Kimiko wants to be a Prince.
As an aspiring wanna-be Prince, she lives her life believing these three things:
1) Girls are most beautiful smiling.
2) The greatest fiend there is, is a person that would make a girl cry.
3) There is no task nobler than protecting a girl.
In order to understand Kimiko, you need to understand first what it means to be a fairy tale Prince. A fairy tale Prince is a handsome young man that goes around and saves damsels in distress, falls in love with her and lives happily ever after. Kimiko’s greatest aspiration is to be a fairy tale Prince, so at her finest, Kimiko is charismatic, kind and friendly, but also unrelentingly brave and noble. Kimiko aspires to be good to everyone, girls especially.
Her bravery and determination to be a Prince, while it drives her and makes her shine brighter than most, also tends to be her downfall. Kimiko is an ‘Act first, Think later’ gut feeling kind of girl. If she sees someone talking shit, they get hit. She’s known as a troublemaker but it’s because she thinks if she doesn’t act, no one will. She has a reputation of not exactly being the smartest tool in the shed.
Powers:
(STRONG) Mark of Nobility – Kimiko magically received a tattoo of a rose on her left bosom, where her heart should be. The Mark of Nobility lets her do three things:
a) Rapier – Kimiko can summon a rose-themed rapier that can slice through almost anything. The rapier’s effectiveness depends on intent. If she’s using the rapier for a good reason, such as protecting people, it will be at its most effective; she can slice even diamonds. If she’s using the rapier for meaningless violence, it will bend like a cheap plastic toy.
This is her most favored power, so it’s the easiest for her to summon. It’s the one with the most definite form.
b) Bulwark –Kimiko can summon a shield that protect her and whatever’s behind her from almost anything. Kimiko isn’t very good at summoning the shield yet. Often, it only shows up when she’s surprised and makes a blocking gesture and it disappears as soon as it’s not needed.
c) Armor - (Latent) Kimiko can summon a stylish, formfitting thin-plate armor that greatly enhances her strength, speed and agility. This ability will only be available once Kimiko truly learns what being good for goodness’ sake entails.
(WEAK) Athletic – Not exactly a “powerâ€, but Kimiko is an athletic girl and she can pick up on physical lessons incredibly fast. Part of why she’s so talented in executing her powers is because she’s athletic.
Biography:
Once upon a time, there lived a little girl in a small suburban town in North America with her father and mother. She loved her mother dearly, but she was too small and too weak to defend her from the wrath of their father. She was a mail order bride, you see. She believed that selling herself to move in a beautiful country with a foreign man would improve her life greatly, but as it turns out, she just exchanged one chain to another.
Kimiko wanted to deliver her from her fate, but what could one girl do?
One day, when her father took her and her mother to Disneyland, Kimiko got lost near Sleeping Beauty’s castle. She cried and cried until her tears went dry. Suddenly, a beautiful prince upon a white horse found her and gave her a ride. He told her, little one with a heart of gold, don’t let sadness turn you rotten and bitter. You have so much more power than you believe.
The beautiful prince brought her to a kingdom beyond plastic and illusions. He brought her to a wonderful countryside, with real castles made of cobblestones. As he wiped her tears away, he taught her three things he believed as a Prince: First, was that girls were at their fairest smiling. Second, was that the greatest fiend there was, was a man that would hurt a girl. Third, was that there was no task nobler than protecting a girl. So impressed was she by the prince, that from that day onward, she vowed to become a prince herself.
When she awoke the next day, she found a red rose etched onto her bosom. Not soon after she got her mark, the ten year old girl received a letter from an island far, far away. Her mother rejoiced at what the letter entailed for her daughter, so she packed her things and shipped her off in the night without her father’s knowledge. Kimiko promised her mother that she would return as an adult and finally, finally save her.
