Nerina held the lobster up to the man so that he would get a really good look. She grasped it by its back so it could not reach her fingers. Its legs flailed in the air like a gigantic arachnid crustacean. For most people this might horrify them. The man's interest may be even more piqued to see this rare life form out of the water.

"It's a spiny lobster. You can cook it. Its meat is very soft and fragrant."

While the man was looking at the lobster, Nerina was taking a very good look at the man's face. While she was rather extravagant looking herself, this man's eyes were very peculiar. She then took a peek at Lanslo, and then addressed the man from the spaceship.

"What are you? What are you called? Lah-so, do you know?"

Lanslo was a bit bummed her couldn't touch anything, but he did get to look at it. He drew some doodles of the materials he saw, then focused on the lobster the man was looking at. A spiny Lobster, that sounded interesting. Because of where he was born, Lanslo never had much of a chance to eat sea food, it was never fresh caught, and since it came from for away it was expensive.

He laughed a little at the two trying to pronounce his name. "Oh, it's pronounced Lans-lo. Like land without the 'd' and add an 's'. Only always add the 's', but never never add a 'd'. I'm very picky when it comes to people pronouncing my name right. You can call me Lans if you'd like though." He looked at the lobster, than at the apparently captivated man. He was pretty sure he hadn't said his name yet. "I don't his name, what is your name?" He asked, turning to the alien man. Yea, he needed something else to call him.

Not like he looked like an alien, but he was riding in a big aircraft, and it fell from the, well, stars. So yes, most people would call him an alien. Lanslo couldn't wait to ask this guy all about himself. Where had he come from ,what exactly was he, and what was he doing before he crashed? Curious minds need answers. Especially Lanslo. It was one bad thing about his intelligence, he couldn't leave something alone until he knew all there was to know about it.

He cleared his mind, so that he could pay full attention to the man he he talked. He reopened his notebook, and got ready to write down his name. Hopefully it wasn't anything to weird, not that it mattered, he was an ace at spelling. And a bunch of other things to. He flipped his jet black hair, and sent a little glance to the young woman again. He wondered when she had arrived on the beach.

"Spi-ny lob-ster. Soft and fra-grant. Note: Try eat-ing."

The errant flailings of the crustacean hardly fazed the young man at all. In fact, it fascinated him enough to start typing out his observations and Nerina's advice on the touchscreen mounted on his metal gauntlet. The characters on the screen, however, were incomprehensible to anyone except the young man. To finish off his observation, he pointed his fist at the lobster and let a little beam of light scan over a few times, presumably to save its image.

Nerina's question, despite being a rather pointed one, seemed to bounce right off his head.

"Oh, me? No one special. But you can call me--"

The sound that came out of his mouth when he tried to introduce himself wasn't understandable in the least. It sounded like his voice box had too much warble and static in it, like it was an out of tune radio. He froze in surprise before trying again, only to get the same result. Tapping his gauntlet, he sighed.

"Oh well. Seems the translator isn't totally unharmed. Call me whatever you know. Maybe Lan-so, er, Lansssloooo has a name for me. You got a name for me, Lanslo?"

"Landslo. Lanslo. Lans." Nerina said, reducing Lanslo's name bit by bit. She seemed to be satisfied with calling him Lans. "I'm Nerina," she said. She would offer him a hand for a handshake, but her hands were full with holding up the spiny lobster while the strange man from the sky was scanning the creature with a device attached to his gauntlet.

She couldn't catch his name. All she heard was the buzz of static and warbling, gargling sounds.

"I have a name suggestion," Nerina piped up. She looked at the man with an excited expression on her face. "You emerged from a metal pod, like how a baby shark emerges from a leathery sac. I would like to call you Sevengill. Or Mako, like Shortfin Mako. "

There were many sharks that Nerina could have named him after. Like Great White, Nurse, Sleeper, Hammerhead, Gummy, Wobbegong... But they didn't seem to have the right ring to it.

Lanslo listened carefully as the man tried to say his name, but he couldn't understand it. He wasn't sure what to call him, but Sevengill was a possibility. He racked his brain for names that could mean something about this guy. Then he though of one.

"Well, there's Aakesh, which means 'lord of the sky' seems pretty appropriate for a guy like you. Or Orion would be cool, very cool." he didn't really feel like thinking of any more names, if the guy like Nerina's name better, that was okay.

Lanslo looked at the spiny lobster, it felt a little sickening to see the thing alive, and to think about eating it. Being able to shift from a human to a wolf and back again always convicted him about eating meat. Maybe he should trim down, or have day where he went completely without it. After all, he'd rather study the animals- alive- then eat them dead.

Not that he saw anything wrong with other people eating meat. That's what specific animals were for after all, and who was he to judge them. To him, either way was good. The young lady seemed to know a bit about sharks and such, how interesting. He'd love to talk to her about them, but right now it was late evening, and they were standing on a beach with an alien guy with no name. Lanslo wrote down the name suggestions and their meaning in his notebook. he flipped it shut, something that you'd seem him do constantly.

"Sevengill. Mako. Aakesh. Orion. Hm...."

The strange young man would only go on to further prove his strangeness to Nerina and Lanslo. It was one thing to be deep in thought and look like he was deep in thought--with his hand on his chin and a mildly intense look on his face--but it was another to take that look to further extremes. As he contemplated the names presented to him, he hunched further and further over as if his brain was gaining weight the more he thought. Eventually he just stretched himself out on the sand and began rolling from side to side, still looking like he was thinking intensely.

"HMMMM...."

His hand even stayed glued to his chin like he was thinking... normally. Except he was rolling on the sand, only occasionally looking up at Lanslo or Nerina.

"I can't decide! You two!"

He sat bolt upright again and pointed a finger at both of his compatriots.

"I've narrowed it to Sevengill or Orion. Make a case for them. Go!'

His form-fitting suit was going to get sandy like that, but maybe turning round and round would get the blood flowing within his brain. Nerina just watched him expressionlessly, still holding the lobster in her hands. Until finally, he came to no decision.

Nerina looked at Lanslo, and frowned a little. She was never good at debating. She would always stutter and shy away, but she had only done it twice in her life. She couldn't make a case, but she was willing to make a compromise. But Lanslo had this either tired or intelligent look on his face that made her not make a case even more.

"He needs a last name too. In case he wants to fill out documents." Nerina nodded wisely. Being older and still job-hunting, she understood the importance of surnames, and most places would not let you get away with just a first name.

"Orion Sevengill sounds nice. Or should it be Sevengill Orion?"

Lanslo smiled. It was understanding that he couldn't choose, he didn't want to take sides. Lans didn't ind if he chose Nerina's name over his, but since he was indecisive, something had to be done. He liked the idea of a compromise. He wasn't sure which one would make a better last name, but he figured that he was going to be the finalizing voice in it.

"I personally think it sounds better if your first name has fewer syllables than your last. Let's call you Orion Sevengill like you said Nerina, that way both the names are used." He smiled, he liked using his wisdom to help people. Orion Sevengill. A strange name indeed, but then again, this guy fell from the stars.

"What do you think about that? Orion?" He thought it sounded good. "You are now Orion Sevengill!" He smiled he thought the name was cool. Definitely something you wouldn't run into anywhere else. He just hoped "Orion" liked his name. It was always hard if you didn't like your name. He liked his name plenty he'd never met or heard of anyone with his name. Mostly because his parents made it up. If you added a "w" to it it was a last name, but he was glad there was no "w". He had added his own meaning of "one of observance," to fit his personality.

He snapped out of his thoughts. It was so easy to get lost when you have so much to think about. Like velocity of gravity, or molecules. Ahh, so interesting, but not to most people. But hey, each to his own right? 'Concentrate Lans' he thought to himself 'he's going to tell you if he likes his new name!'

"Then it's decided!"

The young man now know as Orion, rolled onto his back and raised his legs into air. With a spry kick, he leaped back to his feet in a single move and and held his gauntlet up to his mouth as he typed a few characters into the touch pad.

"With aid from Lanslo and Nerina, (garbled noise) will now be known as Orion Sevengill here!"

Judging by how he was proclaiming his new name into his gauntlet, Orion was probably recording it into the device for future use. The device bleeped and blooped in recognition of its wearer's new name. Then, after a few more excited buttons presses on the part of Orion, he held his hand up and little colored beams of light shone from his fingers as he wiggled them about in a celebratory manner.

"Yay~"

He shot off the impromptu light show by closing his fist and making for his downed ship again, this time while squeezing them rest of him out of his suit. By the time he had reached the opening of the capsule, he had tossed the thing onto the sand, leaving himself naked as he entered the cockpit once more. It sounded like he rummaging around a bit more.

"Ah, but there will be time to celebrate more later. Right now I gotta salvage what I can and get myself some less conspicuous clothes. What kind of clothes do people wear around here?"

"Welcome to Earth, Orion Sevengill!" Nerina clapped politely with a smile on her face. When there was a little light display going on, she gave some cheers and swayed her upper body in a rhythmic dance motion.

Though the little party was over very soon. He sounded like he was getting out of that really tight party suit. She couldn't tell, her eyes were looking at the cliff as distraction.

The question of appropriate attire on Earth was brought up. She blinked rapidly, her attention now back with people. Since Sevengill was an alien, or was from an alien planet, she didn't mind about him knowing she was a mermaid, though she would not hold it against him if he thought the human species on Earth displayed considerable sexual dimorphism if their females had no legs and seemed much longer than males, her being the first female he would see upon arrival.

She also had a feeling Lanslo wouldn't tell anyone. She feared having her picture taken like this.

Orion's question still lingered in the air.

"Um..."

Nerina looked down at herself. She still had her mermaid tail, the bottom part supported in the sandy shore, like a cobra poised. Her top half was bare, but mostly covered with wet red hair.

"Ask Lans about that." She smiled sheepishly.
