Love Cruise: Students
This Valentine's Day, the Manta Carlos Islands is offering a free weekend cruise from Feb 11-12 especially for the students! The S.S. Loveboat is a deluxe cruise ship with stunning accommodations, swimming pools, gaming rooms, and servants to answer your beck and call.

Rooms are available in single, couple, and group, all of which are free to anyone who boards, but food isn't, so pack some food or some money and join in the fun.

The Deck

The deck for the weekend cruise is the best way to socialize. At the center of the deck is a large pool surrounded by wooden recliners and umbrellas, with a big volleyball net at the center, several slides all around. Around the pool are also pool toys and lifesavers. There's a buffet table with a punch, chips, and other assortments of snacks to the side.

There's a quieter area inside, a cafe lounge with books, board games, and a TV playing superhero movies for shyer or quieter types of people. There's an amazing view of the ocean at the side. Next to the lounge is are three restaurants — seafood, Japanese barbeque and pizza — combined into one.

The dress code is strictly beach wear around the deck and more casual around the lounge.

Check out the official Love Cruise event thread here for more information about the Love Cruise event! Branch off threads highly encouraged! Prefix them with [event] and tag them with "love cruise."

Nova

Nova turned up to the Love Cruise- as planned. Technically she was single, and could just as easily been playing in the speed dating, but she had been invited by Roland to join him on the boat. Regardless, the two had booked their own rooms. They were definitely not a couple yet, nor may they ever be. In fact, the whole idea of the boat being a 'Love Cruise' made her feel a bit uncomfortable. Nova and Roland were barely even in like, let alone love.

Nova boarded the ship quickly and unpacked her belongings in her room. It was very little, a spare bathing suit, a couple of outfits, a towel and some money. Rushing out to the pool deck, Roland was nowhere to be seen, so she decided the pool was the best place for her. Her bikini was black, because there were no colours that looked any good on her skin, and very simple in style. After all, her chest was quite small.

Diving into the pool and allowing her gills to support her breathing, Nova swan around for a while before resurfacing. Her hair immediately bounced back to its original shape, being waterproof. She was a bit self-conscious about displaying so much of her green skin but ultimately crushed the worries and decided that it was the accepted attire for a pool deck.

Waiting around for Roland, Nova sighed. What if he never turned up and left her there alone? She probably would not be allowed to dive overboard and swim back to the mainland.

Erinella Sinclair
Erin couldn't believe her parents had dragged her onto a stupid Love Cruise when she didn't even know anyone in Manta Carlos! What's more, they sent her away so they could have some alone time. Now she was lonely.

At least the ship was big, she thought. There was certainly plenty to do- well, if she had someone to do it with. She wore the fluorescent one-piece bathing suit her parents had bought her in exchange for being on the cruise. She also had a black one in case she decided to switch forms.

Heading onto the pool deck, Erin went straight to the buffet table to feast on chips. She hadn't fed on coffee or energy for hours and was becoming a bit peckish. She had promised herself not to feed on any guest onboard the ship but she was just really hungry. The feeling was growing and the chips she ate were far from enough. Searching around, she saw a bunch of kissy cuddly couples. Not ideal for her energy sources. But with all the love in the air? She wouldn't find it too hard to get close enough to someone to sap just a teeny bit of energy.

The twelve year old was only young, but that wouldn't stop her from enjoying her time on the cruise, as much as she didn't want to.

The idea of dating was overall very new to Roland, the mage clans normally had traditional corting and often arranged marriages. So he came to the cruise a bit uncertain what would happen.

He knew Nova and him weren't a couple, they barely knew each other, but she had been the first person he had met here, and considered her a friend.

He quickly unpacked his things and changed into his bathing suit, simple black shorts, leaving his shirt on the bed. Because of the mage wars on Avalon he had been trained to fight, his body was muscular, but he was scarrd frim combat, the most prominent one being one across his ribs from a sword, with some smaller ones scattered around.

He stepped out of his room, he didn't see Nova anywhere. So, he headed for the pool and smiled as he saw here, "it's good to see you again," he was a bit uncomfortable with his scars showing but he pushed this into the back of his mind and slipped into the pool.

Nova
Hearing a familiar accent behind her, Nova spun around to see Roland sliding into the pool where she stood. He looked... Impressive. His muscles were more defined than hers, but it was the scars her eyes were drawn to in curiosity. About to say something, she realised how uncomfortable she would feel if he was to comment on her green skin. That helped her refrain from asking too many questions.

She gave him a friendly embrace in greeting, which she was unaware was probably an indicator of more than just friendship when in bathing suits on a so-called 'Love Cruise.' It was the first contact they had made since he kissed her hand upon meeting each other, but it was natural. At least it was for her.

What made the whole situation less natural was the fact that the two of them were certainly not a couple. Sure, she liked Roland, but maybe not in that way. They just met a week ago! And even that was a strange encounter, what with the fire, that she had not quite forgiven him for. She was unsure if she even wanted him there! "It i- It's good to see you too," she said, a hint of distance in her voice.

Maybe she just wanted to see how the cruise went, explore the possibilities that came with it and see where it led them. If that was to friendship, so be it. If it was to love, the ship did as it was supposed to. But if it led to hate, the whole thing would be a massive waste of time.

Nova was in her element in the water, but was uncertain that Roland was in his. "Can you swim?" she asked, a smile creeping onto her face. No matter her emotions, she was going to have a good time, she would make sure of it.

He hugged her back, it wasn't the usual form of greeting he was used to, but he kept in mind that she was from a different culture.

Roland knew she was still upset over the fire, he was used to being around mages with similar abilities, he didn't understand her anger.

He grinned, "of course I can," he dived in, swimming under the surface a ways before surfacing. "I lived on an island, grew up surrounded by water, learning how to swim was basically a necessity," he swam back to her and splashed her a little, "I love the water."

Nova
It was not the fact that Roland was capable of a fire spell that made her remain annoyed, it was the fact that he had the nerve to show it off in a hallway of students, and the fact that he likely was not aware of how bad the consequences could have been. She had cooled down quickly over the issue, and the reason she dwelled on it was because of the character it revealed. She could not care less if Roland could do some sort of amazing trick. She cared if he was a good person and if he could have fun without getting himself into trouble.

Unsure why she was particularly surprised at how well Roland swam, which was very well for a human (of course she knew she was better) she was pleased to know. "You grew up near water, did you?" she asked, rhetorically of course. "I suppose you did no- didn't live above water, did you?" The comment was less gloating and more a playful jab. Smiling as the water washed over her but not bothering to close her eyes, hold her breath or duck, she said,

"Great! But the history remains history today. We are going to have more fun than anyone else on this cruise ship, starting now." She lifted herself out of the pool and walked over to one of the slides. Grabbing onto the ladder, she called back to Roland, "You coming?"

In truth he was a bit upset with her, she had acted like he was irresponsible because of his tiny flame, as if he didn't understand it's dangers despit she herself knowing nothing of magic.

Roland grinned, "ah you can breathe underwater, a useful talent." There were spells thst could allow water-breathing, but being born with it was amazing in Roland's eyes.

He chuckled and fllowed her out of the pool and to the slide, "yes, lets make sure that we enjoy ourselves."

Elizabeth stood outside by the large oak tree on the far side of the lake. It was where she had planned to meet Soren. He said he had his own way of getting them there and while Elizabeth couldn't figure out what he meant, she trusted him. She'd arrived a little early, just in case he did. It was rather new for Elizabeth, being invited to places, and she wasn't entirely sure what to do or how to act. She guessed just be yourself but when you were in control over everything, emotions, personality... Well it became difficult to know exactly who you were. She checked her watch, still a minute to go and yet she couldn't help but think she'd gotten the place or the time or something wrong even though she knew that was almost impossible for her. She looked around again, fidgeting.

Soren Haine flew above, his angel wings taking toward his destination. He hadn't expected to be going to the cruise with someone, yet here he was on his way to meet someone.

He landes in front of her, a smile on his face, "hope you don't mind heights." He adjusted the duffle bag on his shoulder, it held his clothes and a few surprise items, "I'll fly us straight there."

Elizabeth saw Soren from a little distance away, flying towards her. When he landed in front of her she greeted him with a smile, "Hi Soren, you ready to go?"
It was a bit of a silly question really, he had a duffle bag on (which she assumed contained clothes) and so did she. They were quite clearly ready to go otherwise they wouldn't be here. All this intelligence, she thought, and you cant even think of an intelligent conversation. She zoned back in from her self criticism to hear him ask if she was okay with heights. Ah. Now she knew how they were getting there, he was going to fly them.
Elizabeth paused for a moment, unsure what to do. She could hardly get on his back, the duffle bag was in the way. "Umm, how are we... what... how is this going to work exactly?"
