Name: Laelynn Yuèliàng aka, Holly.
Age: 1057 years.
Birthday: can't remember.
Gender: female
Species: Dragon
Category: Citizen
Career: Human Resources / Personnel

Appearance Description: Lynn has a small stature, narrow and slim, with not much visible muscle. She stands with a height of five feet exactly. She has a complexion as white as ash and smooth as silk, while her eyes glow with a fire brighter than embers. Her hair is a brilliant red in colour, like flames growing from her scalp, falling down past her shoulders and brushing the area where her wings connect to her back. A few wisps of hair seem to float unnaturally away from her head as if drifting in constant gusts of wind.
She wears a white silk dress, almost a cross between a wedding dress and a summer dress. It ties at the front with a peach-orange ribbon bow and ruffles around her legs in the same breeze as her hair.
Lynn’s dragon form is roughly the size of a great eagle, if not slightly bigger. She is quadrupedal, about two feet tall and weighs approximately 40 lbs, with a wingspan of 2 meters. Instead of scales, Lynn has very fine, downy feathers in all range of colours from white to red to blue, with the colours arranged in such a way to look like fire. On dry, hot days, the feathers burn with a cool fire, hot enough to create warmth but not enough to burn. If she gets wet the fire will extinguish and her colours will fade. Her human wingspan is approximately 7 meters, and there aren't any changes in colour.

Personality Description: Lynn’s personality is just as light and fluffy as her feathers. She truly believes that the world can be perfect simply because she wants it to be. Always polite and kind, she's never scared of anyone because she knows, that somewhere in every monster there's a beating heart, however she's wise enough to not let the monsters take advantage of her kindness.
Lynn’s innocence shines too brightly for her personality to have a shadow, instead she's just rather clueless as to the difference between legal and illegal. So long as no one is harmed and nothing gets damaged, it isn't wrong, right? The usually greedy nature of dragons has not passed over Lynn, but what she hoards doesn't have any monetary value. Instead of somwtjing shiny or valuable, Lynn hoards people. All kinds of people, from all different countries and ethnicities, from horrible criminals to friendly old neighbors, to the homeless out on the street and the owners of the fanciest mansion. Everyone is a friend. Lynn draws people in like bugs to a lantern, mostly due to her powers.

Powers: Lynn can see and manipulate the red strings of destiny, the ties that bind loves together. For the most part, she will follow the strings already made to nudge lovers together however she is fully entitled to create her own as well. She carries a skein of red silk thread with her at all times, and uses that to form new bonds.

Strings already binding people stretch and lose colour but never break. The brighter the colour of the string, the stronger the bond between the couple. One person could have multiple bonds, only one string, or perhaps none, depending on their chances of finding and wooing the people that will make them better. Considering that there are north of 6 billion humans in the world, the deities who tie the strings have gotten less specific about the bonded pair. One could go an entire life without meeting their soul mate, or meet several in the same day without any strings attached.

The string itself has no power to bring anyone together, so that is usually left to chance, however there are many soul mates who would never interact, and so, they require a bit of a nudge from a deity or their assistants like Lynn. A specific colour of shirt worn shopping, a leash fraying at just the right time, or forgetting to grab an umbrella on a rainy day. Since Lynn has no strings, the skein she carries around attempts to find her a bond from the people she meets. The methods of finding a bond confuse the strings, as the only requirement for two people being soul mates is that they will make eachother the best versions of themselves, and Lynn does her best to make everyone a better person. The confusion it causes creates a bubble of energy around Laelynn of amiable affection, giving generally amiable people to be fond of her while not-so-amiable people just feel uncomfortable with being not-so-amiable around her.

Lynn’s bonds are usually done following some romantic story, such as Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, and Rapunzel, with an occasional Bonnie and Clyde, or Jeckyl and Hyde if it's absolutely necessary. Creating new bonds requires a lot of forethought and planning that she doesn't usually have the time for, however if she's asked to do so, Lynn does everything in her power to make it perfect. Usually, this means placing some sort of fairy tale ‘curse’ on the string that only the other bonded person can break. Ie, turning a rude prince into a monster until he can find true love, or a hideous deformity that will vanish after the bonded couple has kissed. The target always has a say in which curse they are given, so it's usually rare that they receive one at all.

Species Abilities: Functional Immortality: Lynn has been taught that she likely won't grow much older than her mid 20’s, however considering the natural life span of her dragon side, she's reached mental maturity faster than expected while her body is slightly behind.

Flight: Lynn can fly, but having been raised without any guide to being a dragon, she can only do so safely in her human form. In her dragon form, she tends to lose balance midair and crash.

Biography: Unbeknownst to Laelynn and her father, she was the last Naritoloth egg to hatch. Her egg was late to hatch, and when the purge started, her distant cousins found a way to transport her egg across the continent with the intent to join her later, but never made it. Instead, Laelynn was raised in an orphanage somewhere in china. She spent years praying to the moon for someone to come get her and to love her, while helping ensure that her friends in the orphanage found families.
In response to her prayers, Laelynn was adopted by Yuè Xia Lăorén, the Chinese deity of marriage and love. He raised her to see the good in people, even the ones who had no obvious good qualities. After it became evident that Lynn wouldn't live a normal human lifespan, Yuè began to teach her the world of deities and mythical creatures.
At about 500 years old she met a chinese dragon, who taught her about what she was. Laelynn, however, had no intrest in being a dragon. She admired the work of her adoptive father, and wanted to be like him. The dragon taught her to fly with wings even when she was human and how to change into her dragon form (which he was very much amused by).
For about 1100 years, Yuè raised and taught Lynn how to connect people's hearts. Their methods changed as populations grew, as did the number of deities watching over people. Lynn was never on the forefront of the neverending battle to find everyone love. Her goal was to make sure the two lovers found eachother, throughout all of the turmoil that was life.

It was through doing this, that she found Chessmate. The one string that was faded on one side but bright red on the other. The sign of a recent loss. Lynn followed the string to the large vineyard where Chessmate was starting to develop, and found a whole new world beyond the one she knew. Demons and angels and everything in between. It was an astounding discovery that she whole heartedly agreed to work with when they needed help. Her curiosity wasn't enough to make her stay for long though.

Within weeks she was off agian, searching for threads to unite. After another few years of travel interspersed with a month here and there of helping Chessmate, Lynn found herself above an island she'd never heard of before. Her curiosity brought her to land on the hidden island of Manta Carlos.
