The halls were never-ending. The floors were infinite, the classrooms were everywhere, and the terrifying amount of buildings--How was anyone supposed to find their way around this place? The Starlight Academy campus was far-reaching and vast, a significant change of pace for Lucia (and, most likely, other new students.). If left to her own devices, it could take her months to learn the layout of the school. Luckily, the school offered tours. She signed up for one as soon as she caught wind of this information.

Lucia made her way to the Admissions Office, where she would meet the tour guide and finally figure out how to traverse the school grounds. She greeted the secretary, who flinched upon seeing Lucia at first before waving in response. It was a weekend, hence why she wasn’t actually dressed in her school uniform, but instead in a frilly blue dress. In her hair, she wore two darker blue bows, keeping her pigtails in place. This was her typical attire, so she had gotten used to the weird looks that people gave her due to her different style.

Glancing at the clock, Lucia realized that it could be a while before the tour started. It was her own fault; She arrived way too early, assuming that it would take her longer than it actually did to find the Admissions Office. She let out a quiet sigh and started twiddling her thumbs. She was full of nervous energy, and she was mentally preparing herself to wait.

After Hudson had first registered for this place he noticed a thing talking about tours and had decided to sign up for it, after all a school as large as this one boasted to be? He was going to need all the help he could get! A place that had high school and college all mashed up into one was sure to be worse then a corn maze in fall after all, too many twists and too many turns to get yourself lost in! Thankfully today was the day for this tour so hopefully his days standing around with a map looking helpless would be at an end!

When he approached the area he was told they were supposed to meet in he stopped for a moment and looked around. There seemed to be only one person here and he was pretty sure that she was not meant to be the tour guide. The farm boy sort of stood there for a moment or two looking about, and man what a sight that must have been. A small girl in pigtails in blue and a young man in leather, flannel, and denim doing his best fish out of water impression wondering what the heck was going on.

Pulling a piece of paper out of his pocket Hudson checked the time, place, and all the relevant information on it. This was the place he had to be, though maybe he was a tad early, but that wasn't really a bad thing was it? Checking the paper once again he looked at the girl, then back down at the paper again. Apparently this was going to be a mixed grade thing? That was the only other explanation he could get as there was no way this girl was part of the college.

“So uhhhhh, this is uh,” he began rather awkwardly. “This is the place for the tours, eh? I didn't miss them? 'Cording to this I'm early!”

They say first impressions are the most important, and so far this guy was probably blowing it. Sighing he hung his head and put the paper away.

“Sorry, I'm just a bit nervous. Never really been this far away from home before.” Hudson stuck out his hand to shake as he introduced himself with that innocent farm boy grin of his. “Name's Hudson by the way! Sorry if I was acting all weird and stuff!”

Starlight Academy was the only school that Ophion had ever known. He'd taken all his classes there, from kindergarten up through post-grad, and the school was like an old friend to him. He knew every nook and cranny, and it wasn't really all that surprising when he took up a job giving tours. Who better to guide people around than someone who had known it for years?

Ophion arrived at the admissions office exactly on time, not a minute too early. He wasn't at all surprised to find two of the three people who had signed up already there, and he gave them his very best winning smile.

"Everyone here? Well, no, because they're supposed to be three..." He said, realizing that his standard greeting didn't quite work in this case.

"Well, either way - My name is Ophion, I'll be doing your tour for today. If you've got any questions, I suppose now would be the time, and we'll see if the third person shows up before we go," he explained, glancing eagerly between the two of them. He tended to prefer when both people were from the same age range--it saved him from having to show the whole school in one go--but just highschool and college wouldn't be that hard.

Lucia couldn’t even pretend to be zoning out. She was just too...anxious. So as soon as she heard the opening of the office door, her head snapped up. A tall man dressed in leather entered the office. For a second, Lucia wondered if he was her tour guide. Could he be here this soon? But after a few moments of observation, she could tell that the leather-clad man was just as lost as she was. He seemed confused, almost comically so, but Lucia kept herself from giggling. That would be rude.

“Looks like we’re in the same boat! Yep, as far as I know, this is the place!” she responded, “Don’t sweat it. We’re on an uncharted island in the middle of an ocean, it’s probably the farthest anyone’s been from the rest of civilization,” Lucia reassured him.

Smiling and taking his hand, she replied, “Hudson, nice to meet you! I’m Lucia! And, I don’t mind, I’m just glad to make a new friend!” she let out a small giggle.

Soon after her interaction with Hudson, someone else entered the office, a taller blond man wearing a hat. He soon clarified that he was their tour guide, Ophion, and that there was a third tourist they were waiting on. Lucia hoped the poor soul wasn’t lost.

“My name’s Lucia, nice to meet you!” she introduced herself to Ophion. Not having any questions herself, she turned to Hudson, waiting for him to say something.

Hudson just nodded as the girl tried to reassure him about being nervous and stuck his hands in his jacket pockets. Things had been weird since the moment he got here, like Saturday night B movie weird. All the things that at one point or another he was told was not real? Totally real. All of it. Congratulations by the way, you are now a part of it! Lucky lucky you!

Still now here he was acting like an idiot in front of some high schooler as their tour guide walks up and introduces himself. Apparently they are one short though but this fellow seems keen to get started.

Questions, eh? Yeah I got one. How long is this going to take? The thought ran out through his mind but thankfully he didn't say it out loud. He had signed up for this though, but at the time assumed it was just going to be of the college campus. Apparently that was not to be. Not like he had any plans though, he didn't really know anyone here as of yet.

“Uh, no. No questions.” He just kind of shrugged before he kept talking. “i just need to know how to not get myself lost really.”

As far as Ophion was concerned, everyone had questions. People who didn't have questions on their arrival simply didn't exist. The only real question was if people would ask those questions, or if they'd just sit on them until they came up naturally.

Apparently both of the new students were the latter.

"Well, I'm not sure our third is going to show up, so I suppose it's time to start the tour. They can always catch the next one, since we run these tours pretty regularly. One of the unusual things about the academy is that we pretty much constantly have new students coming in, so the start of the year isn't a big rush of new faces. I'll show you the common areas first that you'll both need, and then I'll show you the college and highschool stuff. Are you both living on campus?" Most people did, so it was a pretty safe assumption.

Without much more waiting, Ophion pulled open the office door, guiding the two into the hallway and starting off towards the cafeteria. Best to start where people would care the most, and hope that it stuck.

"WAIT! HOLD ON!" Amos yelled at the group. He sprinted down the hallway to try and catch them all. He had gotten hopelessly lost AND distracted by that girl at the cafe. Not that he was complaining. His only gripe was that now he had almost missed his group.

He finally bounded up to the three and hunched over, hands on his knees, breathing heavily. "Ha... Ha... Ha... Sorry guys!" He said with a grin as he stood upright. "I kinda got lost." He scratched the back of his head, a bit embarrassed.

He offered his hand to whoever would shake it. "I'm Amos. Amos Wilder." he said through closed eyes and a bright smile.

Lucia felt bad for whoever the last tourist was supposed to be. It didn’t look like they were going to show up in time. Well, she at least hoped that maybe they would be able to catch another tour, like Ophion said they could.

Lucia nodded her head in response to Ophion’s question regarding their housing statuses. She herself lived alone in a dorm on campus, one that was provided by the Academy upon her arrival. Yet even after literally living on campus for months, she still didn’t know her way around. Better late than never, she thought. Ready to finally learn, she bounced out the office door after everyone else.

Then the group’s short trek was interrupted by a shout from down the hallway. Lucia turned to see a boy sprinting towards them. Oh, so the third member of the tour group did make it! Lucia immediately jumped forward to take his hand. “I’m Lucia Allegri. Nice to meet you, Amos! We're glad you could make it,” she grinned back at him. Getting a closer look, she noticed that he looked older than her, like Hudson. She was probably the youngest present, but that didn’t bother her. If anything, getting to see the college sections of the school would only prepare her even more for when she would inevitably graduate high school.

Yeah, I live on campus for now.” Hudson said in reply to the question asked of them. He had settled for living on campus for the moment till he either graduated, found someplace cheaper, or just got sick of the dorms. It was a which ever happened first sort of thing.

While he had nothing else really to say on the subject there wouldn't have been time to say more as it was right about then that the third member of the tour had decided to join them. Almost immediately after the newcomer had joined them the girl Hudson had originally met introduced herself again.

Real people person that one, eh? he thought to himself. Whatever, he wasn't here to make friends at the moment. He just needed to learn where the heck he was going so he could not get lost as much! Still no need to be rude he guessed.

Hudson.” was all he said in way of introduction to the new guy, complete with slight nod of the head and all.

With that over he turned back to their tour guide and waited patiently for things to begin.

((Ok guys, this will be my last post for like two months ish, maybe a little less? If you guys want to continue without me that is cool. Just have Hudson chilling in the background or something, sorry about this! Work and all.))
