Adrian Hexe Grimm
There was, at last, a quiet moment that Adrian could have to herself without worrying about her sister's plots. Her fingers danced along the strings of her violin as she played, deaf to the music, relying purely on muscle memory and the feel of metal under her skin. The sensation was a biting one as she played with much more energy than usual, almost to a violent degree. There was nobody else around to see her rare expression of frustration. If she had been playing classical music, the young lady might have been just a bit appalled at her own behavior. So she had chosen a baroque work instead, because that seemed to lessen the impropriety. As for the name of the piece, even that was a complete mystery to her, which was why she had chosen it. If she had known the name, it would have been harder for her to not care.
She frowned to herself in thought. As expected, Aurélie's fancies were already starting to change. Having abandoned their former alliance with Alice Mordrake under the pretense of -oh, what were those exact words? Let us take a moment to reevaluate the situation and consider a wiser course of action, her sister had said. That, in Aurélie's diplomacy, meant that she thought the other party was dead weight. But while Adrian was relieved to see that they had broken off from that horrible organization SPECTER, she worried about what they would turn to next. The future seemed so unclear. It was obvious, however, that Aurélie had become emboldened by the utter lack of consequences for her actions thus far.
At least, Adrian thought, she has let go of the plan with that child. Pham Thi Anh Sang would never know how lucky she was to have lost Aurélie's attention. But there was still this creeping, uncomfortable feeling that maybe...
No. She should not worry about such things. If they happened, they happened. There was nothing to do but take it all in stride. Since her own word meant so little, the best course of action to was simply care as little as possible about what her sister did. As the older sister, responsibility fell on Aurélie anyways and Adrian trusted in the other young lady's sense of pride and caution to not do anything especially disagreeable.
...It was almost a reassuring thought.
