Relieved that she had finally made it to the cafeteria,Savannah approached the menu. "Wow! There are a lot of options." Salad? 'Naw, my pets eat that stuff. Pasta?! Ugh" she sighed. "I hate pasta. I had to eat it once a week at my Aunties and I hated it before then too!"She looked at the rest of the menus. Somethings on there she'd never heard of. She pointed to the word Pizza. "I've heard the word,but what is pizza?"

Claire laughed as she heard someone ask what pizza was, then realized it was Savannah. "Pizza is a circular piece of bread, that has tomato sauce, cheese, and whatever else you want on it." She ordered a piece of veggie pizza to show Savannah.

Savannah held a finger to her mouth."We never had such fancy food back on the farm, we weren't poor, but we ate everything home made, and Nanny and Mom never made any pizza. She looked and smelled Claire's pizza. "I guess I'll order one with just cheese?" She half stated half asked,looking at the menu. She stepped up to request her food.

"What would you like to have on it? You could have a meat, or a veggie, its up to you." Claire Smiled at Savannah, happy to explain and help for the first time in a long time. "You can try one, or you can have mine, to see if you like it before you buy it."

"I'm glad you like it." She bit into her pizza. "It has been a long time since I have eaten pizza. Where I lived, it wasn't the best for normal food." She paused. 'God well now she is going to be asking!' Claire thought to herself.

She nervously laughed. this was the part of her life she didn't tell many people, but if Savannah was to be her roommate, she would have to say it. She sighed "I ran away from home at a young age, for stupid reasons. When i was out there..." She drifted off and took another bite of her pizza. "I learned to communicate with animals, like i showed you. I learned how to hunt, how to live off the land, always moving. I learned how to protect myself." She took another bite. "So yeah, luxuries like pizza weren't really an option at the time."

Savannah listened carefully. "Wow, it sounds like a rough life, I'm glad you found your way here."You must have learned a lot while you were out there. She nervously spinned her hair. " Both my parents died before I turned 12," she said sadly. She didn't like to talk about,but she thought of her Dad's quote."Darling,never stand in the past, run to the future." There, she had told Claire about her parents. It could only get easier from here right?

"I'm sorry to hear that." Claire gave Savannah and comforting smile. "My mother died when i was young too, and I don't remember my father. I was in foster homes and the forest until I found this place."
