Bummed. Adelene was absolutely bummed and bored and has been for the entire day already. She only had two classes today, and both cancelled today's meeting. Which meant she was free the whole day.

She had already gone to the city to buy some groceries, mostly instant Korean noodles, the spicy ones. She also went to a ramen house for lunch. After that, she went back to school, and went straight where she was now, where she always was. By the lake. In an area near the forest, where not many people go to. The trees and bushes behind her were much thicker than the ones near the school.

But instead of training today, she was just there, seated beside the lake, looking at her own reflection. People occasionally swim in these waters but she's never even interacted with one. The idea pulled her down even more, but then again, it was her fault, she caused her own misery in being alone all the time.

Because she was afraid to trust people. And to be betrayed by them again. No matter how kind a person was to her, nobody has ever been worthy to have her trust, because the nicest person she's met in her life was also the person who took everything away from her.

Another day, another jog. Another view of the lake. A normal day for Leon when he didn't have classes in the morning. Waking up each day just to simply run around and exercise was one thing that could always be counted on from him. Just today his route happened to take him around the lake. One thing he loved about his lake route is the amount of people who knew about this area was rather low. Meant he could run without having to stop and chat with people while jogging and could continue.

Well that thought went out the window and he was surprised. Pulling his goggles above his eyes and resting them on his forehead Leon begins to slow his jog as he notices a girl sitting near the lake alone. Well this was odd. What was a girl sitting out here all alone for? This thought alone caused Leon to start walking over to the lonesome girl.

Leon got close to the girl and put on his the same smile he gave everyone. One of warmth, kindness, and gentleness. He didn't want to startle the girl so Leon simply walked a couple feet from where the girl was standing and stared out at the lake himself. He looked over at the girl and tried to think of a good compliment to help start things off. Was something he generally did.

"What's a beautiful girl like you sitting out here all on their own? Enjoying the scenery? Personally I enjoy the way the sun reflects off the lake this time of day, makes for a beautiful sight."

His voice carried the tone of a gentlemen, kindness, and a hint of worry with the worry mostly aimed at the girl being out here on her own. Leon knew there are people who would take advantage of a lonesome girl and he was one who wouldn't. Leon was more likely to make a person take a swim if they were trying to do something like that.

"Where are my manners. Name's Leon. And sorry if I'm bothering you. I jog this route about once a week since I rarely see anyone so I don't have to stop and talk with people trying to get my attention for one thing or another. Was surprised to see someone sitting out here is all."

Adelene wasn't surprised by someone else's presence this time. She already sensed him while he approached, and even though she did not sense any hostility around him, she still obviously tensed up. Especially when the male started to speak.

"I train with my guns around this area. Sometimes I go into the forest too," she replied, not turning around or moving from her spot just yet. Her voice, unlike that of the male, wasn't too gentle and was instead aloof. Unless people catch her in the middle of training, she wouldn't be in very high or cheerful spirits. "Shocking, I've never seen you before either."

That was when she stood up. Her eyes scanned the farther parts of the lake, and found herself agreeing that the sun's reflection on it really was beautiful. She can't help but let a very faint smile pass her lips. But only for a moment.

She turned around. And in just one second, her mood seemed to have changed entirely. Her eyes widened at seeing the male. Perhaps it was the sunlight, but she's never seem someone with such gentle eyes before. Not since her parents died, at least. And that had an impact on her.

"You... Um... I'm Adelene," she muttered loud enough for Leon to hear her. Those gentle eyes struck her still, even after a few more seconds. "If you didn't want your jogging interrupted, you shouldn't have stopped to talk to me, right? Nothing to see here anyway..."

"Gun training? Hmm...Well everyone has their own method of training I suppose. Funny how we're opposites in that regard. I train with my swordplay but my partner is busy today so my jogging is keeping me busy. And I suppose we might just miss each other. Normally I'd be through here an hour later then now but today I've been at a faster pace."

The girls tone spoke volumes to Leon. Something told him there was something else bothering the girl but he didn't want to pry. After all they just met and he wasn't the type to pry into a person's personal life. He was there to simply listen and smile, comfort people when needed. In this case he couldn't tell if that's what the girl needed.

Leon gazed back out at the lake as the girl stood up, turning back towards her and saw a brief smile on her face before suddenly it seemed like something changed in the girl. She looked happier then she had sounded a few seconds ago. Was it something he said? Or just his smile again? Turning fully towards the girl Leon bowed whens he said her name.

"Charmed to meet you Adelene. And there is a difference between being interrupted by others and interrupting yourself. I saw you sitting here alone and wondered if you wanted company. And besides, there are two things here that are lovely to see. The sunlight against the lake is only one of them."

Leon stopped for a moment and looked at Adelene. He wasn't lying when he said the girl was beautiful. It was just out of habit to give everyone he met a compliment and a true compliment at that. It was just his nature to be nice to everyone. Leon walked around till the sunlight and the reflecting light was behind Adelene, making it seem as if the girl was making the shine herself.

"The other is you. I know we just met Adelene, but I'm not lying when I say you're beautiful. With that light behind you it makes you look even more so. So come on, can I see a smile on that pretty little head of yours? It looks cute when I caught the glimpse earlier. Suits you better then a frown."

What was this guy saying?? Adelene was instantly flustered, feeling her heart skip a beat because of that weird complement, and felt her face burned just a little. "Wha... What are you talking about?? Is it normal for you to blabber about stuff like that about someone you just met??" Her voice was just a bit louder, because, she felt bothered. Being called beautiful by a stranger, and another beautiful person too at that, was a bit too surprising to bear. And beautiful people can be cunning sometimes too.

She averted her gaze, but she was frozen still where she was. She couldn't run away even though her mind was already screaming at her to do so. What was worse was that she couldn't help but feel curious about this guy. This Leon. This beautiful person. Especially since what she needed most right now was someone else's company. A friend. Someone she could trust. But she was hesitating about that at the same time.

"I'll smile when I want. There's no way it would look nice if I force it anyway," she said, her voice returning to its softer volume. Her cheeks were still a bit flushed, but she had the light and reflections in the water to probably mask that.

"If you want to see a beautiful person smile... You can... always just look into a mirror." She paused, regretting what she just said immediately. "Leon, right? What else do you want? I can't give you a smile."

"Honestly yes. Yes it is. Everyone deserves a compliment or two. Makes them feel better about themselves and look at things differently. Even with that said, I mean every ounce of what I say when I give someone a compliment. There is few that is more important then speaking the truth about such things."

Seeing Adelene so flustered Leon wondered if she was alright? Well a lot of girl, and some guys, got like this whenever he gave them a compliment so maybe that was it. Maybe it was just too much at once for her to handle after feeling down or something? Was he too forward? He couldn't tell but he did think that Adelene wasn't used to being called beautiful.

"Well you are right on that. A forced smile is nothing special and means nothing. And thank you for the compliment, but seeing my own smile isn't exactly the same as seeing another smile. If that makes sense."

Adelene looked uncomfortable after what she said and that made Leon wonder about her more. Was she alright? Something told Leon that maybe he was being too forward. He didn't know how else to respond to her...Well till one thing came to mind.

"Well...If you won't smile then I guess I need to find a way to get that smile back. You did say that training puts you into high spirits but I don't know if that's something I'd feel comfortable with. How about....Want to go for a walk? Get to know each other a bit? Whatever you want to do I'll join you for it."

Leon gave her a gentle smile, his right hand on his waist and his left arm just hanging there. He wanted to reassure Adelene about herself but didn't exactly know about going about it. Maybe something simple would do. Or something not so simple. He'd find a way that's for sure.

"You're weird," Adelene said with a straight face. But when she did, she didn't mean it in a bad way. Actually, she liked it. But she was still pretty aloof. She didn't understand him, because what kind of person in his or her right mind would be THIS friendly to a stranger? She didn't feel like Leon was hitting on her, which was even weirder, and all of a sudden, she didn't mind his company.

"A walk sounds nice. I've been so bored the whole day," she said. She started to walk towards Leon's original direction before he'd stopped jogging, so he could just join her. She was still a bit uncomfortable, but that wasn't surprising because she's always been alone, except when she attended her classes.

That gave her an idea for keeping the conversation alive. She didn't want any awkward silence, after all. "By the way, what do you do? Are you also a student?" she asked him.

"I'll take that as compliment. Now let's go shall we?"

As Adelene started to walk off Leon put his hands in his pocket and followed after her., slowing down his pace to keep with hers. Her body language still told him that she wasn't exactly comfortable with someone around her. He'd have to, at the very least, make it feel like she could be herself around him.

"Yeah I'm a student. Though I'm more interested in becoming a teacher at Starlight then pursuing anything in general. Helping people out and making their day better. I know most students don't like going to class or certain teachers. I want to be the one whose class they can't wait to head to each day."

He had high hopes for himself in that regard. While what he would teach was still up in the air, he knew it was something he would enjoy doing. Given his physical background he would be better suited to helping people train their powers and weapon combat. Which caused him to look at Adelene.

"Outside of that I train or exercise. Normally I have my dog Rex with me but he decided to be lazy today so I gave him a scratch behind the ear and a treat before leaving. Speaking of training you mentioned that you train your guns. Did you mean with guns? Or did you mean something similar to this?"

While they were walking Leon held his left hand out as a white sheath appeared in his hand, the handle of a sword sticking out the top of it. His posture and body language along with his tone suggested nothing but a simple demonstration for his question. He didn't see any guns so figured Adelene summoned them in a manner similar to his swords. Within an instant the sword disappeared and his hand returned to his pocket.

"Just one of a handful, but I always find the original to be my favorite, ya know?"

Adelene found herself watching Leon through the corners of her eyes. She had no reason to smile just yet, but listening to the male, it was as if she felt something tug on her chest and take away its heaviness.

"I look forward to all my classes, especially Physics," she'd said. Watching him even more, she turned to him a little, catching those gentle eyes and that gentle smile again. Somehow, it seemed that Leon was really suited to become a teacher. And lots of students would adore him for his looks and personality, and they would surely look forward to his class. "I'm sure it would go that way if you do decide to be a teacher in the future."

Adelene observed him curiously. She was pretty surprised, seeing Leon summon a weapon similar to how she does it. Her eyes widened in awe, as if she was just about to make a big smile and clap her hands together in amazement, but that last part didn't really happen.

"A-Amazing..." she muttered, staring at Leon's hand for a moment before he put it back in his pocket. After that, she looked at him in the eyes again. "Mm, mine's just like that, too, um..." She held out her hand and stared at it, as black crystal dust materialized in the air surrounding it, and took a pistol's form. She held the gun with a firmly careful grip, before looking at Leon again, showing the gun to him. "...like this."

And then the gun disappeared just as how it appeared, through black crystal dust and disappearing in thin air. For the moment, she had her guard down, and she was suddenly at absolute ease, not realizing she was already giving Leon too much information about herself. But the reason she didn't realize at all was that she also realized that her and his abilities were the same, and that meant that she did not have to worry about being fooled.

"I can summon any kind of weapon as long as I know how to use it. But so far, I can only summon a few types of guns, some explosives, and daggers. Oh, and a metal baseball bat."

She was, ever so suddenly, enjoying the conversation.

"You think so? That's awesome to hear from someone. Most people expect me to find some kind of job like my parents or work with them. Don't get me wrong I enjoy working with both in my off time, just want to find what I enjoy more."

Leon watched as Adelene's eyes widened at the sight of his sword, but alas nothing more then that. He kept his smile on, still attempting to find a way to get that beautiful smile once more. Leon watched as a black-like dust appeared and began to form a handgun in her hand. So that explains it, her powers were similar to his own.

"Any kind long as you can use it? Wow that's far more nifty then what I can do. I just have a bunch of swords I can make, each with a different magical property. It seems I can learn how to make new swords from simple observation, a trait I picked up from my mother. She's a sorceress and has the ability to learn new spells simply from observing them once, so that's where most think I got the ability....Wait a second."

Leon suddenly looked at Adelene and made a puzzle look with his eyes. Well that was rather unique and funny at the same time. A metal bat? The look vanished as he began to laugh a bit.

"A metal baseball bat? Sorry not trying to sound rude or anything but that's pretty funny considering what else you listed. Oh man. Well, it is nice to meet someone who has something similar. Most people here can find at least one or two other people with powers similar at Starlight. Besides my father, whose a magic knight, I didn't know of anyone who could. Though he does believe my ability will surpass his eventually."

Leon looked up at the sky for a moment before his attention returned to Adelene. It was nice to be able to talk to someone about such random things. Most of the time he had to know the latest fashion, the popularity of people, etc. Things he really didn't care about. He wanted to just sit around and talk with people about, well, random things like he was with Adelene. It started out as just compliments that turned into a shared ability they both had. The biggest smile formed on Leon's face as he thought of all this.

"Gotta ask, are you able to form multiple weapons at once? At the moment I can only use a single sword at a time and switching between them too often exhausts me pretty quick. I wish I could....Bah wish I took after my mother over my father sometimes."

Leon's smile faded for a moment and turned into a slight irritated frown. Sometimes he did, able to learn magic with the blink of an eye rather then what he had to do for his abilities to fully form. The pressure of what he had to do got to him sometimes, but he didn't want to let Adelene see him with such a face or look so he returned to smiling.

"Sorry, didn't mean to do that. There is a single thing that bothers me about both my powers and this school. Since I take after my father in regards to a magic knight, both some of Starlight's teachers and my parents want to see the full extent of my power which only will fully bloom after I pledge myself to protecting a person. For my father it's obvious my mother is that person. So both sides have tried pressuring me into finding someone but its hard, ya know? Difficult to force yourself to like someone enough to pledge your life to protecting. Wish they'd see that."
