Adelene started to nibble on her right thumb as she watched Yeagar begin to tinker with her laptop. She was pretty convinced he was good, especially with Rob around, but she couldn't help but be on edge seeing her beloved laptop getting its surgery.

Only the light atmosphere kept her still. The storytelling and all. "You're old," she said once repeated, snickering. "That's a good thing though, I mean if you've been in business for twenty years... that in itself says so much about your shop already."

Her feet swayed quietly over the floor as her eyes remained on her laptop. That didn't last too long though, as she turned her gaze curiously to the mechanic's face.

"You've seen me before...?"

Her eyes widened.

"You know my boss? Wait... But I don't remember anyone like you visiting the old man's shop before..."

Yeagar looked up from his work to only give a brief smile, before returning to it. Well his shop didn't look it, especially with the giant hole of indented concrete in the middle of the shop, but it did its job and very few ever complained. A second time. Without an explosive strapped to their item.

Yeagar noticed the look he was getting after mentioning he knew about her. Well, it did come out from left field so it was kind of strange. He simply shrugged at it though. Didn't bother him any and it wasn't all that strange.

"In the shop no. I mostly consult him over the phone or via email. If there is another blacksmith on this island worth a damn to listen to it's him. He can make the older stuff better then I can. I can make magical imbued weapons better then most if not everyone on the island. If I have all the right materials, wards, barriers, and such in place. Ever see magic go haywire? Not pretty."

Going back to the laptop a tiny spark emits from it where his tiny pole was. Kneeing a button under the bench a small round thing pops from the table and slowly begins to glow red. Now it just needed a moment to warm up and one fixed laptop. He hoped.

"Well I got good news and bad news. Good news is I found the problem. Just have to wield a few tiny bits back to the motherboard where they belong. Bad news is that this could end up breaking the laptop if I over do it on accident. Hard to tell even with the best lenses I own. Another piece of good news is I can put a temporary fix on it till I get a new motherboard to install into your laptop. Less risky, but also means you have to be far more careful with it till I get the motherboard. I'll leave the decision up to you. Just to remind you if I fail the repair I have a spare you can borrow till a new laptop comes in and I move everything onto the new laptop."

Yeagar continued to look at the problem in his magnifying lenses while talking to Adelene. It was all up to her whether or not he went through with it, though Yeagar himself honestly would do the temporary fix and wait for a new laptop. Though most people weren't on his skill level when it came to fixing things and moving around data.

"So how do you know me if you only consult the old guy that way?" Adelene sounded genuinely confused for a moment, before shaking her head to take back her question and saying, "No, nevermind..."

She was swaying her feet a little when Yeagar began to explain their current matter at hand to her. All she needed were her files, really, so hearing she can borrow a spare laptop while her own awaits fixing or destruction was enough for her. "You don't need to get me a new one, are you even serious?" she asked, leaning forward a little bit. "This is already a favor you're giving me. My files are safe, and that's all that matters. Besides, if you can't fix it, it only means it's hopeless, right? So please, I hope you're not serious."
@Bolt - im so sorry this took too long, plus i could only manage a short post.. ;-;

"Ha. Caught yourself there didn't you?"

Yeagar started to wield the piece onto the motherboard as she spoke. Well it was modest of her to say such, but it was Yeagar's pride as an engineer and mechanic that kept him from giving up. There wasn't anything he wasn't able to fix or replace if given enough time. This was just too delicate of a problem to fix and he couldn't exactly become Antman to fix it in person.

"It's policy. I'd say company policy, but that just means my own policy. When I fix something I do it right, no half-assing it. Unless I have to jury rig it temporarily. Rob!"

"Yes Yeagar?"

"We still have that unused laptop in my office right?"

"The one that was never picked up?"

"And that I wiped clean. Mind bringing it over?"

"Of course."

Yeagar continued to work on the tiny piece until Rob came walking out with the laptop. After setting it down he gives a small bow to Adelene before walking back into the main office. Yeagar sits back while pulling the lens up and setting his tools to the side. He reaches across the bench and removes the plug from Adelene's laptop and plugs it into the spare. After a few moments he sits back once more with his arms behind his head.

"Alright so here's the deal. Transferring files off like that is quick and simple for me. However loading them all back onto the spare will take a while. According to this we have about three hours to kill. So here are our options. I can drop you off at home and bring it back to you when its finished or you can hang around here for a few hours till its finished. I have another project I need to work on downstairs so you're free to come observe if you'd like. Also I'm ordering a pizza, hope you enjoy just pepperoni because I really don't feel like anything else right now. Hey Rob!"

"Yes?"

"Pizza."

"Pepperoni?"

"Yup. Need anything since I've bothered you more then normal today?"

"I already treated myself to an order of premium oil."

"Alright. So Adelene, what'll it be? Get it dropped of later or hang around and maybe see something explode?"

Strangely Yeagar was starting to enjoy the girl's company. Most customers didn't want to watch or care about what he did as long as he did it. He prided himself in his work so he figured someone watching made him work a little better. Or he just wanted to show off his projects. Either or.

@Trahnael don't worry about it. I just like typing a lot and don't mind short posts xD

Adelene chuckled in amusement, finding this certain policy Yeagar had quite unneeded, but bold, and she really wouldn't say anything anymore, she just let him be and watched even as Rob arrived with the spare laptop and the mechanic began to do his thing with it.

"You don't mind if I stay and wait for an explosion to happen?" she asked, and was genuinely surprised for a moment, before that was taken over by excitement. Addy loved explosions, when nobody gets hurt for it. She grinned and nodded, not even feeling a little bit shy for intruding even though that would usually be how she'd feel in circumstances like this. Moreover, her bad mood and stress have already been completely forgotten.

"I can stay! I mean... if you really don't mind, that is." She leaned back, tilting the chair back to its two back legs for a moment as she opened her arms to gesture at the whole building. "This place is amazing, have I mentioned that?" And then the chair went back to standing on fours, with a loud thud against the floor, and Adelene jumping a bit at the force.

Yeagar nodded as he slipped a cigarette behind his ear. He may not smoke around children, but he still had a few habits he still partook in. After double checking the process with the files was being transferred smoothly he stood up from his chair and smirked at the excitement Adelene had at the idea of something exploding.

"This is just the company workshop. Tell me what you think after I show you My workshop."

There was a heavy emphasis on the My as he started walking back into the hallway. He stopped mid way and seemingly kicked the wall for no reason. A small "click" noise was heard as the floor in front of him split apart to a descending staircase. Yeagar simply beckoned Adelene over his shoulder as he walked downstairs.

Lights began to turn on as he made his way down. Compared to the workshop above, the one underneath was far more high tech. The distance down the stairs had taken them a bit, but the giant space looked far larger then how far they walked down. The walls had moving gears behind glass, a flicking light appeared over a good four mile circle of concrete-looking flooring before them, and numerous tools, half finished projects, and other machines covered most of the work space. Almost like a secret government testing lab in movies and TV shows expect it had the same rusted look as Yeagar's shop upstairs. Yeagar himself walked over to the right wall where an array of weapons ranging from melee weapons, firearms, grenades, and other strange looking weapons littered the wall and the counter underneath it.

"First things first, do not touch anything unless I give you the okay to do so. That's for your own safety as these are things that I have to work on down here. A lot of it is disabled, but I wouldn't trust it. Anywho I promised explosions. So we have the standard crap. Grenades, launchers, rockets. Then we got the magic crap. C4....Well I think I have some C4 around here somewhere."

Yeagar grabs a simple grenade pistol from the wall and a few rounds. Nothing too fancy yet. He started walking over to what looked like a standard shooting range, though it was only the single booth with a decent sized table. He set the grenade pistol and the grenades on the table and punched in a few buttons on a console on the wall causing a few targets down range on the concrete to pop up from the center all the way to the edges in equal measurements in all eight cardinal directions.

"Alright. Don't worry about any backfire unless you somehow go full retard and shoot it directly into the table. There is a giant barrier that surrounds the entire testing chamber that can withstand close to a nuke. I've stressed tested that one. So all you gotta do is," Yeagar picked up the grenade pistol and took aim downrange as close to the center as possible before firing, " Do that and you'll be good to go. Angle a little up and it'll go further."

The sound of the grenade exploding as is collided with the ground brought music to his ears as well as a genuine smile. It was one of the few things in life he honestly enjoyed and would always smile about. Yeagar looked at Adelene before getting a small idea, turning around slightly to press a few more buttons as a reinforced stool popped slowly raised from the floor.

"Let's see if you can handle the simple stuff before we move onto the fun stuff."

Yeagar set the pistol on the table and a single grenade next to it. He didn't want to load it for her and knew the dangers of doing that before hand with someone inexperienced. Still he had 911 on speed dial on the chance she got hurt from this.

Adelene didn't know what to expect, in all honesty. But she was excited, and as she followed Yeagar down the cool stairs, an eerily familiar feeling crept up all over her, giving her goose bumps the further they went down. It was like she's been to a place like this before. Not exactly THIS workshop, but some other place so similar, the air was almost nostalgic.

And the feeling just worsened as they finally moved away from the stairs and into the workshop itself. There were so many gears and machines and even some weapons lying around, and Addy was starting to have mixed feelings, because the nostalgia was bugging her, yet the excitement made her look forward to what Yeagar had to show her.

Plus, she was awestruck.

"Yeagar, this is... It's all you, right?" she asked, looking around. Even without him telling her not to touch anything, she already knew she shouldn't. Once upon a time, she tried to mess with a few gadgets without asking permission and a certain someone got really angry at her. It was scary, and Adelene could remember that feeling.

But she couldn't remember where this happened, or who that person was.

"You'll get along perfectly fine with...." Her sentence broke off, and her eyebrows furrowed as she tried to remember what she was going to say. She really couldn't remember who this person was, but she was sure she knew someone, maybe... maybe from long ago, from before the beginning of her memories.

She shook her head. "Nevermind." She went closer to Yeagar and watched his demonstration on the grenade pistol, even though she already knew how to handle that weapon, by heart. It made her giggle, because the two of them looked so hyped this way, but the man didn't seem to get the clue that she was already so used to this.

"Oh, please." She rolled her eyes as Yeagar put the weapon down on the table for her. She loaded it pretty quickly, much like how a trained soldier would because this kind of speed is necessary when in an actual battlefield. It's almost been a year ever since Adelene left that violent life, but her muscles would never forget how to move the way she wanted them to.

As she tinkered with the weapon, her mind at the same time was also able to read its whole structure, down to the very last screw and spring inside. Which gave her the ability to copy the weapon, and summon it next time whenever she pleases.

"Like this, right?" she asked, aiming for the center for only a second before firing, and, of course, hitting her target accurately. The explosions were indeed music to the ears, and just like Yeagar, Adelene can't help but smile at it.

"Everything here I've built with my own hands. Most of the firearms, ammo, and explosives I've bought through legal channels. The heads of Manta Carlos know what I do down here is strictly for personal use. Sides it's not like I have a reason to go mad bomber. I enjoy this community despite what rumors might say."

Yeagar had caught onto Adelene's strange behavior, but decided to keep it in his mind for now. There was no reason to be nosy, but it did cause him some concern. He raised his eyebrow when she mentioned he'd get along with someone, but no name ever came. That was strange indeed, which made him make a mental note to learn more about Adelene later. Public records and such.

A full blown smile hit when he saw how skillfully and quickly she had loaded the grenade pistol, aimed, and fired the weapon without as much as any problems. It struck him more as a worry too that she knew how to use such a weapon, but where? Well it didn't matter since nothing happened expect for more music to his ears.

"So where'd you learn to use that? No one your age should even be familiar with that outside of a video game. Unless the military's of the world have changed since my days in the army. Curiosity, since most kids at Starlight have powers mind if I ask what yours are? It's also a safety thing as well. Electrical or flame related can set off a lot of things down here and that's one explosion I don't want to outrun."

Yeagar glanced over at his wall of weapons. What would be the next step up from a grenade pistol? RPG? Semi-Auto Grenade Launcher? No he had something more exciting. But he'd leave that for another time since it wasn't exactly ready yet.

"Alright I'll let you choose the next masterpiece we play. Name something and I most likely have it somewhere down here. This is only the main room, I still have a few other rooms with other projects and more weapon storage. And I'm already declaring any magic weaponry off limits. Too unstable and these barriers aren't meant for magic. More for kinetic energy displacement."

———————————-

Rob was in the office thinking to himself. This was strange. Yeagar never showed this much concern or emotion to anyone besides Eli. So what made this Adelene girl different? Well if it meant Yeagar wasn't grumpy he didn't mind. It was rare to see the man smile like he was when with another human being. And it was a good sight.

@Trahnael Not joking when I say Yeagar may have just about anything ranging from simple handguns to a multi-turrent missile launcher xD

If they'd met during Adelene's first few weeks in the island, the girl would never have revealed her familiarity with weapons, more so her powers. But that wasn't the case, and Addy immediately grinned at Yeagar and his question.

"I read and copy weapons, basically. They're not exactly magic so no worries," she said, putting the grenade pistol down and summoning another one as demonstration. The weapon that formed was identical to the original one. Adelene aimed at the targets once more, and fired, before the grenade pistol poofed back into black particles and returned to her.

She took one step away from the firing range. "I've always been good with weapons. Not sure how that happened since I lost my memories from when I was a kid, but I guess the answer to your question's hiding in there somewhere," she said, shrugging. "I wish we can do this outdoors though..."

As if an idea just hit her, Adelene jumped in place, her eyes wide. She grabbed the man's shirt and shook him slightly. "How about playing some survival games one time, Yeagar? One on one! Ever heard of Airsoft? Let's do that insteeeaaaad!"

"Mimicry? That's pretty nifty, even if it's just weapons. Right tool for the right situation, but that's just the veteran in me talking."

Not much impressed Yeagar anymore since he had come to the Islands, but this was a unique moment to him. Most of his clients, regardless of age, were put off and didn't want to deal with him or even had remotely close to his same hobbies. Hell even Eli hadn't seen His workshop and Yeagar considered the girl almost a surrogate daughter.

"No memory, huh? That really is a shame. Seems like you've worked past tha....What are you doing?"

As Addy started jumping up and down while holding onto his shirt talking about airsoft he just did his normal deadpan stare. Airsoft? Well he wasn't against the idea, but....Well he supposed he could humor her a bit. She did have a knack with weapons he wanted to test out for himself, and this was the safest way afterall.

"Hmm. Well I guess we can. I used to have a place we could use, but stress tests. Let's not get into it. As you can see I deal in the real firearms so I don't exactly have a fake one. If you know of a store nearby that sells them I'll fit the bill. I know they're toys, but I don't know if they would sell them to you at your age. But before we go."

Yeagar picked up the grenade pistol once more and fired the loaded shell out into the middle of his firing range, one last sound of music to fill his ears before they headed out. Some might find it strange, but he loved the smell of of a recently shot firearm or explosive. That and since he wasn't smoking this was the next best thing.

"Head on upstairs, I gotta shut things down carefully to avoid a possible accident."

He simply nodded back at the staircase, though this was closer to his sarcastic normal tone compared to the one had been using which was far gentler and....Still full of the sarcastic tone.
