Adelene had covered her mouth right after hearing Leon laugh. She felt her lips twitch on the side. Not... Not good. Was it that funny? "I've tried helping an acquaintance to practice baseball. I held the bat. It was heavy, and even though it's not really a weapon, just a normal baseball swing to the head will smash a person's skull. Maybe even send the... brain... flying into tiny pieces..." The last part, about the brain, she only muttered it to herself. She had that violent and morbid side, because of her years of suffering before coming to this island, and she wasn't really hiding it, but Leon did not seem like a person who welcomed such morbid mental images, so out of consideration, she decided not to say it out loud.

And then she snapped out of her thoughts, realizing that Leon was kinda... ranting. She looked up at him again, feeling surprisingly... concerned. After all, she wasn't stone-hearted. Even though the male tried to hide it, she saw that split-second frown.

She was too short to pat Leon on the head, so instead, she gave him a pat on the shoulder. "I understand," she said. And she meant it. Because she, too, was pressured because of her abilities, though in a different sense. Because of this power, her parents were killed.

"Just don't let it get to you. Even if they pressure you, something like dedicating your life is a decision you have to make yourself. Nothing good will come of it if you let yourself be influenced by others. It has to be from the heart, and you have to fully accept and love what you're doing. I'm guessing you already know that, but I'm just saying, I agree. And whether your parents see it or not, at least... I do. We're so similar, and in more ways than one already. And to think, we only just met. At least you still have your parents."

And then there it was. Her smile. And more than that, she even laughed, but it was a soft one. There was a trace of sadness, but she did this mainly to return the light aura around them. Being happy for a moment wouldn't hurt, she thought. She tried to feel that way, to simply keep on enjoying this.

"Yeah... we're pretty similar. I even get tired when I summon multiple weapons too. I can only summon until two small weapons at a time..." And so she went on with their lighter topic.

"Makes sense. Sorry if that bothered you a bit but when you list it up there with daggers, guns, and explosives it can make a person look at it weird. You are right though, it can be a pretty effective weapon if someone needs to improvise or something."

Seeing Adelene cover her mouth made Leon laugh a little more. Was she trying to hide that smile from him? This was too adorable to him. Was she really not used to having someone talk to her like this and such? A pat on the shoulder broke him from his own thoughts.

"Good to know. Not as easy to fall in love as people might think. Damn you TV and movies," Leon yelled out shaking fist at the sky with a sarcastic tone of voice. Well he tried to be funny about it but the point was that it was true. Most of the time you didn't just find "the one" just by magically running into them. He also had tried to brush off the parents comment, but he felt like even if he said something he would be prying into too much.

"I-Hey! There is it! Adelene have you ever been told you have an adorable laugh? If I was the more 'touchy-feely' type like some of the girls I'm nice to I would give you a hug for being so adorable. Instead I'll simply do this."

Leon placed his own hand on Adelene's shoulder and smiled wide. He knew he would see it again. He even got a laugh this time as well! He agreed with Adelene's observation about the two being similar. There were things that he hadn't even mentioned that made them more similar, which the case was more then likely the same with her. As she talked about them both having the same problem Leon's hand returned to his pocket.

"That's still a pretty nifty talent. While i'm stuck to swords, I have many of them and learn new ones quickly. If you learn how to use it you can make it. Pretty similar if you look at it from the side rather then pick apart the differences. Hmm I wonder...."

Leon held out his left hand this time and began to think about what he saw Adelene do when she summoned the handgun earlier. Maybe he could make something similar with it. A black sheath began to form in his hand as he focused on the blade being made. Leon stopped walking to focus more on making a new sword. His eyes narrowed as a shape began to form where the hilt of the sword would be. A handle followed not long after. Compared to a normal sword, however, both the hilt and handle were different in the manner they looked like a handgun's grip. unsheathing the sword at first it looked like a normal longsword but as the blade came out more it took on the features of a sort of gunblade. It was wider then the sword he summoned earlier to compensate for the mechanisms involved with a handgun. A trigger could be seen on the handle as well. the blade itself had a pattern similar to the black-crystal dust swirling about as if forming the blade. A small burst of wind appeared from the sword as it finished taking form.

Taking hold of the handle, Leon's fingers rest on the grip naturally as he pointed it out towards the lake. His little experiment paid off, seems he could copy things like a handgun and imbue them into his swords if he wanted to. Leon pulled the trigger and fired off over the lake as the sound of a gunshot rang out as a "bullet" fired out. Leon looked noticeably tired from the single shot. He put it to making a new sword and the bullets being basically magic themselves.

"Well look at that. Wanted to check something and it turned out to be right. I've seen handguns before but the main difference is that they were actual weapons, not made by the ability of someone else. Ya know what? I think I can say without any doubt that here's a token to the start of a fun and lovely friendship, wouldn't you agree?"

Leon let his new gunblade rest along the back of his shoulders as he smiled at Adelene. Not often could he say that he made a sword to mimic a specific person just to test someone. Most of the time they had to be, well, useful and give him an edge. The gunblade wasn't much different then his normal swords expect it had the ranged aspect that wasn't any kind of element. He figured he could come up with some new tricks with it later.

Adelene's smile lingered for a few seconds. She even found Leon's joke to be quite funny. But her smile faded away once more, as she watched Leon summon another sword.

Her eyes widened again, not because she was amazed, but because she was shocked this time. She didn't know there were people who could do that, but then again she was surrounded with all kinds of special people. She wasn't alarmed, she was just... anxious.

She was scared. Seeing someone copy her weapon put her on edge, even though she tried to convince herself that she had nothing to worry about. Starlight was a peaceful place. No need to be so paranoid.

"That's a powerful ability," she said, her voice soft as she turned away and stared ahead, and let herself make another smile. A very small one.

Friendship, huh? She couldn't deny it, she wanted a friend. One she could trust fully. With this in mind, she silently observed Leon, weighing his attitude for a bit. "I don't mind being friends," she said. She tried hard to believe that Leon's kindness was real. "Is it okay to ask something, though? I can believe that you're a good person, right? We're similar... so I can trust you, right?"

Stabbing the sword into the ground Leon watched as Adelene's eyes widen. Shit did he mess up by doing that? Or was she just surprised? He was surprised himself at being able to do so but it was an ability and he could mimic those to a degree.

As she turned around Leon scratched the back of his head and let out a small sigh. Maybe he did overdo it. Maybe he was pushing a little too hard but he didn't like it when someone wasn't smiling. Especially a smile that was as beautiful as her's. Then she spoke. A smile quickly came across his face.

"I get told I'm a good person and perhaps too kind at times. But one thing I can promise you is that I'm not faking any of it. I'm kind to people because I truly care and want to see a smile. Maybe one day I would find someone who could return the favor, it's possible that's what I'm looking for."

Leaning back off the sword he makes it disappear as he approaches Adelene and holds out his hand, his smile and eyes telling her all she needed to know. He was the genuine thing, not someone just trying to pull a fast one on her.

"And as for trust...How about this. It means a lot to me so I think letting you have it would be the best sign I could give."

Leon reaches up and grabs his goggles, pulling out the strap and handing it over to Adelene, the smile on his face bigger than before. It looked like like a normal rubber strap but there was something Leon kept to himself most of the time.

"This is something I actually made myself. One of the few things I could craft and that has withstood the things I do so I keep it as my goggle straps. It started out as a weird necklace for my mother but I ended up doing something else. People didn't think I could finish it because of how I am but here it is. Nothing special, but it means something to me that I don't know if anyone else would be able to understand."

Adelene had not even a single idea about how to read through what Leon was doing. She turned to him again and eyed those goggles while listening to its back story. Really was it so important for Leon to cheer her up? Was giving her something that important worth it?

Slowly, she reached out to take the goggles from its owner, handling it with care as she curiously scanned it. Even though Leon told her it looked simple, she could actually see how it really was made by him, and she could see how Leon gave it its good quality.

That was too much. Giving her this was too much to do. They were strangers, so what was the big deal?

She looked into Leon's eyes, disbelief across her face. "You're being unreasonable. Why would you give something so important to someone you just met?" she asked, before giving the goggles another hard stare. "If it's proof of your hard work, talent, and care, why..?"

At the back of her mind, something seemed to have sparked. She realized, if it were her who wanted to earn someone's trust, she was probably going to do everything she can as well. She loved helping others, only because she knew it was the right thing to do and that gave her satisfaction. Maybe Leon was like that? Maybe... just maybe, they were similar even in that aspect? Weird. Really weird.

But if they really were similar, then accepting it would give Leon satisfaction, and that would mean that she's also given him her trust. All right. With a small nod, she decided to accept it. "Thank you."

She took a deep breath and, keeping the goggles safe in her right hand, her left one moved to tug on Leon's sleeve. "Um... don't you think we should rest for a while? You exhausted yourself just now," she said. Concern dominated her tone.

Suddenly, she sat down on the ground, pulling Leon down with her. She's insisted for them to rest. Good thing was, that part beside the lake had smooth surface. She couldn't look at him, she realized, as she stared into the lake. But her left hand remained on Leon's sleeve. Her face was slightly flushed; she was still really awed by how Leon decided to give the goggles to her.

"I'll keep this for now, if you really want that," she muttered. "But I'll return it if needed, or if you want it back."

All Leon could do was smile. A million things must have been running through Adelene's mind after he handed over his goggles to her. It was clear in how she spoke and how she was reacting with her body. Leon smiled more after hearing a simple phrase that held more weight then Adelene could understand in Leon's mind. It was something he rarely heard genuinely and mostly came from people just being polite. It was all he really ever asked for. A simple Thank You did wonders for people, more then most would believe.

Feeling the tug on his sleeve and a sudden force Leon almost went face first until he regained his balance and sat down with Adelene, adjusting himself so he didn't sit awkwardly with her pulling him down. Well he was a little out of breath and needed a break. Might as well do it with his new friend.

As they sat Leon saw that Adelene's hand never left his sleeve. Even he had to raise an eyebrow to this for a moment. After sitting down he figured she would have let go but strangely she hadn't. Maybe something else was going on in her mind over it. He was about to ask when his eyebrow lowered and he kept on smiling. There was no reason to do so. If she wanted to hang on he'd let her. Who knows he might even do the same. A true friend was always wonderful to have.

"Have to admit this really was an eventful jog. Made a new friend, saw a beautiful girl's smile, and made a new sword as a token of our friendship. Well, also handing over my goggles. Know what though? I don't regret that last part. Say I wonder, how do you look with them on? I could make you your own pair too if you want. Orange doesn't really fit you I think. Maybe a white pair? Or black? Something to accent your hair so I think white or another bright color would work better. What do you think?"

It wasn't that Leon was trying to get his goggles back, but because of how much time he had to spend catering to the needs of girls who were high on the fashion spectrum he knew a bit about clashing colors, what didn't look well on people, and what would accent their features more.

"Maybe...Yeah. White would even accent your eyes too, or a shade of red. Could even make multiple pairs too of different colors to accent more...Yeah."

Adelene let go after a few moments, when she decided to try wearing the goggles on her eyes. She was also embarrassed by Leon who kept on telling her that she was beautiful, so the goggles were a perfect excuse to hide her face.

"White sounds nice," she said as she fixed the goggles on her. She made sure to be careful. She didn't want to break it or throw it in the lake by accident, she was sure that would break Leon's heart.

"So, how does it look like?" she turned to face Leon. Even though she knew that the guy probably wanted to see the goggles on her hair, she didn't really fix it off of her eyes. She looked weird with them on, but of course that was because the goggles weren't hers in the first place. With her height, or lack of it, she looked even stranger. The goggles were too big for the frame of her head and face.

And she knew all that. She laughed, before deciding to take it off. "I must have looked like a big-eyed insect somehow. Weird. These goggles are beautiful though. And they really feel comfortable on the head. That's great craftsmanship you have."

Leon watched as Adelene put the goggles on. He tried to hold in his laughter. Maybe adjusting the straps would have been a good idea so she could wear them better. Then again this was an adorable sight to behold so maybe it was better to do it like this.

"How does it look? Adorable. Really adorable. And yeah I was right, orange really doesn't look good, so I'll get started and have a white pair the next time we hang out."

And then he lost it. Leon started laughing at the big-eyed insect remark and now pictured Adelene looking like a bug. Looking at her once more Leon continued to laugh and smile.

"Thanks. Took a while to make. And aches. Working with stuff so small and delicate is no joke. And I'll be working on a smaller pair for a smaller head. The reward at the end will be perfect though. Seeing them on your head would be the best reward I could ask for.... Say. Maybe tomorrow you want to hang out more? I think it would be cool to hang out in a place that isn't so random. Well, this is nice though. Private, secluded, and beautiful scenery to look at together and without the worry of people perhaps getting the wrong idea. I mean wouldn't bother me but I don't know how you'd feel about it. Kinda used to hearing them when I''m being nice to other girls and taking them on dates and such. Or hearing far worse things."

Scratching his head, Leon thinks about some of the things he has heard people say about him. Then again it didn't matter as he knew who he was, they didn't. Then again maybe that's aprt of the reason why he couldn't really find someone because he was so busy making others happy and not thinking about himself.

"Or we could just train. Considering how we both are, I think that'd be a suitable way for us to hang out."

Adelene felt light hearing Leon laugh. Even though she was absolutely embarrassed, being called adorable and all that, she still felt like she was having fun. Right. She couldn't believe it was this easy to enjoy once she's dropped her guard.

"No need for me to hold on to this then," she said, holding out Leon's goggles to him. Her smile was much wider than before. It felt really nice to be laughing with someone. With her new friend. "And having a pair of my own, made by you, would be a lot better I guess."

She listened to what Leon had to say and realized that it wasn't so surprising that people would misunderstand his kindness to people. So Leon was the type to spoil people so much they'd think he's up to something else, she thought. At least she understands. At least he's already cleared that even before she becomes too attached to him. At least she won't be stupid enough to risk anything in the future.

She gave him a light pat on the back. "I don't really mind about what people have to say. It would be a shame if they're a reason we can't hang out some place else. I'm fine with anything, really. I guess... that's because I'm not really good at things like this yet. I'm usually alone, I already told you that."

She heaved a sigh and hugged her knees as she stared off to the lake once more. She didn't mind training with Leon either, but she did not exactly know how. "If we're going to train, what kind of training do you want? We could run around or spar or... I also want to improve my dagger skills... I'm really fine with anything." She chuckled. She just realized, there were many things she wanted to try with a friend. Just like this one. "And then maybe we could have lunch together?"

Leon was surprised when she handed back his goggles. He reached for them but his hand snapped back at first. Then he grabbed them and placed them back on top of his head. Leon couldn't help but feel light headed a bit after seeing Adelene's smile grow larger. Well that was a new feeling but he didn't know why. He made girls smile a lot and it was rather strange. Maybe he was just exhausted was all.

"It would be. They'd fit and it would be so awkward and make you look like a bug," Leon started chuckling a bit at the joke. Feeling a pat on the back and the comforting words coming from Adelene, he felt better about it. Means both of them could care less what others thought.

"Well we have to start somewhere. As my father once told me, 'No one can live alone.' Even if you try to and seemingly succeed, you still need that interaction with someone close to get that feeling of... What is a good word...."

While thinking of how to respond, he watched Adelene curl into a ball and stare off into the lake. This was weird to him. He was used to sitting around, talking, and making people feel better and smile. But this was different and he felt strange. He had a few ideas but for now that's what they were, ideas.

"If you want to improve your daggers then you found the right person to spar with. Remember I use swords, so a close range sparring match would be enjoyable. And with you being able to use guns I could also work at dealing with ranged attacks. I'm sure we can think of something to do."

At the mention of lunch Leon looked from the lake, to the sky, then back to Adelene after a few pauses with each. A big grin formed on his face at this point as there was no way he was going to deny himself with a chance like this.

"We'd be working up quite the appetite so lunch sounds like a perfect idea. But instead of going somewhere like a cafe, how about I cook us lunch? I'm sure we can use one of the cooking classrooms or even get the cafeteria to allow us to cook. We can still go out to lunch I have no problem with that either. I just can't pass over a chance to let someone new try my cooking."
