Kaz weighed what he wanted to tell Luke about Samhain. On one end, he could say he read about it in a book, which would be true, but it would also be close to a lie because much of the information Kaz had came from what he was and his family.

Luke wasn't fae like Kaz was, or, at least, Kaz didn't think he was fae. But then again, Kaz's own powers were so weak that it would be difficult for him to tell another fae from a stick bug.
"The...gifted, I guess, there are still some that have kept celebrating it," Kaz said. He led Luke out of the dorm and down the pathway, which was lighted with carved pumpkins from the students. There were a few leaves that flitted across the path and the air was comfortably chill.
"What was the most shocking thing for you to find here at the island?" Kaz asked suddenly. He gave look a somewhat mischievous grin, which was out of character for Kaz's normally serious face.
