Eumelia was tense. She wasn't usually, she was usually quite calm and collected, but she had a good reason to be today. Today was the day she would meet her new roommate. She didn't know who, she didn't know when, she didn't even know how many people would show up!

Yet still, Eumelia waited patiently. She stood by the door, as she thought it may be rude to relax before meeting her roommate. She decided to pass the time by writing up some poem drafts in her notebook. This relaxed her, and she was now deep in thought, in her own zone.

She kept waiting.

Row, row, row your boat! Gently down the stream...

Thorn hummed quietly to herself, her navy blue bag slung over her shoulder casually as she walked around in her night black dress. She was changing from her big dorm into a smaller one, which probably had already had one person living up in there. What was her name again? Thorn racked her brain. She had asked Mrs. Doroon the name of her new roommate when she had asked that she was very uncomfortable in the big dorm. One thing she was sure of was that the name started from U. Or was that an E?

Merrily, merrily, merrily; life is but a dream!

Room # 389...Room # 390...Room # 391...Room # 392...Room # 393...Thorn turned towards left corridor, searching her desired dorm room. Aha! The first dorm when turning left was her new dorm; Room # 394.

The brown door was slightly ajar, and before Thorn knew it, she had raised her hand to knock it three times gently. "Hello? Is anybody home...or, uh, dorm?"

Eumelia perked up with excitement. They were here! Eumelia flipped shut her notebook and put that and her pencil into her pocket. She immediately went over and opened the door. "Welcome! Or, I suppose this is your dorm too.. anyway, please, come on in!"

The roommate was wearing a nice black dress, while Eumelia was wearing a semi-formal floral one. Not only that, but Eumelia had forgotten to make refreshments! She regretted many things then, but there wasn't anything she could do about it.

For now, she had to greet her new friend.

Thorn couldn't help but raise a brow at her roomie's sudden excitement-ish behaviour, a small smile lingering on her lips as she did so. She took a step in the dorm room, not before saying, "Hello," to the girl in front of her.

"I'm...um, Thorn. Well, my name is not Thorn but I prefer Thorn so...yeah." Thorn continued, more awkwardly this time. "So...you're my new roommate?"

No, a part of herself hissed at her sarcastically. She's just here because she's not your roommate, that's it.

She knew she sounded terribly lame, and she needed to give more good of a first impression, but she just couldn't help.

Eumelia was satisfied with her roommate. She wasn't mean or rude. She'd be a good friend, Eumelia decided.

"Nice to meet you, Thorn. Indeed, I am your roommate. I'm new to the island, and, erm, Earth."

It was true, Eumelia had grown up on Mount Olympus with the Greek gods and Godesses, and only had a feint idea of mortal customs, traditions, and culture. That was part of the reason she was so excited about everything.

Thorn raised her brow higher. "New to Earth?" She asked. "Well, at least someone's like me a bit."

Thorn walked in the room, taking off her bag from her shoulder and putting it on a chair. There were two beds here, alright. There were two working desks with chairs, a small shoe rack and a nice, honey colored rug in between the room along with other necessary furniture. Perfect.

"Since you were here first, I guess you've already chosen your bed. Which one's mine?"

Eumelia hadn't chosen anything, as a matter of fact. She was waiting for her roommate to choose first, as she figured it would be proper etiquette. "You may choose your bed first, as I have no preference.", Eumelia said.

She'd been thinking about the "at least someone here is like me" comment, but was unsure if it was rude to ask about it. Rather Eumelia decided to stir up some more conversation and get to know more about this 'Thorn'.

"Are you new to the island too? You moved into a dorm, similar to me. I've never been in one before, either.", Eumelia said.
