Turquoise Glitter

He stood in more or less the center of the party, looking sharp and quietly pensive. They were dressed in head to toe in white, with black gloves to cover their hands and accents of red, like concentrated flecks of blood, with purple eyes peering through the mask. He was clearly wearing contact lenses. He thought it would be good to cover all of his bases.

His face was covered in a simple turquoise full-face mask with silver glittering around the eyes, decorated with red feathers.

It was nice, he thought, arms behind his back and standing stock still as more people entered. He walked closer to the entrance and bowed at the waist, offering his hand to the lady in the White Mask and Blue Feather.

"Care for a dance?" he asked, his voice just loud enough to be heard over the crowd.

White Mask and Blue Feather

She tugged on the beads of her pearls nervously before offering her hand to the man with a turquoise mask. Despite the nervousness in her tone and posture, there was an enthusiastic spring in her step as she pulled herself closer to him.

"Right. Yes..." She cleared her throat, feeling a blush dusting her cheeks. "As a disclaimer, I want you to know that I only took ballroom dancing as a brief thing in Freshman High School, so I'm sorry for stepping on your feet in advance."

Her eyes darted to the crowd again. It was enchanting, like a fairy tale gone to life, but her real first thought was: Yikes, that dance floor is intimidating. But she held her head high like any princess worth a damn should.

Marina Bellamy

Women like her didn't need obscurity.

Marina Bellamy entered the Ballroom like a goddess, with a flowing aquamarine dress that fluttered like ocean waves around her feet. Her mask was plain white; her hair flowed like elegant golden silk in their full length. Large, white beds with a seashell pendant adorned her naked neck. Her make-up was light, but that was appealing in its own way — the cream of her skin and the soft pink of her lips blended perfectly.

She looked like a princess looking for her prince.

Instead, she stopped in front of the loser in a t-shirt and jeans in a corner.

"Stand up and dance with me."

[3/4 mask, Half-White Half-Black, separated by gold leaf]

He entered and slid in behind everyone else. The pendant around his neck acted as his glamour, plain brown hair gelled playfully around his head.

As far as garments, he wore a black vest with a white shirt and bowtie. He adjusted the bowtie slightly and strode into the party further. He strode in, taking in the decor. It was nice...

He walked up to a man wearing what looked like a stately Silver Mask with Golden Etchings and gave an inclination of a bow. "Hello. I couldn't help but notice your sleek, daring silhouette."

A white half-mask with blue outlines covers another girl's upper face down to her nose. Her hair is fully but loosely braided to the back, so the shorter hair on each side of her face falls down naturally. Same with her bangs which were pushed to the right side of her face. She wears a white gown with straps and loose shoulder lines. Its sleeves falls gracefully over her arms to her elbows like gentle snow showing upon her. The gown reaches her ankles, leaving her closed three-inches-high-heeled sky-blue sandals exposed.

In the other side of the hall, a curious girl was slowly walking to look around. Masks didn't matter to her, but she decided she loved how everyone was a stranger to one another this way. The anonymity was exciting.

She ended up near the food tables for some reason. She was sure she wasn't aiming for food, but she still got there somehow. She tilted her head before looking around. Huh. And then she spotted the guy nearby, who almost looked like he wasn't really minding his surroundings much. "Hi," she greeted gently, too gently that she wasn't sure she was even heard. For some reason she wasn't as hyper and cheery as usual. Most probably because she didn't want to ruin the dress.

A Maiden of Roses and Blood

Guest
A full mask of black and white (black on the right and white on the left) covers a small face. Rose petals decorate the corners of the mask beside the eyes where the temples are. This girl is wearing a gown of blood's color. This gown covers her neck down to the tip of her black wedge sandals, but leaves her shoulders and arms exposed. Her right shoulder had a dark red rose ornament strapped over it. Her black hair is tied up to a fancy bun, the sides of her hair loose, and her bangs clipped to the right by a plain black ribbon. Her eyes beneath the mask were purple, but if one looks closely, it wasn't their natural color.

She had no idea why she was here in the first place. The announcement came up and everyone was so hyped about it that she thought, "Hey, why not. I don't live under a rock, might as well go." She wasn't a fan of gowns. But she was wearing one tonight anyway, one so elegant, one that outlined her petite shape at that, and she was walking across the hall as gracefully and carefully as possible. She loved the idea that nobody might recognize her in her outfit. After all, who would expect her to wear a gown and attend a ball willingly? Her eyes, her worst giveaway, have been masked by contacts. She was confident nobody would recognize her.

She looked around. Her mask made her feel anonymous, and therefore didn't feel awkward being alone in the huge hall. She walked to a corner, hoping to watch everything from there if nothing worth bothering comes up. Nobody was going to come near her, she was almost sure of that. And it wasn't like she cared. She was mostly just here to be a filler in the crowd and an addition to the pairs of eyes that would be watching beautiful people dance.

Once the hand was given, he rose from his bow and lead her to the dance floor. He could tell she was nervous, but also that there was an excitement in her movement.

The man laughed, although it was muffled by his mask, it was loud enough to hear. "I'll keep that in mind. I have a disclaimer of my own." He lead them to a mostly empty section of the floor, placing a hand on her hip and turning their hands so they were in a proper dancing starting position. "These kinds of balls arent exactly my normal thing. Forgive me if I make mistakes.

With his disclaimer out of the way, he lead them around the dance floor in simple, uncomplicated steps. One, two, three, four. One, two three four. One, three, four, five, six, seven, eight.

After a minute, he could step without checking his feet.

"Considering you've only taken the one class, I take this kind of thing isn't up your alley either, huh?"

Marina Bellamy

Marina scoffed. "If you think dancing with one miscreant is going to trash my reputation, you're seriously underestimating how powerful I am, my dear."

There were people listening in to their conversation, and that wasn't good. Marina placed both her hands on her hips and towered over the poor boy, like a strong pillar casting a shadow over smaller creatures. She side-eyed the crowd quickly.

"I need to talk to you," she said, in a voice only loud enough for Evan to hear. "Nobody's going to be listening to us in the dance floor." And even if they did, the dance's movements would keep it impossible for them to tune in without making it obvious. She tilted her head to the dance floor.

"Come on. Let's go before we start making a scene." She offered him her hand.

[3/4 Mask, Half White and Half Black]

His brown eyes glittered slightly at the compliment, the smile he flashed easily reaching his eyes. With deliberate flare, he once again adjusted his bowtie. "I would love to dance."

Well, he wasn't much of a ballroom dancer, but he'd taken a few courses to satisfy that gym requirement he thought was so stupid. But now that he was about to take someone onto the dance floor, he was glad that he'd done it. Plus, he was a good normal dancer. He liked to break dance.

"After you," he said, gesturing towards the dance floor.
