Cadenza Tarantella / Arach

Since being freed from Mikhainon and parting with Chloe, Arach took a new name and default appearance in her human form. As Cadenza, she appears as a young woman, around the age of 17 to 19, having a well-maintained athletic build despite having only a height of 5'3ft. She has a tan complexion and her face shape is a little oval. Her hair is golden blond and much shorter than her initial human form, going only past her ears where it flares outwards as if mimicking the formation of horns in her real form. She retains her three pairs of eyes from her original form with only the largest pair looking human while the other two sitting above them aren't much different. All six are red, with the two larger pairs having white sclera surrounding the irises with cat-like pupils. When using any spells or performing any rituals, she reveals her seventh eye. Her gaze looks rather childish but not without the hint of caution that could be seen from the smaller pairs of eyes. Cadenza has her fangs poking out of her lips.

Cadenza's wardrobe also changed from her initial but not quite significantly. She still maintains a somewhat daring aura but her outfits lean more on the quirky scale. Her color scheme leans towards purples and pinks with some hits of black, white and gold every now and then. Her style varies but she's mostly seen wearing loose outfits, quite breathable, and wears more accessories like belts, earrings and bracelets than before. She doesn't use as much make-up but she takes the time to paint her nails, having different colors every other day. Cadenza is also found to have a tattoo of a star above her left hip.

Cadenza's shapeshifting allows her to keep other human forms, in which she can still appear as her old appearance and another of her choosing. Natural laws prevent her from shapeshifting to impersonate so instead she only chooses a default form of her own design. An alternate appearance she chooses is pretty much a male version of her current where her hair is notably shorter but still maintains the spikes that mimic her horns, multiple eyes and fangs that appear under her lips. Clothing sense seems more formal with this face, but the color choices mirror the default Cadenza. He calls himself Julien with this face, if not just simply 'Cadenza'.

In her true body, Arach takes the form of a centaur-like demon, with a humanoid torso and lower half of a spider (starting from the cephalothorax down), towering around 9 feet. Her head retains a somewhat humanoid arrangement but she has three sets of eyes plus an extra in the middle — the largest pair in the place where humans have theirs, and the remaining two are placed right above those with the extra at the top. She has a mouth with razor-sharp teeth, hanging over it is some sort of red complex mandible almost like like mantises'. She has a crested skull giving her head a crown-like formation of five horns that give her head the shape of a diamond. Two small sharp horns protrude from her forehead, both of which curve up slightly.

Arach has ten razor-tipped limbs, eight of which support her her entire towering form growing from the cephalothorax. The other pair is attached to her torso as arms with ends ending like blades very reminiscent of praying mantises. Right at her lower back, two pairs of insectoid wings grow right before the tip of her spine, falling over her spider abdomen to look like some form of a cape. A light armor covers her humanoid parts: a plate mail covers her torso along with shoulder plates and a waistcoat hanging below her midsection. If anything, Arach looks like a monster that came out of a child's nightmare.

(For a better mental image, imagine the Racnoss from Doctor Who, add some mantis mandibles, tweak the head shape just a little, add some insect wings and armor and you've got Arach's real form.)​

Cadenza is a capricious little thing. It's hard to find a pattern to her behavior except for a few things. The most is how she can manage to be adorable and curious despite the obvious quirks in her appearance such as having multiple eyes and a long pair of fangs over her lips. She moves around a lot; she dislikes being idle and being generally bored. On her free time, she takes her time to occupy her attention with virtually anything she can find interesting whether it's some laid back activity, or something as intense as rappelling down cliffs and waterfalls.

For the most part, she claims to have a knack for making food and she doesn't really lie. Her residence smells like cinnamon and spices whenever anyone visits proving her claim. On a rarer time, she goes out playing practical jokes on random people. Her pranks come in a range that goes from anything as harmless as suddenly spraying people with a watergun or terrorizing the shit out of them.

She seems to have an affinity for recreational sports if it isn't already evident on her form. On a usual morning, you'd find her jogging with some sketchy music playing from her earphones. Hiking isn't something she won't consider, but she definitely won't pass up on team sports either. Whenever she feels like it, she lurks around the sports clubs seeing if she could sneak in for practice or something. On the other hand, she spends her late afternoon gazing out her window with a book in hand and a light snack on the side.

Cadenza's also quite stubborn. While entire disposition makes her hard to pin down, it's a definite thing that she's difficult subdue for most people. She doesn't do well with taking specific orders, or being treated any lower than she wants. She has a pride she upholds, despite being only a minor demon. She refuses to be pushed around, or spoken little of. She's highly independent and prefers it more that things go her way and not any other way, but this trait also makes her kind of uncooperative when she thinks she can get away with it.

Despite her childish antics, Cadenza is still, in the end, a demon in disguise. She might seem like she's too childlike to do anything terrible, she's still Arach and without any master to answer to, she won't hold back when she thinks someone needs to get a taste of a demon's wrath. For the most part she won't do any harm, but it's best not to provoke her and give her a reason to fight back.

She hasn't been shifting to any of her alternate spider forms since she became Cadenza because it gives her away. Whenever someone suggests any connection to "Arach", she denies it completely but in such a way that seems natural. People can still find a connection between the two and unless there's magic involved, she'll feign ignorance about her identity and insist on Cadenza's story.​

Arach is a demon summoned into the mortal realm and took the form of a human for camouflage. Arach has the ability to shapeshift but her forms is limited between a human form and a spider form. The in-between are some partial transformations include four extra spider legs that seem to sprout from her waist with spinneret included, and her mandibles. She can take the form of a small spider (or a thousand) that resembles a black widow and also her true appearance.

Due to her origins, Arach is attuned to magic and psychic energies enabling her to see ghosts and astral projections. Arach is able to communicate telepathically with other demons and psychics as long as she is allowed. If the individual's mental resistance is weak, she can search their thoughts once she is given access to their minds. Unless given this allowance, she is completely blocked from entering thoughts.

Arach used to be bound to Mikhainon but now that she's independent from his power, Arach's version immortality is somewhat reduced. What is still in Manta Carlos is an avatar of herself but is now only maintained by her own power in the entirety. In any instance that this form is killed, she would have to remake a new avatar which could take at least a week before she can reappear. She cannot be summoned in this way within that time frame while she recovers.

A sigil she created hidden in the forest graveyard anchors her to this realm and the island so she can return in the instance of her death. The sigil can also provide a connection so she can create a gateway for her real self when she gravely needs it. Without the sigil she has no way to get back after death without having to expend more resources or unless summoned. The real Arach remains in Hell but has left Mikhainon's domain and has been wandering for the most part. She refuses to actually leave since she believes that she draws her power from Hell and leaving can weaken her.

As a magical creature, Arach has the capacity to use magic to a certain level. Unfortunately, she cannot make miracles. The spells she can cast is limited to her own magical capacity. Massive spells that require more energy can actually kill her so she avoids them as much as possible. Arach's spells are only limited to instantaneous transportation, conjuring manifestations of energy or objects, and object creation. The distance the transportation covers and the size of the object she can create are dependent on her energy reserves. For comparisons sake: she can't make a structure as large as a manor house without having a near death experience, nor can she cross an entire ocean without ending up exhausted when she arrives on the other side. If the creation spell has a duration, magic holds the object together, and when the spell ends, the conjured creature or object vanishes without a trace.

Arach's nature as a spider-like demon gives her similar qualities to that of actual spiders. Even in her human form, she can inject venom on her victims to render them paralyzed or even kill them. When she takes a partial form with the extra limbs, she can weave webs that come from her spinnerets that appear on her lower back. The threads she makes are extremely durable with respect to her actual form. She is light on her feet and incredibly acrobatic.

Arach's power is dependent on her own capabilities and that means she has to maintain her own supply of power, which is why she is required to eat and sleep like having a normal human body — sometimes even twice as much. Arach is not human and does not really have a fully free will as she is bound under restrictions of all other supernatural creatures as any other.​

Arach doesn't like looking back in her life. If she would be asked, she'd always say that she'd known Mikhainon since she could remember anything, already been under his service since then. That's always been how it was and there was no prelude or prologue.

The truth is that she wasn't always at his side. She was a few things short of being rubbish in front of many other demons who were bigger than her, stronger than her. But Arach wasn't one to let herself be among the ruffians in the background. She made herself better, climbed her way to some sort of power she could cling to. Ups and downs, barricades to climb over; it had been a long quest to be something above nothing. She'd had bad experiences along the way she erased from her own memories.

She had met Mikhainon in his rise to power; then only a Marquis. She knew it would have been the end of the line to her rise if she'd swore fealty but she saw a familiar look in his gaze. If she were to make herself indispensable to him... well, that would be beneficial to her. As a minor demon, she didn't have authority in Hell but being at Mikhainon's side gave her a place to help him rule over his domain.

Arach remained at his side for the next millennia to come, summoned to the mortal realm every so often to be entrusted a quest by him. Arach was sure enough she was trusted enough to keep her post for as long as she could while she found her momentum. Getting summoned back to the mortal realm to become a familiar wasn't in her plans nor was actually being freed from Mikhainon only years later.

During her time as a familiar, she spent most of her days either on her own or at Chloe's side, watching over her. She was both teacher and bodyguard to her, and though she wouldn't say she was attached to the girl, she wouldn't deny fondness for the girl either. Whether it was because of her ties to her as a familiar or something other, she learned to work things out for the girl instead of prioritizing herself and her personal interests alone. When she agreed to take Chloe's offer to free her, she gives her the alternative to eliminate her on site if the ritual failed on her part, but thankfully both of them broke free from Mikhainon all according to plan.

In Hell, she now wanders on her own without a specific domain to remain linked to. She has avoided getting anywhere near Mikhainon's domain for her personal safety but she chooses to remain in an unclaimed domain where she won't get hunted down, or on open domains where she can slip in and out without causing too much disturbance. Without loyalties, she returns to her status as a minor demon without any significant power over any part of Hell whatsoever.

On the physical realm, she chooses to part with Chloe after the ritual had been successfully completed. Arach remains in the island despite all of what happened, going as far as to create a seal that would keep her connected to the island as an anchor in case of death and possibly a gateway in case things get ugly in Hell. After disappearing for a month, she resurfaces as Cadenza Tarantella, who introduces herself as an island native from the agricultural side of Manta Carlos who only just returned from hell a few months prior.​
