Appearance Description: Lilik stands at an unimpressive five foot, five inches. She has a muscular build, and no real curves to speak of. Her black hair falls to her shoulder blades, cut unevenly, as she tends to it herself. As she also trims her own bangs, they hang ragged as well. Her face is heart shaped, with high, slashing cheekbones. There is a slight cleft in her chin, and a pin-point dimple on the right side, when someone convinces her to smile. Her lips are on the thin side, giving the impression of an eternal sneer. Her red eyes are typically the first thing that people notice about her.
Personality Description: Lilik is a woman on a mission. She is determined to grow stronger at all costs, and will do just about anything to accomplish her goal. She can come across as heartless, but only because she has a tendency to misread social situations - interactions with others are not her forte. Despite this, she is fiercely loyal. In fact, it is her loyalty and need to protect others that has her on this path. Of course, she would never be able to explain this to someone else.
Active Abilities:
- Cloak: Lilik is able to draw the darkness around her, shielding her from view. She is entirely invisible, unless the person looking at her has an ability to see through cloaking spells. This only works when there are shadows available, so trying to cloak herself in a sunny meadow would be ineffective. She can also cloak up to three companions, though the thinner she spreads the cloak, the less effective it is. If spread too thin, the image becomes hazy, rather than a complete cloaking (think invisibility in the movie Predator).
- Shadow Puppets: Lilik can summon one shadow puppet. It can act offensively or defensively, though it is fairly weak (approximately the strength of an average, unskilled human). Most often, she uses it as a distraction. Her shadow puppet last until a) she dispels it, b) its health is depleted, c) her concentration is broken, or d) five minutes have passed.
Passive Abilities:
- Improved Night Vision: Though far from seeing in the dark, Lilik is able to navigate about twice as well as the average human.
- Improved Stamina at Night: Energized by the darkness and the shadows that surround her, Lilik is able to move for a longer duration without getting winded at night.
Weaknesses: Lilik is rendered nearly powerless when exposed to direct sunlight. Though the light does not hurt her, she prefers the darkness and the shadows, where her powers are more readily accessible.
Common Magical Items: Simple Language Charm (English), worn on a chain around her neck.
Biography: Just over twenty years ago, the god Erebus met with a young woman named Lilianne. Unwilling to believe the identity of the father, Lilianne was scorned by her community for having a child out of wedlock. Too embarrassed, and worried how the child would threaten her future prospects, Lilianne arranged for the child to be transported one hundred miles away, and left with an older couple who had been unable to have children of their own. Despite the unusual backstory, Lilik had a fantastic childhood. Her mother and father treated her well, and she loved them dearly. Though she seemed happiest at night, her adoptive parents certainly did not consider it the manifestation of magical powers. She was also never afraid of the dark.
Unfortunately, tragedy struck again just weeks after Lilik turned eighteen. Bandits attacked her small town, and both of her parents were slain. In an effort to protect herself, Lilik subconsciously conjured a cloak of darkness, and shielded herself from view. Though she was not killed, she was forced to play witness to the entire thing, and has been racked with violent survivor's guilt ever since.
Haunted by her inaction, but unsure of where else to go, Lilik retreated to a larger city. She held odd jobs, but was never able to summon any sort of magic again. It was not until the desperate desire for revenge finally won her over that her powers began to surface. Lilik has finally traveled to the island, and enrolled at Starlight Academy with the hopes of growing more powerful, and ridding the planet of the bandits that brought her such anguish.
Resources: Lilik has access to very few resources, having been on her own for the past couple years. She held odd jobs, and tried to make her way in the world, before the need for vengeance finally dug in. She is attending school with a short resume, and a small stash of money.
