Sickness isn't fun...

Mery laughed softly. "Shoes are good. I like shoes. High heels are kind of painful, but I don't suppose you'd know that from experience." She said, which made her throat scratch. She coughed and took another drink of water.

He laughed again. "No, I wouldn't know that," he said to her comment about high heels. He could imagine they were painful, though, and he honestly wondered why women wore them sometimes if they hurt so much. As she coughed again, he still couldn't help but worry. "You alright?" he asked her.

Mery nodded. "Yep. I wonder what makes people cough? I'd think it would be a lack of air, but that doesn't really make sense..." She tried to remember if she'd ever heard why, but her brain was pretty much dead.

Mery nodded. "Probably." She thought for a second. "Are we going to the Valentine's Day dance?" She asked, confident that she would be find by then.

"Are we going to the Valentine's Day dance?"

The young man nodded his head. "Of course, if you want to go," he said. "But if you aren't better, we shouldn't go. Ok?" He was sure she would understand that if she still wasn't feeling well they would have to stay at the school, but he did hope she would be better by then.

Mery nodded her agreement. "Of course. But I'm sure I'll be fine by then. At the most, just a little tired." She assured him. "Anyway, if I'm not feeling well, you can go anyway." She doubted he'd agree to that, but she didn't think it was fair that he didn't get to go just because of her.

Nicolas nodded. He was sure she would be better by then as well... at least, he hoped so. He shook his head when she told him to go alone if she was still sick, absolutely refusing to do what she had just said. "No way," he said. "I wouldn't go without you. What would I do if I went alone? Just stand there and worry about you? I'd rather stay here with you if you're still sick by then."

Mery smiled. She knew he was going to say something like that. She was glad too. "Well, that's true I suppose." She said.
