Name: Protemene (pro-TEH-muh-nee)
Age: 40 (Chronologically 126)
Birthday: February 29
Gender: Pangender
Species: God
Category: Staff
Class: College
Subject/Work: They teach in the marine biology department, but will do research in almost any field.
Career: Professor.
Appearance Description: Protemene can take any human form they choose, but true to their consistent nature they tend to cycle through three main appearances. While all three are quite different, they consistently have white hair, bright blue eyes, and brown skin, as well as all standing at an imposing height of 6'8.
Their first form is best described as an androgynous stringbean. It's the thinnest of any of the forms as well as having the longest hair, with it reaching all the way to their waist and being completely straight and somewhat limp. While in this form they almost exclusively dress in cable knit sweaters, dress pants, and oxfords. They teach and meet with students exclusively in this form.
Their second form is on the extreme end of the masculine spectrum in appearance, with marble statue esque muscles, noticeable body hair, and a face that, while still recognizable, has much stronger features. Their hair in this form is kept in a long, voluminous wave with the right side buzzed down. Protemene keeps this form wearing colourful, dramatic makeup and expensive looking dresses.
Their third and final consistent form swings to the opposite side of the spectrum, being as feminine as their second is masculine. In this form their hair is short and in tight curls, almost always tied up behind them in a short ponytail. This form wears exclusively the somewhat strange combination of sharp business suits and open toed sandals, sometimes with glasses added to enhance the feeling of the look.
Personality Description: Protemene, despite being someone whose nature is constant change, is extremely predictable to those who know them. The truth is that's what they consider their true nature, someone who represents a constant and familiar change, like the cycles of the moon or the movements of the tide. They're also known for being full of themselves at times, especially when it comes to their intelligence, as well as having a poor sense of patience. Despite that they're at least sociable and have a sense of humour, though some of their students would disagree with that.
Active Abilities:
Protean Form - Protemene can shapeshift to nearly any human appearance at will, though they heavily prefer their three base forms. They can also dissolve themselves entirely into a mass of seawater which they maintain complete control over. The downside of this, however, is that staying in one form for longer than half a day at a time causes serious physical side effects like chronic pain, headaches, and nausea.
Passive Abilities:
Child of Olympus - Protemene doesn't age, nor are they susceptible to any mundane (in terms of being non-magical) weapons as a full blooded Olympian.
Child of the Sea - In the event that Protemene is injured they are capable of growing back parts of their body by consuming seawater, though they will eventually heal on their own at a much, much slower rate. They are also capable of breathing underwater and withstanding any amount of water pressure without issue.
Child of the Sun - Much to the misfortune of everyone around them, Protemene is blessed with a genius level intellect and near perfect memory. They also have an inherent blessing for understanding maths and sciences.
Biography: Protemene doesn't know exactly what it was that transpired between Apollo and Proteus to result in their birth and they are far too sensible to pry into their affairs. They were born fully formed as a featureless, sentient mass of divine seawater and, upon being given the name Protemene, gained two things- an understanding of their ever changing nature and an instant, ravenous desire to learn.
They have lived among mortals their entire life, using their powers to assume different identities in order to both study and work at various universities. When it started to become more difficult to properly forge documents for their mortal disguises- for them some time around the 1940s- they made the permanent move to Manta Carlos. This was both out of the convenience of no longer needing to create fake identities and due to the presence of Starlight Academy, an institution that seemed to be the place for their perfect career.
Since their first class in 1953 Protemene has taught mathematics, astrology, physics, chemistry, geology, and is currently teaching marine biology.
Resources: They make decent money at the Academy. You don't exactly work at an institution for 77 years without getting tenure. They live in a decently sized apartment by themselves.
