Malara Tor

Malara bumped her hip into Dorian as he parried her teasing back at her. "Hm. Option C sounds doable. Though maybe not right here. Don't want to scandalize all these families."

Malara couldn't help herself. She waggled her eyebrows and made kissy faces at both Yura and Britta when they approached, reveling in the latter woman's outrage at the sweaters almost as much as Dorian was. "Oh yes. I'm very familiar with all three of you. It's good to see you, girls. Do you like the sweaters? They're Crown Fashion originals. A collaborative effort from several employees throughout the company. All at my command."

As Dorian pulled Malara in closer, the flames of her hair died down. She let her grin go lopsided as she nodded vigorously in agreement with the picture idea.
Still smiling like a gigantic dork, Malara leaned her head on Dorian's arm, getting ready for her fashion faux pas to be immortalized.

Lorenzo Moretti
Lorenzo rolled his eyes. He didn't like repeating himself, but fine. He stepped a little closer to Narraine, so he didn't have to yell over the crowd and motioned to her erratically. "What are you?"

Enzo hadn't been on this island long and most of his time had been spent holed away, either from moping or because Angelo didn't want him out causing trouble.

He smiled brightly as she kissed his cheek, they hadn't been dating long, but that short time had been amazing to him, he'd never dated before, but he had been lucky to find an amazing girlfriend, "yea they really went all out, it's amazing," he smirked a bit when she mentioned the cold and snugged her close. "well there are ways to keep warm," luckily he wasn't cold to the touch like many vampires, probably because his bloodline wasn't actually undead.

He nodded when asked if he brought an ornament and reached into his pocket, but before he could show it, someone rudely asked what Narraine was, his eyes darted to the culprit, said eyes were already glowing red with anger. "I think you need to walk away," the man was a large man, human by his scent, wouldn't have mattered if he was a dragon, he wasn't going to let someone insult his girlfriend.

He slipped into the area quietly, standing away from the others, Christmas was something he hadn't truly celebrated in years, yet here he was, at a public event, staring up at a large Christmas tree. He had remained distant from people, emotionally isolated for years, but he had begun to questions his decision to live such a life, so he had come here, to see what would happen.

The internal cringe Britta was experiencing could have moved mountains, but she tried to keep a straight face. She was a professional, damn it. Even when her boss was asking her to use her beautiful professional camera to take such an absurd photo. God, Kierkegaard deserved better. But Britta reluctantly held up her camera and started taking the photos.

Yura raised her phone to also take a picture, which was promptly sent to Mia along with a text: Just met your boyfriend. She got a response right way.

“Mia would like me to inform both of you that you are giant dweebs and she loves you,” Yura said with a smirk.

Britta took a few photos—different angles, tweaking the settings because damn it, even for such an awful photo she was a perfectionist. Once she was…satisfied? She went over and showed Malara and Dorian the photo.

“There you go. It will…certainly make an impression,” Britta said. The internal cringe was so real.

“…How is Mia, by the way?” Britta then asked. “It’s almost too quiet without her around.”

“…But don’t tell her I said that,” Britta quickly added, biting inside her cheek with a stubborn look.

Reassured, Peace smiled. "In that case, thank you for your help," she said gratefully. A helping hand was all she needed to learn the movements. She was now skating confidently around the rink, their pace having quickened somewhat, and was almost ready to let go of June's hand. The tips she was given also helped her glide more smoothly and her grip remained constant. Unable to hold back a smile, Peace was thoroughly enjoying herself and couldn't believe she had never learnt to do this on another planet.

"Forget the end of the night, I think I'm really getting the hang of this!" She said. It was true that she was far from perfect, was probably unable to stop and couldn't execute anything more complicated than gliding in a circle, but it was far more advanced than her capabilities at the beginning of the night. She decided that she would smoothen out her glide before she returned to the tree to hang her ornament. After all, June was very supportive and she doubted there would be mentors much more helpful than him.

Dashing through the snow came a furry gray streak followed by a furry brown streak. They were scampering around legs, through legs, and in one case up legs, followed by shrieks, eeks, and assorted other sounds of surprise. Minx had not intended to crash the lighting ceremony, she hadn't even heard about it. In fact, she had been minding her own business looking for food when the squirrel had leaped in front of her.

Obviously dinner had fallen into her lap, so she had enthusiastically chased after it. Why it had gone towards the large crowd, she had no clue, but it might've been because of the giant tree with all the sparkling lights. In fact, the squirrel was headed towards that tree, so Minx let herself admire all the pretty shiny things. She swore she could smell chocolate somewhere too.

The fae's mind wandered a bit, letting the squirrel get a head start up the tree, and as she wandered after it taking some time to look around and sniff the air, that was when she saw the thing. It was the most hideous creature Minx had ever seen. The abomination had brightly clashing colours that even hurt Minx's mink eyes, and it was covered in lights. The squirrel could wait - that thing had to die. With an enraged squeak, Minx charged at the fuzzy monstrosity.

Dorian Crawford

Dorian's eyebrows shot up as Malara shared the story of how she got the sweaters, gasping and pressing a hand to his chest. He looked like he would've been clutching his pearls, if he had them. "You used... my own staff? My people that work in the fashion industry to create these ungodly abominations?" He shook his head. This was like the Ides of March, but with ugly Christmas sweaters.

"Tell Mia that we love her, from the bottom of our hearts. You can't tell that we have hearts right now underneath all the Comic Sans, and it's very blinding, I know..." He laughed. "But it's there. We promise!"

They did their impromptu photoshoot, and Dorian looked at Britta, surprised she was even asking about Mia in the first place. It was like getting splashed in the face. Not that he disliked talking about his girlfriend, but she wasn't doing so hot right now, no. He rubbed the back of his neck. "Recovering. She's doing really well in my place. I don't know what her idiot roommates did to her, but I'd rather they stay a thousand feet away from her at all times, thanks —"

That was when something completely unexpected happened. It was a streak of movement at first, but as it drew closer and closer, he realized it was heading right at him. Dorian screamed as a tiny mink assaulted his beloved Christmas present.

And he genuinely liked the thing, too.

"Oh, don't mention it, June all but hummed. He was beaming, his little fangs peeking out from the smile. The positive energy was almost delightfully too sweet that he had to thoroughly remind himself not to focus all his attention (and power) all on her. She wouldn't have noticed anyway, a voice at the back of his mind whispered in protest.

June kept his thoughts to himself; smiling his out of it. "Is that so now?" he spoke, slowing their glide enough for him to move around her. He released the other guiding hands, before making his way to her side, their remaining linked hands raised to eye level. His smile was almost devilish. "Then I suppose you wouldn't mind if I chose to guide this way?"

Peace was having a great time, and hoped June was too. She spotted his small fangs as he smiled and wondered about his species. Perhaps he was a vampire? She took her eyes off the track for a moment to look at him, but was forced to return some of her attention to where she was going when she lost her balance for a moment. Her glimpse of him revealed features she hadn't initially noticed, such as his golden eyes and contrasting red hair.

That being said, she was almost independently skating, using June as a support so that she knew she wouldn't fall. Her trust in him was also gaining, and didn't want to let go of his hand. "Of course," was her answer to his question. Now they were side by side, gliding around the rink much more easily than before.

June spoke well, Peace thought. It was a mix of gentleman and... Something else she couldn't quite put her finger on. Then again, so many citizens of the island had spoken with voices she hadn't detected in anyone born in the last couple of centuries. Deciding to start a conversation to get to know him, Peace asked, "So how long have you lived on the island?"
