Let's just hope that I can have a nice day without any incidents or accidents.' Thought Savannah. The only nice person she had met was Claire, and now she hardly ever saw her. Usually one of them was asleep before the other one came in. She thought of some of the things she had learned in her classes about using her powers. She thought it would be funny to skate visible, invisible, visible invisible, first you see her then you don't! But, she decided not to do that, quite yet. She knew there was a snowball fight going on with the other students, but she didn't want to join, they were all going to dislike her anyway. That's why she had chosen this more secluded spot to skate. Maybe a nice person would come skate with her and they'd become, what was that word? Ah yes, friends! 'I don't know, all I know is that something has to go right!' She'd been doing well in her classes, but it was nice to take a break. She always enjoyed ice skating, even if she wasn't that good at it. She was a little shaky as she stepped out onto the ice,and moved forward. She wobbled a little, and started to move up and down, left and right. She needed some warm up time before she just jumped right into skating quickly.

"Alright now Savannah, steady! You just need a little more balance, pick up the pace, but not too fast!"

If anyone was around, she wasn't sure, they'd think she was crazy for talking to herself, but she needed it. It was helpful to hear the words out loud as she skated. She made a few figure eights, making sure to maintain proper posture and balance, if she was going to skate, she was going to do it right! 'Alright' she thought' pick up speed and don't-' suddenly, her skates slipped out from under her. She landed spinning on her back, sending her cowgirl hat flying. It landed about fifteen feet away. Savannah sat up and groaned. She glanced anxiously around the lake for her hat. There it was! She started to inch forward to get it hoping that no one had just seen her fall. She rubbed her back as she stood up and sighed. She skated carefully and slowly over to her hat, and picked it up. She looked angrily at the ice as she set it back on her head. She squatted down, just as she slipped and fell again. This time there was only one thing she could do-laugh. The whole situation was pretty funny, and Savannah could laugh at herself when she knew she looked ridiculous. Besides, she had skated and fallen in front of lots of people before, several times, so this wasn't too different. She placed her hands at the sides of her hat, gripping the edges and laughed. It was pretty funny!

Loch was sitting by a tree at the edge of a lake. The cold had turned his nose a little red and added a flush to his cheeks that made it look like he was blushing, but the slight tilt to his lips gave the impression that Lochlann really didn't like the cold.

He was watching the girl ice skating--or falling on the ice, really-- with a sense of wonder.

Loch had never, ever seen anyone ice skate before. In the winter, he was usually settled into the bottom of a lake, his dark coat drenched in mud while he tried to lure girls to walk on patches of thin ice where they''d break and fall into the water...and his waiting jaws. Hunting was always easier in the winter. People didn't expect to find bodies.

But now, Loch was human.

He looked around him and then, despite his better judgement, he walked towards the girl on the lake. His hands where in his coat pockets and his feet crunched gently in the snow even though he was wearing sneakers instead of boots.

"Hey there," Loch said, giving her one of his slow, rippling smiles. "That looks like fun. Even though you seem to be falling a bit...but maybe that's what makes it fun?"

Savannah's laugh was only interrupted by a gasp. She heard a voice! She looked up, as her hands slowly made their way down to rest on the ice. A guy was smiling at her and talking to her-not meanly. 'This is a first!' she thought to herself. She cleared her throat and attempted to stand up. Once she was up though, she was okay. Savannah laughed quietly at his remark. "Actually, it's more fun to stay up on the skates, and it's less painful too." She rubbed her back and winced." Have you ever ice skated before?" Savannah looked interestingly at the guy. She had to admit, he was pretty cute, but maybe a little hair needed to be trimmed. Just a little. Whenever she met some one new here, she always wondered what their power was. Usually, she didn't ask, because they'd show her, or tell her they could hear what she was saying, even though she wasn't talking. 'Reading thoughts always seemed to be a popular one, even if people can't choose their powers. Savannah had always been pretty satisfied with her powers. She'd never really told anyone, but here at the school, she could be herself, with her powers. She wanted to play a mean joke on some one, making her head invisible while the rest of her wasn't. She laughed a little at the thought. 'I'm such a creep!'

"Actually, it's more fun to stay up on the skates, and it's less painful too... Have you ever ice skated before?"

Loch shook his head, looking down at his feet for a moment before back up at her.He said, "Naw. This is...I guess you could say it's my first real winter. I mean I lived in cold places before, but my family was never really big into out door actives in the winter."

She seemed distracted for a moment and Loch took advantage of that to check her out a little, a little bit of a smile on his face as he did. He averted his eyes, almost sheepishly, before bringing his attention back to her, looking as innocent as possible.

"So this might be a little forward of me..." he started, "but if I go grab a pair of skates, do you think you could show me how to skate?"

He smiled, then laughed a little, too. "And I promise, if I fall I won't pull you down with me."

"Wow, bummer." She was kinda surprised. Never ice skated before? Well she did know some people who had never ice skated before, but it had been a while. She adjusted her hat and looked back at him. He seemed to have a meek innocent look on him. She was a little confused but just shrugged.

"But if I go grab a pair of skates, do you think you could show me how to skate?"

Savannah smiled. She was right, some one nice had come along!
"Yes, of course, but I must warn you, I'm not very good. I might be the one trying not to pull you down!" She laughed a little, and looked down, meekly. She played with the collar of her button up plaid shirt and dug the toe of the skate into the ice.

"Wow, bummer."

"You're telling me," he laughed.

This was going better than he expected. Though Loch hadn't been obviously tense, he seemed more relaxed now, his shoulders a little less rigid. He watched her adjust the hat and couldn't resist.

"You look cute in the hat," he admitted. "Although I've always had a weakness for girls who look like they can handle horses."

His tone was light, letting her take it as a compliment or a flirtation. He grinned at her again, glad the she accepted his offer to teach him something, though he was ready to acknowledge to himself that it was a little unlike him to need someone to show him something.

"I'm going to grab some skates then!" He said, taking a quick detour to one of the cabins he'd seen earlier. It took him a few minutes to remember that there was such a thing as shoe-size, then figure out what skates were in his size.

He returned a few minutes later with a pair of hockey skates under his arm. He didn't know the difference, but saw that they didn't have the toe-pick on the front. He made the assumption that there'd be less of a chance for him to impale himself on these.

"I gotta admit, I'm a little nervous," he said, plopping into the snow next to the lake. He hurried to take off his sneakers and put the skates on, lacing them up a little awkwardly. "So don't laugh at me when I make a complete idiot out of myself. Or...at least don't let me know you're laughing."

He grinned again.

"You look cute in the hat... Although I've always had a weakness for girls who look like they can handle horses."

Savannah smiled and looked at the ground for a second, feeling he face set off a rosy blush. Of course, with the light color the coldness had set on her face, there wasn't much of a difference.

"I was raised with them, their some of my best friends! It took me a while to get them to do what I say, I was only a little girl when my parents let me start helping out with around the farm. They seemed so large to me back then, they still are. Some people think they are for little kids, but they are powerful majestic animals, you know?"

Savannah watched as walked off to grab some skates. Her nose got that tingling, and her eyes started to get watery. She glanced to the lift, blinking rapidly, shooing away the tears. She skated around, practicing until he returned. She skated to the edge or the lake as he put on his skates and waited. "I promise, that I will try to do my best not to laugh", she said, smothering a smile. You'll probably do better than me, maybe with some beginners luck."

Loch paused at that and a different sort of smile would have slid onto his face, but only for a moment. Unlike his other smiles, this one would have been soft and raw, like he was showing a part of him he wasn't sure existed.

But then it'd be gone, just like that, because Loch was nothing if not charming.

"I promise, that I will try to do my best not to laugh", she said, smothering a smile. You'll probably do better than me, maybe with some beginners luck."

"Alright," Loch said, rising to his feet. "I think I got this."

He took a single step forward and his legs went in either direction, sending him crashing to the ice in an awkward split that left his left eye twitching.Ouch.

He took a minute, then pulled himself back up slowly, his face red with a combination of pain and embarrassment.

"This is harder than I thought," he admitted.

I wasn't quite sure what direction you wanted to go and I keep dying in chat. xD Would you want this to go somewhere whimsical or somewhere a little more serious?
Loch wont' eat her, I promise. xD I also saw that the character wanted to become invisible so I might have an idea--maybe he can convince her to help him prank someone? Or she can prank him. xD

Several feet away from the budding romance, Obsidian skidding along the ice casually on a comfy chair with a cup of green tea in one hand and a blank book in the other, which he read intently. As he spun round to face the students in the distance, he peered over his book with a grin.

"Young love, such a bittersweet thing~" he chuckled to himself, his deep purple eyes glinting in the soft light of the winter sun. He kicked off, letting his chair pick up some speed as he continued to read the empty novel while sipping his tea. He relished in the peaceful moments, and it's common knowledge that chair-skating was the best way to read your favorite novel on a Winter's day.

"Ooh" . Savannah bent down a little as she watched Loch fall in a split on the ice. She turned around, her face turning bright red and doubled over trying hard not to laugh. She cleared her throat and stood up trying to smother her smile.

"Yes, well that's how it was when I first got on." She patted his arm, but then pulled her hand back. She didn't want to make anything awkward. "Here, let's do it together and maybe we can help each other. She took a step forward. "So, do you like to play pranks or tricks or anything?" She hoped he did. She needed her dose of pranks, and she wanted his help. Her attention was divided slightly be a guy sitting on a chair, skating around the ice. "Interesting."
