BASIC INFO
Name: RmssuNickname: Hudson Rogers
Age:
Birthday: November 17th
Gender: Male
Profession: Librarian
APPEARANCE
The vast majority of his time, Hudson can be found in his human form. It's simply more convenient, and he's gotten used to it. His human form is a broad shouldered man who looks to be in his seventies. His hair, once blonde, has turned white with age, and he takes his time styling his rather fluffy beard, which he finds to be rather amusing. He's rather muscular, and has a single vertical scar running over his right eye. He stands five feet nine inches tall. He can generally be found wearing black slacks and a collared shirt.
Hudson's true, full sized form is that of a massive dragon. He runs 130 meters from the tip of his nose to the end of his tail, and around 100 meters from his nose to the base of his tail. He's a rather vibrant gold color, and is about halfway between a wyvern and a true dragon. While he has no proper forelegs, his wings have a sturdy enough 'arm' that he can walk on all fours, using them as such. His scales are thick, and his wings have five spines and are finely webbed. The bottom of the webbing has a thin strip of a much darker gold running along it, which is interrupted occasionally by tears in the outer webbing of his wing. He has a scar over his right eye that mirrors the one in his human form, the scales having broken and twisted around the damage, making it look significantly worse than it does in his human form.

PERSONALITY
Hudson is a dedicated old man, and he puts his full effort into whatever he's doing. It doesn't matter if it's hoarding, making himself a lair, or whatever he's doing for his job at the time - they'll all get his full attention and care. He dislikes people who have potential and don't use it, and those who shirk their duties, and doesn't have much tolerance for people 'wasting their potential'. He seems humans as only slightly more permanent than a strong gust of wind. They live their lives in a fraction of his own lifespan, and it's downright irritating to him that a human would waste their measly one hundred years (if they're lucky) doing nothing.
He's all smiles, regardless of his emotional state at the time. Happy? Smiling. Upset? Smiling. Mad? Still smiling. He's fairly easy to rile up, but does a damn good job of hiding it. The only real way to tell when he's really angry is to look at his eyes, which give away far more of his emotional state then the rest of his face.
He's brave, although a lot of that is simply that he's a good deal more durable than the average human. If a human is shot, it could be life threatening. Unless he's shot through the skull while in human form unexpectedly, a bullet isn't going to do that much damage. He can simply return to his dragon form and let himself heal, and then the problem's solved. But dragons have never been well known for their forgiveness, and a long memory and the capacity to take revenge has made him the kind of person who holds grudges with someone who pisses him off until they're 'even'. Most of the time getting even doesn't necessitate violence, but if you piss him off or act against him, you can bet your life that he'll find a way to get back at you.
He's a stubborn and downright grumpy person. Thousands of years have made him fairly set in his ways, and it takes a lot to convince him he's wrong about something. He isn't one to readily admit that he was wrong about something, and he's pessimistic the vast majority of his time. Taking his new job was his attempt to fight back at that unfortunate part of his nature - to try and help, rather than just sulking in his cave being bitter about it.

POWERS
Hudson's true form is that of a massive dragon, and as a result the majority of his physiology is draconic in nature. His lifespan is hundreds of times that of a human, and while he's certainly in his old age as far as dragons go, he should still be able to live to be 5500 or even 6000 years old. He's covered in thick, durable scales, and is generally extremely durable for a creature of his size. His claws are long, curved, and sharp, capable of slicing through even metal, and his teeth are similarly powerful. He's capable of breathing fire, and is also capable of flight. While not immune to magic, magic tends to have a lesser effect on him. Despite being what many would consider a magical creature, it his his nature that is magical, and he can't actually use any magic.
The only thing he can do which could be considered magic is his ability to take a smaller, more humanoid form. He's not a true shapeshifter, capable of becoming anything, but he can simply shift down to a single human form that has aged along with his dragon form. This form is incapable of becoming ill, and could be considered a shell for his dragon essence. This transformation is painless and relatively quick, but can also be accomplished piecemeal. He could, for example, give himself just his claws, or else become a much smaller version of himself by transforming back but not returning to his correct size. He's incapable of breathing fire without doing at least a partial transformation (of most of his head, his throat, and a good chunk of his internal organs), and while he's more durable than the average human (and more magic resistant), it's only a portion of his abilities in his true form, since he's had to crush it all down to size.

BIOGRAPHY
Hudson was hatched at the tail end of the 28th century BC, just at the beginning of the Old Kingdom era of Ancient Egypt. While his memory in general was excellent, his early memories are understandably foggy. He remembers his parents faintly from the earliest days in the deserts of Egypt, but dragon parents were never the kinds to stick around for long, and both left in turn before he was three hundred. He lived among the crocodiles near the nile, growing larger and larger. His golden hide let him vanish into the dunes, and the few humans who witnessed his head or tail simply believed he was Apep, come to watch over humans.
He taught himself to take their shape and walk among them, his hair the color of sand, and drew attention where he went. He took his first wife in egypt, and finally travelled out when he was a century old. He flew north, to find more of his kind, and he found them although they were few and far between. Dragons were nothing if not territorial, and he travelled a great while before settling down briefly in the Alps. He took another wife from the mountain people there, who looked upon him with awe and confusion. While they could not have said what he was, they were quite certain he was something else entirely.
He returned to Egypt when she died, finding a brief moment of attention under the Akhenaten. Abandoning the traditional Egyptian pantheon, Akhenaten worshiped Aten - the sun - above all. To have a man with hair of blond among his court seemed to be a good omen, and he soon found himself the subject of significantly more attention than usual. When Akhenaten was removed from power, Hudson took his first 'name' - Rmssu - and allowed himself to ride the transition back to the old pantheon. No longer was he a portent from Aten, but instead a portent from Ra himself, to show that Ra had not abandoned his people.
It was a lonely existence, and he found that over the years, he found fewer and fewer dragons. They were not truly being hunted (not yet, anyway), but it was simply their nature driving them to near extinction. Already close to two thousand years old, he had never felt any particular desire to seek the companionship of another dragon, and eggs seemed few and far between for his kind.
His third wife was also from Egypt, and it wasn't until Alexander conquered egypt that he left, fleeing to the north to Europe. For the next almost two thousand years, Hudson would say that he didn't actually settle anywhere. To him, he stayed on the move. But to humans, whose lifespans were so much shorter, spending several decades in a single town would certainly count. There was no real reason that he had to keep his secret, but he did anyway - spending the majority of time as a human, and living a human life, moving on when it became too obvious he wasn't aging (or was aging far too slowly to be recognized by a human).
His fourth wife he found in the hills of Germany. They had sixty glorious years together, and then she finally passed away in their cabin in the hills. That was too much for Hudson, and he returned to his dragon form, forsaking humanity. He sought shelter, moving from cave to cave. Eventually, he headed out into the ocean, flying for days until he at last settled on a small island, just north of Manta Carlos proper.
He lived there for more than a hundred years, avoiding the outbreak of both world wars. He slept - dwelling on a hoard of all the things he'd collected over the years.
In the late 80s he began to travel to the island in his human form, collecting trinkets and trying to catch up on what humanity had been up to. Not much good, unfortunately, although he was delighted to find out that the larger island not far from his lair was actually home to a whole variety of not humans, some of which were even dragons. He became more involved with humanity once more, spending more time in his human form. He became open about what he was for the first time in his history, and picked a normal enough sounding human name, since almost no one could pronounce his old one.
When there was talk about a school for delinquents, he got himself a job for the first time in years. He wanted to be a part of it, to try and do something rather than wallowing in his misery. It didn't last all that long though. As much as if fit him, the work wasn't enough to sustain him. So when a job with more hours was offered, working in the library of all places, Hudson took it happily. He had no true love of books, but his fourth and final wife did, and he had plenty of experience from working in the bookshop they'd owned together.

EXTRA INFO
- His proper name is essentially unpronounceable by humans. Rmssu was the first human name he'd taken, in large part because of his golden color. It could also be transliterated as Ramses, which Hudson has decided sounds pretentious. He doesn't use it very often.
- Hudson speaks more languages then he could possibly count, and in a lot of cases he's the sole living speaker, with the language itself being long dead. For the most part, they're North African, Middle Eastern, and European languages.
- Hudson has taken, over the years, four human wives and exactly zero dragon ones. He did love each of his wives, and when they passed it was a real blow to him.
- As a dragon, Hudson has a hoarding instinct he has to fight. If he gets one thing, he has to resist the urge to get several and make a small pile of them.
