Name: Nao Marlowe
Age: 21
Birthday: August 17
Gender: Lady
Category: Student
Class: College
Grade: Sophomore
College Major: Exploratory (No Declared Major)
Appearance Description: A mixture of East and West, Nao embodies the better traits of her mixed heritage. She stands at a tall 5'10" and boasts a solid build that is both feminine and powerful. Her most striking physical feature is probably the stark white hair... and occasional blueish glow that radiates off her body in near-total darkness.
She struggles with fashion and tends to dress practically. Most of her clothing choices come with mobility in mind rather than aestethics.
Personality Description: Nao's life experience thus far as been entirely out of her control. Or at least, that's how she sees it. When you're the most recent inheritor of an ancient pact with higher powers it tends to play a fairly demanding role in your day to day.
As a result of her otherworldly obligations she finds herself rather leery of commitment. She's known to cancel her social plans last minute and to generally be unreliable in that particular field.
That's not to say she isn't a friendly enough sort. She makes friends fairly easily and does her best to hold onto them. However, when some spirit creature or another whisks you away to fight the most recent strain of evil... well... let's just say that she's only attended a handful of parties successfully.
Generally speaking, she tries her best to remain positive and is known to mask her negative feelings with humor and really bad puns. Recently, though, she's been making attempts to be more straightforward... which can have mixed results.
A little quirk of hers is that she tends to avoid swearing. It's not out of any sense of distaste at foul language... more that she... enjoys the challenge of finding creative ways to express herself.
Powers:
Enhanced Strength: In her own words Nao is about as strong as "Four or five really ripped dudes." That is to say she boasts a strength that far exceeds her physiology. She's capable of great feats of athleticism ranging from heavy lifting, running, and jumping up to significant heights.
Enhanced Endurance: Along with her strength, Nao has a significantly enhanced threshold for pain. Her body seems capable of surviving traumas that would harm or even kill most humans.
Downsides: Nao's abilities aren't without cost. She has an overactive metabolism and typically needs to consume twice the normal amount of calories that most athletes need in a given day. It has a way of affecting one's budget.
Racial Abilities – Destined Human - Moon Born
Night Sight: Nao can see clearly even in complete darkness. Everything appear to be bathed in pale moonlight.
Evil Sense: She has a sort of internal radar that lets her detect the presence of genuinely evil, otherworldly beings. It works solely on things like undead creatures and demons. She cannot detect evil within a human.

"Is it recording? Red light means recording, right?
Oh god... how long has this been running? It's like I've just captured the past four minutes of myself just making stupid faces at the camera.
Anyway! Hello, future self, I'm Nao. Uhm... I decided a while back that I didn't really document our life all that well. Seriously, we have practically no photos of ourselves except for school pictures and the random ones taken by friends. You know, the ones that are of us making super unflattering faces. Yeah... so... uh... for posterity, I decided to start doing this whole video diary thing.
Wait, is it weird for me to speak in the 'we' sense? I mean... I'm writing this for you... myself in the future... and uh... right, we're the same person? My tenses are probably gonna be all over the place. So... deal with it, me.
But yeah, here's a recap in case you ever get hit in the head too hard and suffer from amnesia. And please, if you DO end up suffering from amnesia, please do us the favor of being nursed back to health by some really hot shirtless doctor guy. I don't think that's too much to ask.
Right! Uh... I... you.... we were born about twenty one years ago in the mid 90s. Mom is a crazy pretty Japanese ex-pat who now works in a bank. Dad is a charming Southerner who owns a company that makes... I guess truck hitches or something? I dunno... whenever he talks about it I just sort of tune it out. Either way, you... I? Whoever, grew up uh... middle class and about as normal a child as one could be.
Oh! And Mom and Dad are still super alive and super together. God knows we don't need our life story to be TOO cliche.
So, fun story! Uhm... mom came to the USA to escape her ancestry. I guess she thought that ancient pacts don't cross international boundaries? Seriously... there's some super convoluted story involving a pact between great great great great great grandpa and some kind of Japanese moon spirit. I kid you not, it's something like... every few generations a child will be born of our clan... and they'll be sort of... I guess... servant... warrior... protector things against the forces of evil?
If you weren't me right now you'd probably be thinking this sounds pretty awesome, right? Well... sorta. It's kind of a huge pain when you're trying to take a test in class... or tryin' to mack on some hottie... and suddenly you get called upon to fight whatever spookiness has manifested nearby. Seriously, there's a reason we're two years behind in school...
Uhm... so yeah... we had no idea that we'd have this destiny thrust upon us for a long time. I mean... life was normal for a while. That is, of course, until we reached age thirteen. You know... that magical year that most girls become young women. Well... for us... there was that... and the whole... hair bleaching white and sudden super strength and stuff. Dad thought it was cool, at least.
So yeah, ever since then we've kind of been at the moon spirit's beck and call. I can't say I've ever really spoken to her... it(?) directly... but she tends to speak to us through messengers... and sometimes she just.. sort of has us wander into situations through... I guess 'chance'. Like, do you remember that one time the school bus just HAPPENED to break down a block away from where a demon thingy was attacking some hapless schmuck in an alley? Yeah, real big coincidence...
That's kind of how our life has gone for the past eight years. School... the occasional job... FIGHTING THE FORCES OF EVIL! Seriously, it still amazes me that we even manage to have time for friends or... anyone really.
I guess I should be thankful that Evil tends to prefer to work at night.
Now, if we can just find ourselves a good cape. And... maybe a theme song. Oh! And a killer mask or something. Maybe ham up the whole 'moon' theme, yanno?
Maybe that's a project for you, Future-Me.
Oh! And in case you forgot. We're starting our sophomore year at Starlight Academy. You know... that one totally not Hogwarts place for totally not wizards. Here I had thought it was just me out here, but then one day yanno... you get an acceptance letter from a strange school that you've never heard of. Not like we had the grades for Harvard, right?
Still a degree is a degree, I guess.
Seriously, place is full of weirdies, but hey... whatcha gonna do?
But uh anyway... that's it for now. I've got that whole.. 'gonna go kill me some monsters' feeling.
Later!"
Additional Information:
Nao refuses to overly embrace her heritage. She prefers weapons more akin to a Scottish claymore over something more fitting to her station, like a katana.
Given her obligations, she struggles with the realization that she may very well have no free will.
