remember how it happened since I sort of passed out.

"Anyway, so I wake up in this huge, huuuuuuuuuuuuuge city! You should'a seen it! It was like the Continents put together! Though, I guess I just thought that because I couldn't see from a bird's eye view. So I wake up in this huge city called New York and people there were mean, man. Like, really mean. Anyway, I spent some time there, I got used to how things were in earth, I believe that's what they call this place, and then I saw this invitation to this place and so I came here! And now I've found you! Great, isn't it?" He gave a gleeful laugh at the last bit before looking at Augustus, his hands finally resting on the straps of his bag.

Augustus made no attempt to stop the machine gun that was the angel's mouth, but it was all over his face that nothing he's heard pleased him. Pretty surely, Dreizel already knew-- Augustus found nothing pleasing about him anymore.

But there was a split-second when a wince escaped to the surface. He disliked the angel, and he hated feeling guilt and sadness at hearing Dreizel's wings ripped. It was as unnatural as having a peaceful day in their planet. "Must've been painful. You angels are really unforgiving." His voice didn't betray him though. Still as cold as they ever were, showing no signs of care.

True enough, he didn't care about Dreizel's misadventures.

"Great, so you've found me," it was so monotonous that one wouldn't have to struggle figuring out sarcasm anymore. "What about it? You're not my roommate by any chance, are you?"

Dreizel's enthusiasm did not waiver despite Augustus' unwelcoming greeting. His smile changed into a grin however when Augustus asked, "You're not my roommate by any chance, are you?"

The fallen angel laughed a bit and paused, thinking if he should nod or shake his head to give the answer that yes, he indeed was Augustus' roommate. Tag questions have always given him a hard time for some reason. "Well, it turns out that I am," he said instead, shrugging his shoulders casually. "I figured you might want a roommie since they said at the office that you didn't have one yet."

Dreizel keyed down for a moment, his eyebrows furrowing. "Also, I was thrown out of home because I didn't do my job." Then the blond grinned and puffed his chest out. He lifted a finger, as if he was about to prove an important point. "Well, now I'm here and I'm going to make sure I do my job well." Which he hoped meant they could take off a few years from his punishment or at least give back his wings.

"So can I come in now?"

"Well. You figured wrong."

Augustus clicked his tongue in dismay, and he made sure Dreizel was going to hear it. It was for the mixture of all sorts of negative feelings he felt. He hated how the angel... or the fallen angel... was still so energetic even as he spoke of his misfortune. A misfortune caused by Augustus and Cean. He was so irritated that he actually felt... helpless.

Augustus didn't bother shooing him away; to his defense, he was just really feeling bad for the poor guy, really. He turned his back to him as he gestured to the room, and the untouched side of it, and awkwardly rubbed his nape.

"Come in then," he sounded like he didn't have much choice, exasperation adding into all the negatives that made up the coldness of his voice. "That side is yours," he pointed, "and I only have three rules. One, don't mess up. If you do, you're going to clean everything and never expect me to do it. Two, this room is ours, and ours only. No outsiders. Even my brother isn't allowed in here. And three--" He turned and stared right into Dreizel's eyes again. His eyes were yet again sharp, sharp as knife, as a driller; if they were literal blades Dreizel's head would've already been pierced through and through. "--don't piss me off more than how you already do. Tell me if you have a problem with that and we can settle it."

There was a tone in his voice on those last words that said he meant differently.

Dreizel could feel it--all of Augustus' negativity. His bitterness, anger, irritation and even that bit of helplessness. Since he fell into this world, his sensitivity to others' feelings seems to have been tuned to its maximum. He had learned to control his outward appearance though to make it seem like he wasn't affected by anything at all.

"Thanks," Dreizel said with a grin as he followed Augustus in. He looked around the room. Quaint, simple, and comfortable enough. The aura in here was the opposite though, mostly because of Augustus' fuming. Probably.

He turned to the other to listen to the rules and nodded after each. Dreizel flashed a smile despite the sharp glare and simply said, "Nah, no problem." He then went to place his bag by the bed post. He slowly sunk onto the bed and sighed at the softness of it. He let the rest of his body fall onto the white sheets.

So far, Starlight Academy has the best beds here on earth. The sidewalk hadn't been comfortable; the homeless shelter only had cots and mats; and the boat had a decent enough bed, just that it rocked a lot that Dreizel had a hard time sleeping. The fallen angel kicked off his shoes and pulled his legs up so he was lying onto it on his side. "Now this is what I'm talking about. A nice, warm bed..." he mumbled happily. "Hey, do you mind if I call you Gus?"

Similarly, Augustus went back to his own bed to lie down and continue his rest, hoping it wasn't impossible. He'd been wearing flip-flops and they were easy to remove. He laid down flat for a moment, his arms crossed beneath his head, his eyes closed, his eyebrows furrowed.

"I don't fucking care," he muttered. Dominik has already been calling him Gus anyway, and he's already gotten used to the irritating nickname that it didn't bother him anymore.

He didn't say anything else after that. He wanted to rest, and he assumed Dreizel would want the same thing. But for some stupid reason, his eyes didn't want to start closed. They wanted to open, and wander towards the other side of the room. Fucking dammit. Augustus let out an irritated groan and quickly turned to his side, his back facing the angel, because there was no way he was going to let himself look.

Dreizel let himself lie down a little longer before he pulled himself up to place his things on his closet. He opened his bag and unfolded the old, worn clothes to hang them. "You know I didn't mean to make you angry the first time we met," he said softly. "I wanted to see how far your patience stretched and I needed to know where your weak point was. If I had to look over you, I had to know those things. I realize I didn't need to piss you off before to know those things but I did anyway."

He finished then turned around to face Augustus' back. He took a breath. "So I'm sorry," he continued as he went to sit down on his bed, his feet pulled up and folded. He knew Augustus probably wouldn't care. He wanted to apologize anyway. If there was something the angel knew he could do, it was to show some TLC to get through a cold heart like that.

Maybe the coldness was half his fault for provoking Augustus before. Instead of showing understanding, he mocked Augustus by telling him he was just like the rest of his family, something the fallen angel knew he hated very much. Maybe it's one of the things he paid for in punishment when they took his ability to fly. Dreizel likes to think that fixing Augustus' attitude would merit him in the end. He is hoping it adds up to finally getting his flight back. Or at least shorten his time here on earth.
