Sickness isn't fun...

Mery wanted to ignore the fact that she had to get up, but she didn't. She'd slept long enough anyway. Trying to ignore the burning in her throat, and the throbbing in her head, and the general foggy feelings, she started getting dressed. Nikki would be there soon anyway.

The young man jogged up the steps that led to the girls dorms, looking around once he reached the top and walking toward his girlfriend's room. They were going out, and he had said he would pick her up, so he would obviously be coming here. Nicolas came to her door and knocked on it, waiting outside patiently. Of course, he had no idea that she wasn't exactly feeling well. If he had known, he wouldn't have bothered her.

Mery sighed when she heard a knock on the door. "Just a sec!" She coughed, surprisingly hard, and pulled on her coat. She put her hair up into a pony tail. She walked to the door and opened it. "Morning." She croaked out.

He didn't even need to see her when he heard that cough. Nicolas immediately came to the conclusion that she wasn't feeling well, and he was not going to allow her to go anywhere if she was sick. Upon hearing her voice like that, his golden eyes filled with concern, and he wrapped an arm around her shoulders. "Morning..." he greeted in return. "Mery, are you feeling alright? You don't look, or sound, well..."

Mery started to shake her head, but that hurt. "It's probably just a cold." She didn't mention that if it was a cold, it was beyond the worse that she had ever got. "I don't really feel like going any where though. Is it okay if we just hang out here?" She asked, feeling kind of selfish.

Nicolas wasn't sure if he believed her when she said it was a cold, and just couldn't help but worry about her health. He nodded, though, deciding to keep a close eye on her in case she needed to go to a nurse. He didn't care if she might refuse, if anything got worse, she was going whether she liked it or not.

".... Is it okay if we just hang out here?"

"Of course," he said. "I would never make you go somewhere if you weren't feeling well, hon." With that, he removed his arm from her shoulders and took her hand, leading her away from her room, watching her our of the corner of his eye to make sure she was alright.

Mery smiled at his words. How lucky am I? She coughed again and sniffed. "Sorry you have to put up with my sicknesses." She said softly, because it hurt too much to speak in a normal tone of voice. She squeezed his hand gently.

Nicolas laughed softly, offering her a small smile, even if she couldn't see it. How could he not smile when he was around her? He loved her. True, she was ill, and it might have been something to worry about, but he still couldn't help but be happy when he was around her. "Don't apologize," he told her softly. "It's alright. If you want me to take you to the nurse, let me know, alright?"

Mery nodded, and continued smiling. "Honestly, I'm already feeling a bit better." That was true. She didn't feel better around Nikki. "So, uh...where are we going?" She asked, trying to muffle another cough, but not succeeding, so her words came out Where are ee ooing?. She cleared her throat and repeated what she had said.

Upon hearing her cough again, Nicolas decided that they needed to go to the hospital. Even if it really did end up only being a cold, it was still worth going there. He was just far too worried about her. "We're going to the hospital wing..." he said. "If it's a cold, fine, then I won't be so worried. But I have to know you're going to be alright."
