Adelene's loud footsteps echoed against the floor of the dormitory hallways. She couldn't help but run back to her room after her morning classes, and only because she couldn't stop thinking of today's lunch, and that made her careless and giddy. For the first time, she was going to cook food with a friend, and eat lunch with a friend. What made things even better was that this friend was very promising, someone who was just like her in many ways, someone she was able to open up to easily. Well... she wouldn't really consider it opening up, but she became comfortable around him very easily, without any gut feeling of danger. She was happy she could have a friend like that. Leon. And she was excited, almost too excited, to meet him again after yesterday.
She entered her room and slammed the door shut before running to her bedside drawer. She plopped down her bed, and threw her bag to the corner, before opening a drawer and taking two pouches with her. One was pocket-sized, and she had most of her money there. She placed that one in her jeans' pocket. The other one was slightly bigger, and whatever was inside, she planned to give it to Leon later, hoping he wouldn't mind, but at the same time afraid that he would.
Okay, deep breath. Calm down, Adelene. You're just going to hang out and eat lunch. It's not normal to get so excited. She told herself that, trying to convince herself. But she simply couldn't calm down. She's been eating alone all the time for the past six years, so of course she would look forward to this.
...
She got to the main gate a few minutes early. She wore a pair of jeans, a simple red shirt, and had a small shoulder bag hung on her right shoulder down to her left hip. She was worried she might have gotten there a bit too early, and Leon might end up figuring out that she was really excited. She didn't want that, it was embarrassing. But she found no reason to leave the area, since Leon would be coming anytime soon, as well. She sighed. The sun was pretty high and hot, but she didn't even notice.
